I wouldn't be surprised if this story ends up with Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta ending up more heroic and good than Goku. Wouldn't that be an interesting twist.
Wow, Tien is a marked man. It seems pretty certain that the team (sans Goku, of course) will be going to Yardrat for the full course of Spirit Control training. Seems like the only way Tien will get the time to train up to stand a ghost of a chance against SSJ Goku without getting jumped (especially with Piccolo doing the same training). Imagine the Kikoho with the kind of power accessible with Spirit Control (like what Vegeta demonstrated in the manga, but obviously less powerful). Or knocking out Goku with an Instant Shin Kikoho, which Goku would totally see as a dirty shot. If the team masters the training and work together, I feel like they might actually manage to keep the Saiyans in check since I don't see them getting their act together enough to reach the higher levels of SSJ. Of course, all that still leaves them pretty undrrprepared for the Androids without something else coming into play... This is a sticky wicket....
Tien needs to head to King Kai's planet and learn the Kaioken, along with investing in some gravity training to boost himself further. Surely Tien will also take advantage of the Room of Spirit and Time, since Goku in this What-If never trained with Kami and thus shouldn't know about it at all.
Androids have a ratio for power compared to Goku. If Goku is weaker in this timeline, then they will be weaker as well. They don't stand a chance against Buu though.
so this looks to be either a Trunks that's from the normal timeline, or never got the full story of how this Goku was like. can't say i'm not a little disappointed Goku didn't end up on Yardrat and was able to cool down a lot but that's sort of the fun of this what if, wondering when or even if Goku will calm enough to be even a little bit more like his canon self. Plus having Nappa and Raditz around on the good side in the same what if is fun to see as well!
We didn't think Yardrat would add much to the story here, because Goku would be to stubborn to learn stuff there and not having Instant Transmission can up the stakes in the later parts. :) Still, I'm glad that you liked Nappa, Raditz and Vegeta being alive in this one! We've been toying with the idea for quite some time!
Personally I'm hoping that it's someone who never got the full story of Goku, because TBH having canon trunks go WTF to the various different timelines was funny the first few times, but in retrospec it really hurts the quality of the scenario.

Goku beat Roshi, Tien beat Goku & Tien received King Kai's training - so Goku is being a hater over Tien, Raditz easily recruits Goku since Chi-Chi/Gohan are a nonfactor, and everyone meets on Namek to an eventual confrontation with Freeza. When Goku fights Freeza in this timeline, his mercy is replaced with grief of Raditz's death & an obssessive-compulsion for winning.
Looks like Tien might be learning the Kaioken! (hopefully). The triclops doesn't stand much of a chance against an unrefined yet unhinged Super Saiyan Goku.
Masako I'm kinda disappointed Goku didn't go to yardrat and learn some of their techniques like healing and instant transmission, especially healing, I can imagine he would want to learn it to protect Raditz. Also it would be great character development that once Goku had a rematch with Tien and after beating him Goku would heal him honoring and forgiving Tien.
Trunks will do the reserve of what Goku did to him in the OG series and get the message across and perhaps finally Goku will understand he has to ..chill

I AM SO HYPED!! Honestly I hope that trunks somehow convinces him or at least calms him down. Since kakarot is brand new to this super saiyan transformation and trunks isn't new to it. I can see trunks just simply outclassed him tiring him out not knocking him out hut beating him till he's at least got the message.
This brings up an interesting question. What IF Freeza had actually bailed instead of getting cut in half, while Goku still escaped? Without getting traumatized by getting cut in half and becoming Mecha-Freiza, he might be a bit more... Considered in his revenge. But unlike a lot of similar takes, Goku survives and he and the team have to prepare for the inevitable rematch, which could come at any time. Maybe have Freeza and Cold do something more indirect instead of a straight confrontation to keep things interesting.
My initial thoughts for that scenario are these: - Freeza would do *some* training. Not to get Fifth Form or Golden, but maybe to fully master his 100% form and its stamina issues, since I'm not sure he'd quite put in the work and/or discipline to actually learn a new transformation at this point in his development but rather perfect what he already has. It would also feel hilarious and shark-jumpy seeing him walking around all bulky all the time. He and Vegeta can compare notes on overcompensating lol - Yardrat may not play a role, since leaving the planet isn't much of an option when Freeza could appear at any time. Though maybe they'd just keep the DragonBalls on standby on Earth to summon everyone back at a moments notice if necessary, while still giving everyone the chance to learn and benefit from Spirit Control training. - Bulma/Capsule Corps may play a role in building up technology to potentially deal with Freeza's fleet and lower level mooks. This assumes Freeza/Cold may stage a full on invasion rather than personal revenge. - The Dragon Team may have to expand their ranks to include many more fighters. Be a cool way to bring back lots of old DB fighters and such. - Cell wouldn't have Freeza's DNA, which would make him much more manageable.
A lot of these would lead to some real interesting moments. Especially if Cell didnt have Frieza's DNA. Without the frieza in him he may turn into a anti hero. Not like good boi 21 or anything. It would be quite interesting to see a more humanoid cell as well.

Absolute power and all that. That said, not having Freeza’s innate power and ability to live in space while also having to further rely on his Saiyan and Namekian parts to keep him in the running could essentially make Cell into Pikkon. This part was really thrilling and exciting. To see namekians stay on earth could create something interesting in the future. I was really curious who we'd see the future version of but I'm okay with Trunks, especially with how thos part ended. Can't wait till the next one :D
Watching this makes me wish we could get a Masako version of Super Dragon Ball Heroes. You know, a collection of various characters from his what-ifs. Gine, Ranch, Future Nappa, Droidy-Boy Freeza, this Goku, Never-turned-Good Vegeta, Super Mr. Satan, Saiyan Krillen, Never-Saved-Gohan Piccolo, Broly!Gohan, etc. It'd be fun! I'm not sure what kind of story you'd be telling other than "look all his characters are together it's neat" but I mean, since when has THAT ever been an excuse NOT to do a special like that?
I got a story for it but it’s tragic and sad but I also enjoy the thought that the time patrol growing tired of all the splitting of timelines decides to end them even the ones with good endings as now there are far too many cracks in the time stream that it is causing the multiverse to become unstable make hard decisions about the needs of the many versus the needs of few. Making it end with going all the way back to before trunks even gets a chance to go back in time and destroys the machine. So I guess in a way a crisis ala dc style
Look at it this way. This Goku isn't going to be handing Moro a Senzu Bean. So it's either get nice guy Goku whose a bit of a moron, or Jerkass Goku whose not going do a stupid move.
At first, I wasn't on board with Goku becoming an arrogant A-hole in this What-if, but I like the fact that Goku learns SSJ to Berserker levels and The 3 Saiyans (Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta) are all turned good, despite Goku not, due to his ego-boost.
I think it'd helped narratively if Goku had gone to Yardrat. He wouldn't have see the Yardrats as a threat, and would've been interested in their abilities. Their calming and uncompetitive nature would've been a good influence, likely not changing him completely but ultimately planting the seeds for redemption. It might even complete Roshi's training, in a way.
So I think an idea that would probably be fitting is maybe during the 3 year training period Tien receives training from King Kai and then the Yardratians. A nice little distinction between Tien and Goku here is Tien is weaker but puts way more emphasis on Ki and Energy control, and perfecting his techniques. Training or Yarra would make tien able to sustain kaioken for longer periods and lose less power when he does his clone technique. It'd also be in character for this version of Goku to see Instant Transmission as a cheap trick.
It’d be neat for Tenshinhan and crew to master Spirit Control completely during the 3 year gap and combine that with Kaioken to make a more stable power up that can match Super Saiyan. I know they sort of do it in the What If Goku Were Female, but I think the humans could definitely make faster gains here.
I'm honestly kind of surprised that when Goku was in his "berserker form", he didn't go full-Bardock and start screaming *_"Freeeezaaaaa!!"_* while destroying him or something.
A sweet plot twist that could be done here, would be if it's Goku who is Trunk's father. And that Goku takes Vegeta's place as the anti-hero of the group in the future
I would love to see, now that we are set on earth, master roshi becoming more involved. He could do that secret training he did in super with tien, buffing both of there power. (Since they both do kinda need a boost haha) I kinda just wanna see master roshi being a z fighter. Or you could do what if roshi was a z fighter/went to namik I would LOVE to see that!
I hope Vegeta or maybe Raditz interrupt Goku's rage so Trunks, being a Super Saiyan too, could possibly incline Vegeta to want to somewhat hear this guy out, even if it meant somehow snapping Goku out of his stupor

I think the Earthlings could definitely trick Vegeta and Nappa into being good by praising them for helping against Frieza. Give them the hero treatment and hope that they are satisfied enough with their rewards and accommodations that they forget that they're bad guys. I'm sure that treating Vegeta like royalty would be enough to make him forget that he hasn't actually conquered the planet.
I would like what Future Trunks reaction to Gohan not existing in this timeline. Also, when Future Trunks found out that Gohan doesn't exist and he is the first half-saiyan, Future Trunks would question who is the one responsible for training him in the future.

This part was really thrilling and exciting. To see namekians stay on earth could create something interesting in the future. I was really curious who we'd see the future version of but I'm okay with Trunks, especially with how thos part ended. Can't wait till the next one :D
Watching this makes me wish we could get a Masako version of Super Dragon Ball Heroes. You know, a collection of various characters from his what-ifs. Gine, Ranch, Future Nappa, Droidy-Boy Freeza, this Goku, Never-turned-Good Vegeta, Super Mr. Satan, Saiyan Krillen, Never-Saved-Gohan Piccolo, Broly!Gohan, etc. It'd be fun! I'm not sure what kind of story you'd be telling other than "look all his characters are together it's neat" but I mean, since when has THAT ever been an excuse NOT to do a special like that?
I got a story for it but it’s tragic and sad but I also enjoy the thought that the time patrol growing tired of all the splitting of timelines decides to end them even the ones with good endings as now there are far too many cracks in the time stream that it is causing the multiverse to become unstable make hard decisions about the needs of the many versus the needs of few. Making it end with going all the way back to before trunks even gets a chance to go back in time and destroys the machine. So I guess in a way a crisis ala dc style
One of these days, I want a situation that merits a future Goku.

At first, I wasn't on board with Goku becoming an arrogant A-hole in this What-if, but I like the fact that Goku learns SSJ to Berserker levels and The 3 Saiyans (Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta) are all turned good, despite Goku not, due to his ego-boost.
So..... no Yadrat training.... wouldn't that mean no heart virus?
I think it'd helped narratively if Goku had gone to Yardrat. He wouldn't have see the Yardrats as a threat, and would've been interested in their abilities. Their calming and uncompetitive nature would've been a good influence, likely not changing him completely but ultimately planting the seeds for redemption. It might even complete Roshi's training, in a way.

This was epic, although I'd say Frieza not being relieved and Goku's reaction to Trunks were a bit unexpected.
So I think an idea that would probably be fitting is maybe during the 3 year training period Tien receives training from King Kai and then the Yardratians. A nice little distinction between Tien and Goku here is Tien is weaker but puts way more emphasis on Ki and Energy control, and perfecting his techniques. Training or Yarra would make tien able to sustain kaioken for longer periods and lose less power when he does his clone technique. It'd also be in character for this version of Goku to see Instant Transmission as a cheap trick.

It’d be neat for Tenshinhan and crew to master Spirit Control completely during the 3 year gap and combine that with Kaioken to make a more stable power up that can match Super Saiyan. I know they sort of do it in the What If Goku Were Female, but I think the humans could definitely make faster gains here.
I'm honestly kind of surprised that when Goku was in his "berserker form", he didn't go full-Bardock and start screaming *_"Freeeezaaaaa!!"_* while destroying him or something.
I like the serious Goku voice that Masakox is voicing.

A sweet plot twist that could be done here, would be if it's Goku who is Trunk's father. And that Goku takes Vegeta's place as the anti-hero of the group in the future

Still the same Future Trunks as the original right? I love it when he shows up in a messed up "What If" timeline and is completely confused on what's happening. Should be interesting seeing him meet Nappa & Raditz.

Goku didn't give him the opportunity to power up to 100%. He was just made with power.

I think the Earthlings could definitely trick Vegeta and Nappa into being good by praising them for helping against Frieza. Give them the hero treatment and hope that they are satisfied enough with their rewards and accommodations that they forget that they're bad guys. I'm sure that treating Vegeta like royalty would be enough to make him forget that he hasn't actually conquered the planet.
Trunks if i remember right held back against goku when they had that sparring match so I am gonna guess he will manhandle goku

I would like what Future Trunks reaction to Gohan not existing in this timeline. Also, when Future Trunks found out that Gohan doesn't exist and he is the first half-saiyan, Future Trunks would question who is the one responsible for training him in the future.
Interesting they are all on Earth now but sad Angry Goku isn't moving forward much.
