Hi Ann! Thanks so much 🥰 By the way, I was just about to delete this video as it's so noisy. I uploaded this one instead: ruclips.net/video/IjD9fyoDJEk/видео.html Cheers 🙂
I've watched several of these Euro Jean Hem programs from different people, but I like yours best simply because it actually looks original... Good job... Thanks for sharing...
This is so brilliant. Thank you SO much for sharing! Love from a Peruvian studying in the Netherlands (where professional-level customizations like this would be so costly!). Thank you so much :D
Oh my goodness! As a short person-5’0”- and a big time denim fan! I’m so excited! I have to alter virtually all of my jeans by either hemming it using the other method that shows the repair on the inside or by cutting it and leaving a raw edge. I just had to accept that I wouldn’t be able to cuff my jeans ever again. This is so amazing! I’m in love! 😍😍
Thank you for this tutorial! In the past I have has to shorten the hem for my daughter, and she always gets upset that I do not make a "flawless" hem like you did in this video. Now, I can do the same!!!!
This is so amazing, I am just a little confused on how much you need to cut off when you want to get a finished length. My son wants this hem he always has to have his pants hemmed and he wants the original hem he had it done once in another country I am in USA Please if you do another pair can you make another video and explain that, please. I love your teaching and the person doing your videoing is awesome on closeups and all video editing
Thank you so much for the tutorial. This is especially great for pants of heavy material NOT LOOKING HEMMED, OR ALTERED. I've been sewing a very long time, thanks for letting me in on a trade secret.
Ah, so you cut off the hem and open it , then use it like edging tape to enclose the raw/cut edge of the leg. Brilliant . Id never have thought of this...getting myself a razor blade to use instead of the seam ripper.
I don't know this method is called 'eurohem' but this method is done by local Taylors here(India) from several years ago. I remember my first jeans which is altered in this way was back in 1999. Thanks. Nice tutorial video.
I always thought that if I needed to shorten trousers it would require for me to do a new hem. I tried the eurohem today on a very long piece for me and it looks FLAWLESS! As if it was never altered! Thank you so much, I'm a beginner and I've learnt so much from you kind lady!
I've watched this twice now and I believe I got it! Thank you so much I am short and have avoided jeans for years because my machine didn't do a good job on them. I have a better one now and am excited to try thanks to you!😄
Let me offer my tip , use a pair of pliers on the inside double hem , by squeezing it first , then when you fold over squeeze again , it beats you tearing up your machine or maybe you have a portable like me can’t pound on it , try it you’ll like ! Just don’t use the ones your hubby or boyfriend uses on auto , I bought a pair specifically for this & keep in sewing basket !
oh Thank you so much for this tutorial..........my son just gave me a new pair of jeans ($98 ) i am or was afraid to start.......thank you so very much
Thank you Allison! It’s called a eurohem because it comes from the same kind of job that was done when doing a curtain hem. They used the original hem with the curtains. It was originated in Europe so then it became the European Hem or “eurohem”
Absolutely fantastic tutorial ! Thank you so much for these brilliant instructions ! It would be nice if you could tell me what is the model of your Juki that you call "the jeans machine"? This seems to be a real workhorse 😅
did you cut the leg at the finished hem length?......then did you cut the original hem 1/4 from the original seam line?..sewing back together with 1/4" seam allowance?....
Yes, yes and yes. Basically, you cut the hem at the same amount you are going to sew. There's a tiny difference of about 1/16 due to the ease needed in the folding process and because of the bulkines of the new hem. In practical terms is irrelevant 🤫 but it can be taken in consideration 😉. Cheers 🙂
I don't understand why u go through all that work wasting time . U could have hem them natually since u had cut the length just fold them twice than sew them in . It will look very natural & faster. What u are doing it's not look natural & time tạke longer
Hi! I understand your point. The fast answer would be that it's a matter of taste, although it's a little more complex than that. The following video will answer your question in full. Please let me know your thoughts after you watch it. ruclips.net/video/DiO69lFyhIQ/видео.html
Hey Spirit of Excellence ....You did it again ...Who Knew ! I know now thx so much XO you are so appreciated !!

I am in love with this method! Thank you!!!
Thank you! We just uploaded a video where we did this eurohem while tapering the jeans! :)
Hi. Another great video. Why is this alteration on jeans called eurohem? Love all your video's.
Thank you Allison! It’s called a eurohem because it comes from the same kind of job that was done when doing a curtain hem. They used the original hem with the curtains. It was originated in Europe so then it became the European Hem or “eurohem”
Yes i saw the original hem

Absolutely fantastic tutorial ! Thank you so much for these brilliant instructions ! It would be nice if you could tell me what is the model of your Juki that you call "the jeans machine"? This seems to be a real workhorse 😅
Thanks so much! It is a real horse. It is a Juli DDL-555. But my mechanic changed the feet dog for a more robust one making this machine stronger
Amazing results!
Thank you! Cheers! 🥰
Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it!
Wow magic 😍 i will try this to my jeans. Just wondering that can I stich it on my home manual pedal sewing machine?
Thank you so much! Yes you can, but I recommend size 18 needles. Use a rubber mallet. And sew veryyyy slowly! Good luck!
Awesome job 👍🏻
Thanks so much 🥰

Do you charge more for eurohem?
Yes. Because it takes more time! 🙂
