I remember running his battery dead on his business trip playing wc2 on his laptop in like 95 or something. Visiting.
Nah, it's awesome but the Amiga had so many better games, Chaos Engine, Xenon 2, Speedball 2, Cannon Fodder, Walker the list is endless.

You than did have a Mouse.... I also only played it on a pc. Oh still have the floppy disk. I thing I also saved it on my latest backup.
a little fun fact: when blockers fall (e.g. you dig right below them) they turn into ordinary walking lemmings again

Lemmings was developed by DMA design who in 1997 developed another cool little game called Grand Theft Auto. DMA design was later renamed to Rockstar North!

Lemmings 2 actually has SNES mouse support but I don't think many people know this. Makes the game way better to play imo

Fun fact: the creator of this game, David Jones, is the original creator of Grand Theft Auto.
One of them, Mike Dailly and Russell Kay also programmed Lemmings.

I remember that I never understand this game as a child😂
I was able to beat it without losing any more lemmings than necessary, I was something of a prodigy.
One interesting thing you should have tried is hooking up the Super Scope and using it to shoot the Lemmings!
This is a secret feature that is not on the manual and was only discovered relatively recently, so not a lot of people know about it!
To my knowledge no other game has hidden Super Scope compatibility, or at least no other game has been discovered yet.

This is truly an early to middle 90's icon in gaming! Heck they ported Lemmings to near evrey gaming platform possible so a lot of people could engage in this puzzle hit.

I had one of the top 3 scores on a DOS computer at my local library for Lemmings.
I had this on the Amiga, and it was awesome! (A little easier to play with a mouse) When Lemmings 2 - Tribes came out, they took it to another level!

I loved this game! Had it on my phone as Java game back before smartphones. Btw could be a nice idea for AVGN episode: "Java games". It had its gems 👌
I was obsessed with this game as a kid. It had the feel of those Sim management games from Maxis.
The artwork for the NES version of 'Lemmings' has always bugged me. Looks like that one character from 'Fraggle Rock'.
I used to have this on DOS.
I used to play Lemmings a lot on my beloved Amiga and I can't imagine playing this game without a mouse controller. You need to be very precise sometimes. But it looks nice and polished on SNES and I need to have it a go some day. I didn't even know the game had been released on SNES. Thanks for showing it to me. 👍🏻

I used to have something for it that let me make my own weapons, I think it was called the fiddler.
I played this like crazy as a kid. Couldnt buy it myself but had a family member that always got all the cool SNES games.

They are playin the snes version here and the Genedrive/Megasis sounds so much nicer! And unlike snes far less slowdown

One of the most ported AMIGA games in existence! Nice port on the Super Nintendo! Some slowdowns and the sound is just ok, but not bad!

Man, back in the 90s my mom went to rent a movie, and told me that I could pick out one game for the weekend. I picked this. Needless to say, I spent the entire weekend trying and failing to get very far. I think I was like 11. Never forgot it lol.
Forgot this game even existed until just now. Brings back so many memories of playing this with my neighbor as a kid on the SNES

I loved Lemmings! Played it on my Amiga 500.
Classic! I still play this game on vintage Mac. It’s also great training for managing the modern worker or toddler.

when i was a kid, in computer class, once we finished out work we could play games our choices were Oregon trail, or lemmings, and i would ALWAYS choose lemmings
Genius game design, i loved this game as a kid.
Lemmings was developed by DMA Design before they became Rockstar (behind the GTA games). It was developed here in Dundee, Scotland. I know the developers and artists who worked on Lemmings!
I played this in my 386 old pc. It was hard to give the umbrellas with a mouse
This is one of the games I most played as a kid.
Fun fact, you can actually reprogram blockers to be bombers, no need to waste two. Also, blockers become regular units again if you knock the ground out from under them. I played this game so much on my old Performa Macintosh, I got so dang far. This game was largely responsible for my appreciation of classical music.
Amiga version is the best.
The countless hours I spent playing this on my Amiga 500 :)

Fun fact Lemings dont actualy just walk off cliffs. Disney threw lemings over a cliff for their shot in a movie when they found out they didn't.
The 2 player mode in Lemmings is nearly impossible. It's so easy to mess with each other's stuff and it's competitive not co-op.
The simple sprite art is so endearing
That's why i found playing Lemmings so gutwrenching, kinda like James did here, i'd get way too invested in these little sprites.
