My grandmother had a treadle sewing machine, that she got new in maybe 1920. She still used it in the 1950's, and taught me. One of the best inventions ever!
Fun-tastic ! A common 4-6 drawer Victorian/ with machine would have tipped the scales for viewers . I have trouble making time to replace a broken shoe lace , nice job 👏
Cheee!!! Dónde estás vos? Tengo una igual en buenos aires Argentina. Con máquina y todo aún funcionando 118años. Pero tiene doble cajonera a los costados. Muy linda restauración. Máquina muy noble en verdad!! Ojalá consigas la máquina. Saludo 🍀

Eu Tb tenho uma "pretinha" da Pfaff, com cerca de 100 anos. Quero muito restaurar, mas o que me fta é referencia da pintura da máquina. Como se consegue isso? Vc pode me ajudar? Ah, excelente trabalho com a Singer. Quase chorei me lembrando da minha mãe pedalando a vida toda... Parabéns!!
Obrigado :) A madeira das máquinas era finalizada com polimento de goma-laca. No nosso vídeo, por outro lado, a madeira foi finalizada com verniz. Farei o possível para ajudar no que puder. >>Thank you :) The wood of the machines was finished with shellac polish. In our video, however, the wood was finished with varnish. I will be happy to help as much as I can.
That turned out really nice. Would like to find something like that for my sewing work table, as I'm going to teach myself to sew next winter 🙂!! It would be cool to have a table like that that i restore, to work on while learning a NEW ability!! 🙂 I would like to know what kind of products you were using during your restoration. And how you remember where all that parts go back and in what direction??
Thank You 😉 Remembering things is a matter of practice. Over time, it becomes clear where everything should be installed. In the beginning, I recommend taking photos or recording a video to help with remembering. Arrange screws and other small assembly components in boxes and label them. I have one similar to this one. It has 3 dr down each side. My grandfather bought it used when mom was pregnant and needing to hem diapers for my older sister. She is now 68. Some of the veneer is damaged/missing. I thought it would greatly reduce the antique value if it was restored. Should I replace the damaged veneer? The lid and a corner of one drawer. Other than that it's just really dry
Some people will say yes, some will say no. As with everything, everyone has a different opinion. I would restore the machine to give it a second youth. ;)
My sister has that exact sewing machine, it’s actually in better shape. We found it in our grandparents cellar when they passed. Anyone know what they are worth???

Where is the actual sewing machine?
Disappeared, the story is unknown to me.

music is bad, slow down, would rather lisen to sounds of tools. you had it sped up so fast couldnt follow what you were doing. couldnt finish watching
Thanks for your comment ;)
That's not a sewing machine, is it?
The main element that is missing is hidden in the construction that we renovated.
you missed many screws. half ass restore
I had one of these and used it back between 1987-1989. The needle went through my finger. I really wish that I still had it.
Thanks for sharing your painful story :)
