Yes, Lola is correct about the story of Jesus washing the feet of beggars, prostitutes, members of society that people would be deemed lower; it symbolizes that God serves everyone. God is most present when it seems like you are all alone. The apple is also a reference to the old testament.
I can understand the argument for L being smarter than and actually beating Light in this mental and info driven battle they had, because Light did have extra and unknown resources to work with. However, it should also be noted that he had to earn those resources. Misa and Rem were nothing but hindrances and nuisances to Light upon their introduction, and Ryuk didn't do anything for Light except check his room for cameras. The fact that he was able to manipulate things to the point where he could kill an opposing Shinigami and not have to kill Misa (he could've thrown her under the bus) is pretty impressive, even moreso, IMO, than if L would've proved that Light was Kira. Not to even speak in hindsight, but I think I would've had my guard up a lot more than how L was playing things after seeing Higuchi die; if I suspect that the power of Kira transferred from Light and Misa into Higuchi, but the same thing happens to Higuchi except he dies, I'd instantly go back into hiding and give all information of the case to whatever part of the government can kill/convict Light by any means necessary, whether that be assassination or fabricated evidence or whatever. L trying to go up against Light/Kira's lethal justice without taking full advantage of the lethal services/organizations empowered by his own justice system is sheer arrogance. I liked that about his character, though, that he seemed to be solving cases for fun, like a kid playing with a puzzle, and that he saw Light as a fun opponent/playmate to th epoint where he could die happy knowing his deduction was right in the end.

She was also the same girl threatening to kill Light if he didn't let her work with him or if he didn't go out with her (one of those two, can't really remember). She was also stupid enough to get caught and charged for sending the cassette tapes to the news stations, on top of revealing herself and her relationship with Light to L; therefore validating L's suspicions of Light being the Kira whom the Second Kira made contact with, also on top of Light being forced to save her by convicting himself and giving L even more proof all because Rem would've killed Light if he hadn't helped Misa. The ONLY time Light would've been able to use Misa SOLELY the way he wanted to is if he were able to get her close enough to L, after catching Higuchi and despite her not being involved in the investigation anymore, for her to see L's real name, but he didn't even need to do that because he opted, instead, to kill the Shinigami giving him problems via the trap he laid out for Rem and L via the 'fake rule' that Light tricked Rem into thinking would protect Misa, subsequently leading to L testing out the rule and activating the trap laid out for the both of them. Ofc, I'm not trying to say that Light could've easily killed L without Misa and Rem because, ultimately, no one really knows how that would've gone; maybe Light could've gotten close to and emotionally connected to L enough to coerce his real name out of him, the way he did with Naomi but in a grander, drawn out fashion suitable to L's intelligence. All I'm trying to say is that Misa and Rem were problems before they were able to be solved and used as solutions (yes, that was a math pun). Some people simply don't realize the value of Human life itself-FEAR will never change the *_Hearts_* of mankind, it's that simple. Good or bad, we as mere humans do not have the right to condemn oneanother. ̄へ ̄
An interesting concept I have always wondered about is if you can add a clause to the death. Since it can make people do things before they die, could you add an "If they do (or did) X they will die now, but if they have not done (or do not do) X they will die at the age of 100. There are actually two interesting ideas here. One being that you can have two different outcomes and the other being the variable clause. This would be most useful for those who are wrongfully imprisoned. For example "If this person intentionally killed anyone that I (from the perspective of Kira) would not kill, then they will die of a heart attack in 40 seconds." This would then not harm someone who either killed in self defense or has been wrongly accused of a crime. Could be an interesting layer for them to have explored.
Let's be honest if you saw a creature like rem in real life you wouldn't just be like oh so cute it would first of all startle you, even misa was startled then you would be thinking a monster even if you don't say it or like what is that creature or something

22:15 This. So many times this. The people who cheer Light almost always just don't get it. Light was given supernatural executioner powers not supernatural detective powers or supernatural judge power. In the real world Kira the deathnote would be marginally useful to good people. You could only kill the very few that have both been proven evil and at the same time not caught. Cool, you can kill Kim Yong Un, Osama Bin Laden and maybe the list on the interpol. You can't really *clean* the world like that. Specially problematic to me is that light never seems to use the deathnote to actually expose people's crimes "Pablo Escobar sends via email as much evidence and confesions about his operations, his crimes against humanity and his coworkers as he can to the most public media he possibly can for a week. He also details as much as he can about who helped him willingly and who was coerced. All of it must be truthful. Then dies while recording himself" Surely notes like that would help a lot more than what he is currently doing
It’s because it’s from the special Death Note Relight, basically Ryuk tells his story during his time in the Human World another reaper who is also interested in going there for fun. It contains alternate and additional scenes never seen in the main story.
You guys can say that what Light was doing is evil and shit BUT, saying this while living in europe is easy. Now move to a third world country and you'll see that crimes is a BIG BIG problem. In my country (brazil) more than 60k people were murdered just in 2017(that's the official number, but the real number is much higher), so I would like to live in a world without crime
I think when you say europe you think of countries like france, germany, italy... i.e the western part of it but not all of europe is like that at all especially the balkans ,which is where they are from .LM are serbian and serbia is very much an third world country. And just becuse light is killing criminals that doesnt mean that is morally right to kill pepole and for one person to have that much power in deciding on who lives and who dies ,besides lights motivations may have been to rid the world of crime (i personly think that it was an exuse for his later actions but you can argue me on that one)but they were never really for the pepole around him aka the greater good but only for himself so that he can call himself the god of the new world .So yeah they have every right to judge him as does anyone who watches the show weather they live in a third world country or no, becuse what light is doing IS evil but still like the point you brought out they are parts that are good/right and both of those things can be true at once ,its not black and white which i think is one of the messages this show tries to convey.
They keep saying kira is evil but just a few episodes ago they are cheering him up to kill raye pember just because he is mistreating his girlfriend. If it is within people's interest and belief they subconciously support kira and reveals their hypocritical nature.
you guys need to watch the L funeral, it’s like a 3 minute footage that was excluded from the series or something, post together with your next death note reaction please!! 🙏🏻
If you have the chance, I'd recommend reading the Manga chapters for the rest of the series. While the first 26 episodes adapt most of the material faithfully, the last 11 episodes cut a lot of content for time, and many people find it rushed and confusing as a result.
I love your videos! You NEED to watch the Death Note Dorama!!! (2015, 12 episodes). It's better than the 2 Japanese live-actions. (But the finale there is nice too) Many things change, L and Near are so different
Honestly, your idea that light's father or matsuda should be the one to bring him down is better than what happened. I liked N and M, but i think that the total lack of setup for them damages the storytelling too much
Read the manga, out of 108 chapters L died in chapter 58 and rest was all second part, while in anime it's 26 episodes first part and 11 second. Plus ending is better and more understandable in manga.
@@ozren8917 "Read the manga, out of 108 episodes..." You just lost me there xD I will take your word it makes more sense in the manga, but it would be nice to have an example please
@@androkguz They're right, the manga is far superior. The anime condensed 50 chapters into 11 episodes. For context, the first half with L was 58 chapters. That means that roughly 10 episodes worth of content was removed. Near and Mello are better in the source material.
For me this is the real ending of death note I feel like the rest is just them stretching it for money but this is where there is actual closure for everything. It’s just not the same without L
There's literally no closure in this episode, what do you even mean? What about Soichiro? Does he never find out that his son is Kira? What about the rest of the Task Force? What about L's backstory? What about Light? Does he just reign forever? When does Ryuk kill him?
This episode reminded me how bad Death Note's writing is (and it'll become worse from now on): L and co. never noticed that Misora came to police HQ and met Light there. Greatest detective alive didn't even check security records, and we have a literal witness (guy on reception). L's reaction: Misora Naomi's missing? Well, fuck her, we won't try to find her or do anything.
Checking security records wouldn't bring any useful evidence, light talked to her wrote something on a paper than she left. It would just bring L another reason to believe light is kira with no evidence. It was never said they haven't tried finding her, but it's still no use since she killed herself same day. Light could easily lie his way out of this.
The writing remained a similar quality throughout. Also L wasn't notified that Naomi even went to Task Force headquarters, she was working under an alias.
It hard to believe many people in that world support Kira. But if we remember Misa case, I think Kira also save so many 'Misa' and bring justice to their case, resulting them to see Kira as justice
I agree with many of your points...but the long lasting effect of people not committing violent crimes should not be ignored. Children learn behaviours from their parents - if you have violent or abusive parents you are statistically more likely to commit violence or abuse...this isn't a matter of opinion. If there has been many years of no or less violence it will echo. I am not saying that what he is doing is right, but generational violence and abuse is a real thing. If it has been halted for 7 years...that is a massive thing.
it wasnt halted tho, if people go back to commiting crimes as soon as kira is gone, then nothing was learned. People were threatened to behave, no freedom whatsoever.
@@andralfoo it takes time. But light would be able to change how humans view morals. The same thing happened after the industrial revolution. At first it was fear of authority, then the fear changed the culture and view on morals. What light was doing could benefit humanity immensely if he wasn't caught.
@@slimretro2659 all you are saying is hypothetical tho, if you want to imagine that, good for you. Sounds more like what you wouldve like to have happened, but it didnt, so we wont know what wouldve really happened.
did you already check out "L's funeral"? its a deleted scene and really shows Light/Kira lowering his calm/guard and truly shows his true nature, CHECK IT OUT PLS!
I keep noticing that people keep comparing the scene with L drying Light's feet with that of Jesus washing Judas' feet. I think it is interesting, but just to be clear, Jesus did not only wash Judas feet. He washed all of his disciples' feet. It was actually Peter who had a moment with Jesus in that particular passage, not Judas. It was not about the betrayal of Judas but Jesus demonstrating how to serve one another. It was a culture during that time to wash your feet after coming from outside especially since they would recline as they eat with others. I'm saying this because, even though I know that L and Light scene is open for interpretation, I'm *not sure* if the biblical comparison has been confirmed or was the intention of the show, especially since the manga doesn't even have that dramatic rain scene.
Crime rates are actually not dropping contrary to popular belief. Some serial killer named Kira killed 50 prisoners in one week, that is a ridiculous amount of murder. If anything the crime rate is skyrocketing to record highs. The criminal population has lowered but crime has drastically increased.
I really wanna advocate for Kira.. but I cant... *YET* because of spoilers. But there is a MASSIVE argument for why Kira has done more for the world in a short amount of time than the entire justice system has in hundreds of years. Japan's conviction rate is like 95%.. yeah, these prisoners aren't coming out.. but the tax payer is paying for their food, water, clothing, guards, electricity, internet use, medical bills, medication, doctors to visit the prison, guards for the prison.. Most countries that actually have a death penalty will keep a prisoner on death row for 10-30 years.. and after a few years you're just used to prison life from what I hear
@@andralfoo 2 sides of the same coin. Tha author of Samurai X was caught with child pornography and nothing happened to him, he is getting a new season this year
Why would they kill L to give us another L ? Well rumor has it ( as what happens many times in the mangas World ) . The story had to end with the death of L , you had " the new justice " beating " the old justice " , and that explains the creepy " master servant " scene we had between L and light when they were on the stares with the towels . But Lights state of mind has himself as the judge jury and executioner. And he makes his own rules, which align with society's.
But he sees himself as the exception to the rule as he is the deliverer of justice.

Considering your reactions to ep 25 & 26, i look forward to seeing your reaction to the finale..
oh...SWEET SWEET FINALE... :)
Greetings from the Philippines..
Some people simply don't realize the value of Human life itself-FEAR will never change the *_Hearts_* of mankind, it's that simple.
Good or bad, we as mere humans do not have the right to condemn oneanother. ̄へ ̄

Lola's admitting she wants to see some BL. Can't blame her after that feet washing scene last episode.
Banana fish reactions!!! 🥺🥺🥺
well , death notes 10/10 arc is over ... now starts the 8/10 arc... still pretty enjoyable tho
Yeah I'd say the second half is around 8-9/10
1:00 looks like they won't enjoy it
nice girls!!, BTW after finishing with Death Note and SNK I would recommend to watch:
Trendy ones:
Demon Slayer
Jujutsu Kaisen
Amazing short shows:
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Ergo Proxy
Sonny Boy
Zankyou no Terror
Wolf's Rain
Long but amazing:
Monster
I'm gonna add banana fish to your short shows recommendations. Its honestly a masterpiece and these 2 are great to react to those theme's the show touches. Also RUclipsrs don't really react to it
Guy's next anime recommendation: Please please please watch "Monster". You need some Johan Liebert in your life
Specially problematic to me is that light never seems to use the deathnote to actually expose people's crimes
"Pablo Escobar sends via email as much evidence and confesions about his operations, his crimes against humanity and his coworkers as he can to the most public media he possibly can for a week. He also details as much as he can about who helped him willingly and who was coerced. All of it must be truthful. Then dies while recording himself"
Surely notes like that would help a lot more than what he is currently doing
you should watch Ls funeral. it’s not in the snow for some reason but it’s on YT
It’s because it’s from the special Death Note Relight, basically Ryuk tells his story during his time in the Human World another reaper who is also interested in going there for fun. It contains alternate and additional scenes never seen in the main story.
A deadman switch!
My boy L had Kira on checkmate, right from the start.
AFTER CO,MPLETING THIS SERIES YOU CAN CHECK OUT L,S FUNERAL CLIP
@@creepybihon4451 They were clearly joking/goofing when they said that lmao.
you guys need to watch the L funeral, it’s like a 3 minute footage that was excluded from the series or something, post together with your next death note reaction please!! 🙏🏻
If you want there is a deleted scene of the secret funeral of L, it is available on yt :) but I think it is very dark so prepare yourself
Best character introduction is coming soon... Sakujo!
That MF ruin our God.
If you have the chance, I'd recommend reading the Manga chapters for the rest of the series. While the first 26 episodes adapt most of the material faithfully, the last 11 episodes cut a lot of content for time, and many people find it rushed and confusing as a result.
17:23 Ryuk: "nah I don't care" *kills Light*
Near and Melo entrance is the best part in this episode!
Please watch monster anime after watching death note, it is amazing!
it´s interesting they say that rate of criminality decreased drastically
considering that in reality death penalty doesn't really reduce the crime rate
2.25 - you taking out wrong ppl... - says mello
Light Yagami 🔥🔥🔥
I really hope you girls watch Demon Slayer after you finish this!!!
I love your videos!
You NEED to watch the Death Note Dorama!!! (2015, 12 episodes).
It's better than the 2 Japanese live-actions. (But the finale there is nice too)
Many things change, L and Near are so different
Seeing your reactions to Death Note, Attack on Titan, and Arcane... It would be very interesting to see your reaction to Devilman Crybaby
@@ozren8917 "Read the manga, out of 108 episodes..."
You just lost me there xD
I will take your word it makes more sense in the manga, but it would be nice to have an example please
@@androkguz They're right, the manga is far superior. The anime condensed 50 chapters into 11 episodes. For context, the first half with L was 58 chapters. That means that roughly 10 episodes worth of content was removed. Near and Mello are better in the source material.
For me this is the real ending of death note
I feel like the rest is just them stretching it for money but this is where there is actual closure for everything.
But if we remember Misa case, I think Kira also save so many 'Misa' and bring justice to their case, resulting them to see Kira as justice
people are selfish
The whole alphabet is against Kira
Enter M & N
Hahaha #TeamKira till the end!
😐😐😐😐😐
Well as lok showed facism is safer than anarcy so
@@samuelclayhills3298 none are good, and the world wasnt in anarchy before kira
@@andralfoo it takes time. But light would be able to change how humans view morals. The same thing happened after the industrial revolution. At first it was fear of authority, then the fear changed the culture and view on morals. What light was doing could benefit humanity immensely if he wasn't caught.
@@slimretro2659 all you are saying is hypothetical tho, if you want to imagine that, good for you. Sounds more like what you wouldve like to have happened, but it didnt, so we wont know what wouldve really happened.
No... theyre countries that have no means to fight against Kira, who can kill everyone in their government if they oppose him..??? lol
One suggestion for your future show to react: Demon Slayer!!
did you already check out "L's funeral"? its a deleted scene and really shows Light/Kira lowering his calm/guard and truly shows his true nature, CHECK IT OUT PLS!
The criminal population has lowered but crime has drastically increased.
rest in peace pink mouse :(
please watch vinland and monster
Lights end is Near
Mikami
I really wanna advocate for Kira.. but I cant... *YET* because of spoilers. But there is a MASSIVE argument for why Kira has done more for the world in a short amount of time than the entire justice system has in hundreds of years.
Japan's conviction rate is like 95%.. yeah, these prisoners aren't coming out.. but the tax payer is paying for their food, water, clothing, guards, electricity, internet use, medical bills, medication, doctors to visit the prison, guards for the prison.. Most countries that actually have a death penalty will keep a prisoner on death row for 10-30 years.. and after a few years you're just used to prison life from what I hear
i cant wait for the last episode
I don't think Kira-followers think Kira can die, they literally think he's God.
Best recap episode ever
Japanese law is not strict. Pedophiles get barely any punishment.
And yet, murderers are executed, sometimes without notice. Wierd

THE END IS NEAR
Here we go again what a great day
Why would they kill L to give us another L ?
Well rumor has it ( as what happens many times in the mangas World ) . The story had to end with the death of L , you had " the new justice " beating " the old justice " , and that explains the creepy " master servant " scene we had between L and light when they were on the stares with the towels .
But since the show was working so good , the distributors put pressure on the mangaka so that he continues the story and they sell more .
That theory is debunked by reading Ohba's (the author) statements during interviews. Also the foot washing scene wasn't in the manga.
Question: at this point, do you think kira is going to win? If yes, do you think he'll kill a main character?, if not, who do you think will beat him?
