Just an FYI for everyone, once you get it in your hands the first thing you're gonna realize is that it's NOT as big as you imagined. And the 2nd thing that really made me smile was that there was a firmware update waiting to be downloaded & installed! People that deal with Android devices like I do know how much of a BIG deal that is, that tells me a lot.
With just a little additional engineering, I'd like to see a future version where you can just unclip the screen from the bands and use it as a standalone phone/media player/tiny computer.
A watch company called NO.1 tried that a long time ago an it was really cool. The best was the one that would tether to your phone and could works as a mini extension of your phone. So if your phone rang, you popped out your watch and answered with a little chicklet held up to your ear. The should was really good, too. It wasn't an Android watch or anything, but it was a great idea. Thanks for the comment. Brings back fond 2016 style memories.
If you do enough searching you will find wrist guwwrds for many smaller phone types. Via blue tooth and an earbud you answer phone calls. There's a reason armies worlwide have their elite troops using these.

giving an update on my experience. i have had my Ticwris Max a little over a year now and it's worked great. but lately the charging contacts have worn out. the pins from the dock have actually worn down a couple of the pads in the watch, and corrosion from sweat is also eating them up. before i'd have to clean them about once a month, but now i have to do it every day and keep messing with the position or it won't stay connected to the charger. a few times now, i've woken up to a dead battery because of this. i highly recommend putting a piece of tape over the charging port when wearing it a lot. i used mine as my primary phone this whole time
Great advice about taping over the contacts on the back. I take a small piece if electrical tape, fold the end over on itself to create and easy lift tab, and put that over the contacts of any watch I plan to wear, especially if I will be exercising. Easy to remove and I keep it on the frame of my computer to grab whenever I need. When it starts to wear out after about 10 uses or so, I just make another one. I use the 1/2" roll of electrical tape and cut off a 1/4 inch strip. That covers most 4 pin contacts without sticking out past the watch edge. Great habit to get into to save a very expensive watch from ultimate demise. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I think I'm actually going to like the MAX S ( bit.ly/32BdWaS ) better than the MAX because it's about the size of the original LEMFO MEM4 PRO but with the addition of a side camera. I want to try pictures and videos with that camera on a rectangular screen. If it's good, then I'll probably wear the MAX S more than the larger MAX. I'm trying to get a prototype of the MAX S for review.
I have found Netflix version 4.16 works well on this device plus latest Stan and Prime version 3.0.242 also work. Lasts more than a day, it's now my phone! My phone is now my personal assistant. Also some unofficial Minecraft works too!

I know what you mean though, when I was a kid it was a dream to have a tv watch, best I could manage was a portable CRT B+W screen that weighed a ton. I always find your videos so satisfying and honest. You cover each and every information so that me as a viewer can decide easily whether to buy or not. I'm still debating on whether to buy ticwris or lemfo, since ticwris has face unlock which is cool. What would you suggest honestly? And have you tried wearing the watch upside down lol, how does it look and feel? I meant the watch is in horizontal way but can it be worn vertical too? Thanks for the kind words. I prefer the MAX because of the advanced software. It actually looks and feels pretty good when you get used to it. I haven't found a way to wear it vertical. It would be nice to be on a pivot point on the band so you could twist it like turning a phone.

How do you feel about the KOSPET variants? I bought the 2.4" version and loved it but the band broke pretty quickly and the battery life barely made it through a day. I am trying the stainless steel 2.8" version now as the battery is supposed to be a bit more capacity (2,800mAh v. 2,000) but I'm concerned about its size being too big (especially as clumsy as I am always running into things and crashing my hands into stuff). Supposed to be here Thursday so we'll see. For the price (mine was $220) you really can't beat the feature set. Apple Watch might be more refined but the idea is that I can leave my phone in the truck on the construction site and have everything I need on my wrist. The 2.4" worked well for that but the MediaTek processor is a bit slow. I can't imagine using the 1GB/16GB version of this, it seems like it would be crippled but maybe fine for the person using it strictly as a watch and not a full-on replacement device. I had a watch phone in 2011 that could make calls. HOLY COW these things have come a LONG way. Android was just in its infancy then. I had a Samsung Moment then, remember those? LOLOLOLOL
Hi! I had a little problem with a weather app that made me have to "wipe" my original setup you had helped me with. The app chewed up 2GB of data in less than 2 hours! I can't seem to get the floating toucher to stay on screen after loading the app and I return to home screen. I have all permissions turned "ON". Thanks, Rocky

I was hesitant but I picked one up on a banggood sale for $136 so figured we would try it. So far just playing around with it for a couple days to make sure it works right, its a cooler little toy then I though it would be. Quick question for you. Do you know if there is a way to add the speak to talk mic button to the keyboard? Be easier for my son to text me from it that way but I cant seem to find a way to setup text to speak on this things keyboard layout. Any way you know of to do it? Thanks again.
Sounds like Dad is having some serious pre-Christmas fun! Best approach is to download the gboard app from the Google Play Store and install it through Settings/Language & Input. It will replace the current keyboard with the Google keyboard and have the mic there just like on your phone.

i have a Ticwris Max and have been using it since January and i love it. just an fyi... an update just came out for it a couple of days ago. mine auto updated and it looks like they have changed the look of a few screens and added a couple of new features.
I only have one questions, I got the same exact one, but it doesn't have so many background. There's only little few options. And download part are all the circle one and doesn't fit the rectangle screen, If I use those, there will be a huge part of. Empty on my screen.
Is it me or the lemfo screen quality and display is superior to the ticwris max on the right? Lemfo looks brighter and clearer on the UI display, please advise. Also do you think the battery is truly rated at 2880 vs lemfo 2700 mah? I know the manufacturer supplier is the same just different software build changes?
The screens are identical but the brightness may be set slightly different at the time of recording this. I often use the Display Brightness app so there's lots of variable settings for brightness as opposed to the fixed settings of the System brightness icon. As for battery, I think they are probably identical. Everything else about these are identical, so I'm pretty sure they are from the same factory and only have different firmware installed. Besides, there's more variance in the actual power available between individual batteries than you'd see in 180 mAh difference in branded size.

Yes and no. For texts and calls yes, you need a SIM. For notifications from your phone (except texts and calls) you can tether it to an app you put on your phone and receive notifications about anything else from your phone to your watch. There's a 3rd party solution for texts as well, just no solution for Bluetooth calling from your watch using your phone.

The band is very wide and sturdy, so it should be OK. There's a new, smaller version on the market which I plan to review soon as well called the MAX S: bit.ly/32BdWaS If your son has a small wrist, this might be a better choice. It even has a 2nd camera on the side.
No, sorry, none of the Android 7.1.1 based Android smartwatches can handle Bluetooth calling. Check out the similar sized LEMFO LEM4 Pro for a similar sized watch that supports Bluetooth calling.

Great to hear you are getting closer to your decision. The bands are not removable easily. See my video on removing the bands on the LEM T and you'll see what I mean.
I own the TicWris Max but about 5 weeks ago the screen went black with nothing but static. I have emailed the company 3 times for repair options but haven't gotten a response. Can you point me in the right direction?
Best overall value for the money is the Kronos Blade Genesis with three separate bands, a charging "Booster Dock" you can actually wear, and a set of earbuds that tether to the watch and come in a large capacity power bank case. Great vids sir. I got this watch after watching your videos. Do you know if using this watch with a SIM card in it reduces battery life by much? I charged it to 100 and turned it off. Woke up turned on and it was at 72 percent. Is this normal or a battery issue?
I haven't done thorough testing of battery life under all different settings of SIM cards in/out, GPS on/of, screen bright, dim, 15 sec or 30 min, etc.
You can change the time in Settings, Date & Time, and turn off automatic. Then you'll have control of the actual settings. Lots of folks do this when they are traveling but want the watch set to their home time. I do it so I can set it for Shenzhen time and know when my partners are at work since I am so many timezones away.
@@SWT Hi. That is not exactly what I wanted to know. Everytime I turn my screen off, when I turn it on again it wants my screen pattern or face unlock to access the watch. Is there any way to extend this time, say 5 or 10 minutes before it required you to unlock it again. It is a bit of a pain to unlock my watch every time I turn the screen off. Thank you.

Is there a way to make phone calls and messages notifs/reply on the Ticwris Max? I've tried Wear OS and BT notifiers, etc and nothing. I sent back the TicWatch Sport because of issues, but at least via Bluetooth you can call and send/receive messages, even from messaging apps.

i actually got the Lemfo Lem 4 pro because of your review a while ago. Im so tempted to get this one too! the Lem 4 pro lagged quite a bit especially running apps, is this one alot smoother? also its not really for games i know but have you tried running any games on it? I read some specs elsewhere which says it uses IPS LCD also?
I put a link in the show notes for the video to some other RUclips videos of gamers running games. It's not my area of expertise, so I rely on others for the gaming aspect of this watch. I'm not sure about the screen, but running Android 7.1.1, I'm not seeing any lag.

Also i trust Lemfo more, as i did alot of digging on TricWris online in chinese and english and found next to no infomation on them except the wrong label, someone posted it as a Kospet previously on gearbest and banggoods but the watch isnt on their facebook page, or official website, messaged Kospet ddirectly waiting for a reply. But Lemfo i fully support as i had my lem 4 pro repaired as the HR monitor wasnt working, im in hk and sent to china very cheaply, repaired good as new no problem. I really really don't think this watchphone is that big. Sure it's bigg'er' than a casio. But it took me about two minutes to forget I was wearing it. I guess different strokes, but not that big. For reference, draw a rectangle 1.65" × 2.34" and confirm the diagonal measurement is 2.86". It's got bezel and a super big watch band, so you account for that too. Still... not TOO big. Just relating my own personal experience. I freaking love this instrument of communication and information. Very happy.
@@SWTHowdy Mr. Ticks! Here's the latest, Trek-date 06/24/2020: First, I never thanked you for tipping me off to the 5~vs~8 megapixel camera rating. FYI: I'm not bothered by the picture quality. Anyway, I loaded that high-tech Launcher onto the TicWris Max. Okay; It has three differrent size formats. I chose the third one (for tablets). It covered a bit over 80% of the watch face. But the important thing is - it works; All the buttons work and all the popout trays work. So here's the thing: I have zero experience with launchers. I mean face-plant zero! But I finally figured out how to highlight and drag. But I forgot to tell you. I still don't have a stylus. So my adult male fingertip is trying to exhale as much as possible. And I'm selecting groups of items at a time, but that's okay IF I can select the right grouping. Well, I can't. It turns out that the designer has a complicated web of groupings for this and that, so Clint Eastwood is in my head saying "Do ya feel lucky... punk?" I've gotta learn sometime, so I say "Sure, why not?". That's when I learned something else. If you mess up, and you forgot to archive the original, you have to uninstall the Trek Launcher AND the Total Launcher, and use the TicWris file cleaner, and hard reboot, and reload those launchers. So I had a hard time, but now I'm looking at the Trek Launcher Theme on my TicWris Max and life is good because by god, it works! Thanks for all your help, Mr. Ticks! Stay safe!

Hi there, is it possible to pair this TICWRIS with an android phone for calling, notifications, etc? I see it has a nano-SIM slot but I really don't want to go 2nd sim unless I can have a second SIM for the same number and plan in the watch? Also how long did it take you to get it from the place you put in the links above? Just want to get some questions answered, but I wanted to buy it TODAY from the link supplied (so you get the credit of course also) Great video by the way.
Sadly, no Android smartwatch running above Android 5.1 (or 6 for a couple of them) can do Bluetooth calling as you describe. As for shipping time, no matter what watch you order or where from, all bets are off right now as Global shipping is giving priority to medical supplies. I'd expect 6 to 8 weeks then be pleasantly surprised if it comes in earlier. Normal time is about 10 days if fast shipping (DHL) is selected.

@@RichTechnologyGroup You're talking about SIM mirroring. like can be done with the 4g version of Samsung Gear S3, and the answer is *NO.* If you want one number to two phones, add the Tic to your account, get another number through Google Voice and share THAT number between both devices. But make sure Ticwris uses your carrier's band: LTE:B1(2100),B2(1900),B3(1800),B5(850),B7(2600),B8(900),B12(700),B17(700),B20(800)
The Ticwris has a heart beat monitor. I would buy it except I prefer a combination of Heart rate AND a Blood Pressure monitor capability. Smart watches are missing greater appeal to health conscious individuals by not having both functions in the same watch. My last smart watch had the Blood pressure monitor and it not accurate but it was consistent enough to be reliable for health monitoring. Love your videos - Your voice acting really keeps me interested in your video, all the way to the end!
@@SWT No, But i did see BP monitoring on a few watches you previewed last year. I even got one of the $20 models and although not perfect, it was consistent enough compared to a medical grade pressure device that I could monitor my BP daily. Yes, not Android but some other O.S. - I hope to find another model based on a similar BP measurement module that will as accurate or better and last longer than the previous PLASTIC model i had last year. I loved that one! Till it popped off my wrist while cutting some trees down in the woods! :)

I bought this watch and I'm sending it back. Inhave a s9+ and it doesn't connect fully with my bluetooth. I get notification but I don't ring when a call comes through. I'm very disappointed that I would have to get a sim card for it to work. And if you buy a sim for it it wont have the same number as your cell so what's the point.
Now that the huge holiday buying days are over, I don't expect discounts until next year. Prices now are set for those that missed the sales but need to buy presents for folks at whatever they cost. Sorry, but it's how business does business. If I can get a discount, I'll definitely post it.

The feature set provided by the Ticwris MAX firmware is much better than the stock LEMFO watch. There's a video about flashing the MAX firmware to the LEM T, but you don't need to do that if you get the MAX directly. As for 4G, you need to check in your country for a carrier supporting the GSM network. I honestly don't know if GPS works for you there. If it works on your phone, it should probably work with either of these watches. GPS integration with running, walking, cycling, etc., is only supported on the MAX version of the firmware.
Hey, any idea where we can buy replacement bands? I did some searching but can't find anything. The only things I found are extra chargers and screen protectors.
The FIRMWARE for the Ticwris MAX is much better all the way around. It, of course, comes installed on the Ticwris MAX, but it can be Flashed to the LEM T and I have a video up about doing that. Otherwise the watches are pretty much identical.
I just got a Lemf 4G and the pedometer does not reset per day. Yesterday's steps are included on today's count. I am confused. What do I need to do to fix? Thank you in advance
I honestly don't know as I've heard multiple point of views. If you do it might improve things and season the battery, or not. If you don't it definitely won't. Of course, there's no real way of knowing either, so use your judgement, I guess.
No, it is not water resistant as you probably are thinking. It might survive some light splashes (like IP65 or so rating), but definitely don't put it in water, shower with it, run water over it while washing hands, etc. There's lots of openings to the inside of the watch, particularly under the bands (see the video where I remove the bands on the LEM T and you'll see what I mean).

Hello, I just received the watch in a good condition, can you help me with one question: How can i copy the data from my computer to the watch because it is not the normal USB cable ?
Transferring files to and from an Android smartwatch is very simple. You attach the 4 pin charging cable to the watch, and plug the other end into your PC or Mac computer. The outer two pins of the wire provide charging power for the watch battery and the inner two pins are used for communication with your computer. The watch should mount on your PC/Mac like an external thumb drive, and you simply drag and drop files and folders to/from the watch the same way you would on a thumb drive. For Mac users, you need to install the app "Android File Transfer", which will automatically run when you plug in your USB cable and connect it to the watch. On the watch you need to set the USB connection for File Transfer. That depends on which watch you are using. Currently Android 10 watches mount automatically so you don't need to do anything (that will change soon through firmware update because it poses a security risk by not requiring you to authorize access). On Android 9, like the APPLLP Pro, you touch the screen after connected and you get a new screen and you touch File Transfer. On Android 7 generally you will get a notification prompt on the screen and, when you access it, you get a dialog to select File Transfer. If that doesn't happen, after you are connected, go to Settings, Connection, USB (may be slightly different wording depending on the watch) and you'll see that screen where you select File Transfer. Disconnecting the wire will close the connection no matter which watch or computer you are using. Remember, you can copy custom watch face folders, app .apk files, music, video, etc., from your computer to the watch, and audio recordings, pictures, video recordings, etc., from your watch to your computer. If you don't want to do all this using the wire, remember you can do it wirelessly using WiFi. My preferred method is the app AirDroid which I have installed on my computers, watches, and phones. The free version allows connection of three devices, which works for me as I'm only doing one transfer at a time. Another method that even works over cellular data is to set up a cloud service, like your Google Drive, to upload files, like photos, videos, etc., to the cloud, then download them to your phone, tablet, PC, NEST screen, whatever. Dropbox works well, too. A little study on your part as to which technique works best for you will be well worth it in the long run as you'll learn to master that technique and it will become second nature to you over time. So have fun exploring!
@@SWT I have problem with charger,i charged the watch through the quick charger yesterday for 4 hours, but the watch charged very slowly and it's very hot, it kept saying that it overloaded the power. Now, it's hard for me to charge eventhough i've waited for 3 hours so that it can back to normal. Whenever i charge right now, it always connect and disconnect charging all the time
@@philippeleblanc856 am using windows pc, download the latest version sp flash tool and the ticwris max fiirmware all available from the link provided by SmartWatch Ticks. make sure the watch is detected by your pc USB extarct the downloaded files run the flash tool exe make sure it is on DOWNLOAD ONLY select the scatter-loading file from the firmware image folder which will be MT6739_Android_scatter.txt turn the watch off connect to pc using the charging dock then click download button from the top left on the flash tool and let it do the work it'll indicate when finish, that's it
@@akhenatencleopatra121 FYI- When ready to flash, press download in the flash tool AND THEN plug your charging usb (thats already connected to the watch) into your PC. At least thats the only way it worked for me. Plugging in the usb and then clicking Download wouldnt allow my pc to recognize the usb cable. Just my 2 cents. Also, only use the system.img as it will leave all your original data on the watch but add only the new TICWRIS features. Saves you so much time by not having to reconfigure all the settings and apps again. Cheers.
What about the abillity to utilize this to control my phone so I do not have to have a seperate sim for the watch. I just want to view my GPS from my phone on my Watch.
Don't know how to do that. If you connect your watch to WiFi and log into the same Google account as your phone, you might be able to run Google Location services or something on your watch that shows your phone's location. I think that's what you are asking.
Should be as simple as going to Settings, then Connection, then activating WiFi, choosing your router, and putting your password, just like you would do on your phone. After that you can toggle it on and off from the swipe down screen from the watch face.

Great watch but does it link up to the lg g8x dual screen phone or the Samsung note 9? Also does this watch work on it own data so you can make phone calls etc. Without being in range of your phone or wifi base? I have the lemfo lem4 pro and it does not work on it own data. Sad cause other then that it's a good smartwatch.
Sure your LEM4 will work on its own data. Just put in a compatible SIM with a data plan or connect the WiFi to your router. It's just a phone in a small format. Nothing different.
@@SWTthanks for replying and yes.. the lem4 does work off the wifi and my phone, but only if I'm close to the modem or phone. When I'm far away from either one there is no internet service nor can I make a call etc. I tried with both telus and bell companies and it will not work unless I have it linked up with a phone or modem. That's why I wanted to see if they changed this with the new LEMFO smartwatches
@@SWT may I ask where you are located? Cause here in Canada, mobile companies will not sell packages for a smartwatch. It does not work. I have tried with my lem4. Now maybe it works in china or Japan, but not here in canada.. now.. is this smartwatch the same as the old setup or have they upgraded in this field so that it works completely on it's own in Canada?
Sorry, I'm in the USA so I don't know the telecommunications situation in other countries. Even here in the States it varies region to region, urban to rural, etc., which is why we always advise to check on your own in your own area to get the true facts. I've found if I get a true technically knowledgable, customer focused sales rep at your phone company who's excited to explore this with you, you can learn a lot. Sad thing is, that kind of employee is one in 100, so you need to work hard to find him/her.
Do you have any idea how to keep an app running in the background? I have an app that needs to stay on, but every time I try to exit from the screen, it stops the app running.

Even though I like the Bubble and Next 3d launchers, I decided to focus on the Total and Nova launchers, because they are most recommended by the Trek theme creator. @@SWT Howdy! I need to make a correction. I had told you I was corresponding with the creator of the Trek Launcher, but that was more am assumption on my part. I have not met the designer. I have been corresponding with someone who does a lot of modifications on that launcher code. Sorry for any misrepresentation on my part. @@SWT Howdy Mr. Ticks! Hey, I just found out something and wanted to tell you. I was shopping again, when I ran across a "Reviews" section on one of the websites. On April 3, 2020, a man apparently had loaded, and was using, Nova Launcher on his Ticwris Max, and he was delighted with it. So at least I know that some kind of launcher works on it. My Ticwr Max is "in transport" from Jacksonville, Florida.
I purchased Ticwris Max... set it up. Almost what I was looking for (which is a replacement for my smart phone). Google assistant works pretty good. I can say "call wife" and it dials. WHY IS THERE NO MUTE ON THIS THING ? I can not really use this for meeting or long phone calls, really annoying. I installed the gboard, but it does not quite fit right in the text message screen and it does not work at all in a typical webpage to enter "text to speach". But the deal breaker was android auto still does not work WTH ! It is a rectangular screen and all. I would have expected something like this would be easy... take a typical smart phone... shrink it put it on the wrist and viola.
That is a good question man and after some searching I can't find a way to use an Android device as a Bluetooth speaker for another Android device.There's ways to use an Android phone as a PC and Smart TV speaker but not from Android to Android as far as I can see. This is possibly the one caveat of having such a unique device running full Android. Unless they have made an app that comes with it (which I doubt) you are probably out of luck. There may be a workaround that I haven't found yet as that would certainly be a handy feature.
If you ever find a workaround Cyba IT, please let us know! At this point, it appears no Android 7.1.1 smartwatch will support Bluetooth calling. The LEMFO LEM4 PRO can handle it with a separate app, but it uses Android 5.1, which is compatible.

Anecdotally speaking, My ticwris max will go from full battery to like 80% pretty quickly, but it will hover between 70% and 20% for 3 or 4 days. If I wake up with 54%, I'll go to bed with 38% sometimes. It's pretty impressive.

Just an FYI for everyone, once you get it in your hands the first thing you're gonna realize is that it's NOT as big as you imagined. And the 2nd thing that really made me smile was that there was a firmware update waiting to be downloaded & installed! With just a little additional engineering, I'd like to see a future version where you can just unclip the screen from the bands and use it as a standalone phone/media player/tiny computer.
A watch company called NO.1 tried that a long time ago an it was really cool. The best was the one that would tether to your phone and could works as a mini extension of your phone. So if your phone rang, you popped out your watch and answered with a little chicklet held up to your ear. The should was really good, too. It wasn't an Android watch or anything, but it was a great idea. Thanks for the comment. Brings back fond 2016 style memories.
If you do enough searching you will find wrist guwwrds for many smaller phone types. Via blue tooth and an earbud you answer phone calls. There's a reason armies worlwide have their elite troops using these.

giving an update on my experience. i have had my Ticwris Max a little over a year now and it's worked great. but lately the charging contacts have worn out. the pins from the dock have actually worn down a couple of the pads in the watch, and corrosion from sweat is also eating them up. before i'd have to clean them about once a month, but now i have to do it every day and keep messing with the position or it won't stay connected to the charger. a few times now, i've woken up to a dead battery because of this. i highly recommend putting a piece of tape over the charging port when wearing it a lot. i used mine as my primary phone this whole time
Great advice about taping over the contacts on the back. I take a small piece if electrical tape, fold the end over on itself to create and easy lift tab, and put that over the contacts of any watch I plan to wear, especially if I will be exercising. Easy to remove and I keep it on the frame of my computer to grab whenever I need. When it starts to wear out after about 10 uses or so, I just make another one. I use the 1/2" roll of electrical tape and cut off a 1/4 inch strip. That covers most 4 pin contacts without sticking out past the watch edge. Great habit to get into to save a very expensive watch from ultimate demise. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Do you recommend to buy the latest TICWRIS MAX S ?
I can't find any advantages on MAX S with smaller display and battery capacity.
I think I'm actually going to like the MAX S ( bit.ly/32BdWaS ) better than the MAX because it's about the size of the original LEMFO MEM4 PRO but with the addition of a side camera. I want to try pictures and videos with that camera on a rectangular screen. If it's good, then I'll probably wear the MAX S more than the larger MAX. I'm trying to get a prototype of the MAX S for review.

I have found Netflix version 4.16 works well on this device plus latest Stan and Prime version 3.0.242 also work. Lasts more than a day, it's now my phone! My phone is now my personal assistant. Also some unofficial Minecraft works too!

Thanks for the kind words. I prefer the MAX because of the advanced software. It actually looks and feels pretty good when you get used to it. I haven't found a way to wear it vertical. It would be nice to be on a pivot point on the band so you could twist it like turning a phone.

Absolutely. You can connect it to WiFi or even make it a WiFi hotspot to run your tablet (if you put a data SIM in it, of course).

How do you feel about the KOSPET variants? I bought the 2.4" version and loved it but the band broke pretty quickly and the battery life barely made it through a day. I am trying the stainless steel 2.8" version now as the battery is supposed to be a bit more capacity (2,800mAh v. 2,000) but I'm concerned about its size being too big (especially as clumsy as I am always running into things and crashing my hands into stuff). Supposed to be here Thursday so we'll see. For the price (mine was $220) you really can't beat the feature set. Apple Watch might be more refined but the idea is that I can leave my phone in the truck on the construction site and have everything I need on my wrist. The 2.4" worked well for that but the MediaTek processor is a bit slow. I can't imagine using the 1GB/16GB version of this, it seems like it would be crippled but maybe fine for the person using it strictly as a watch and not a full-on replacement device.
I had a watch phone in 2011 that could make calls. HOLY COW these things have come a LONG way. Android was just in its infancy then. I had a Samsung Moment then, remember those? LOLOLOLOL

Hi! I had a little problem with a weather app that made me have to "wipe" my original setup you had helped me with. The app chewed up 2GB of data in less than 2 hours!

Can one connect this bluetooth with an IPhone X ? Would I be able to see my messages ? Or send messages . I know the first gen Apple Watch didn’t need a SIM card to receive text messages for make calls . I would just connect it WiFi .
There's limited support for iPhones. I think you can see texts but not send them, but I'm not sure.
Hey Smartwatch Ticks. Thanks for putting together such a great video on this watch. My son was very interested in this watch for Christmas. I was hesitant but I picked one up on a banggood sale for $136 so figured we would try it. So far just playing around with it for a couple days to make sure it works right, its a cooler little toy then I though it would be. Quick question for you. Do you know if there is a way to add the speak to talk mic button to the keyboard? Be easier for my son to text me from it that way but I cant seem to find a way to setup text to speak on this things keyboard layout. Any way you know of to do it? Thanks again.
Sounds like Dad is having some serious pre-Christmas fun! Best approach is to download the gboard app from the Google Play Store and install it through Settings/Language & Input. It will replace the current keyboard with the Google keyboard and have the mic there just like on your phone.

I only have one questions, I got the same exact one, but it doesn't have so many background. There's only little few options. And download part are all the circle one and doesn't fit the rectangle screen, If I use those, there will be a huge part of. Empty on my screen.

So does the wrist band fit all wrist size? An, will it go with TMobile service?
It will work with T-Mobile and AT&T in the USA. The band is designed for folks with larger arms, so it will flop around on a preteen.
Is it me or the lemfo screen quality and display is superior to the ticwris max on the right? Lemfo looks brighter and clearer on the UI display, please advise. Also do you think the battery is truly rated at 2880 vs lemfo 2700 mah? I know the manufacturer supplier is the same just different software build changes?
The screens are identical but the brightness may be set slightly different at the time of recording this. I often use the Display Brightness app so there's lots of variable settings for brightness as opposed to the fixed settings of the System brightness icon. As for battery, I think they are probably identical. Everything else about these are identical, so I'm pretty sure they are from the same factory and only have different firmware installed. Besides, there's more variance in the actual power available between individual batteries than you'd see in 180 mAh difference in branded size.

Do you need a SIM card in order to connect to your phone to receive text, email, and calls?
Yes and no. For texts and calls yes, you need a SIM. For notifications from your phone (except texts and calls) you can tether it to an app you put on your phone and receive notifications about anything else from your phone to your watch. There's a 3rd party solution for texts as well, just no solution for Bluetooth calling from your watch using your phone.
Nice idea for a super sized smart watch. Why do I get the distinct impression Apple will soon release a supersized smartwatch.

No, you can't do that with any Android 7 smartwatches. A similar Android 5.1 watch that supports Bluetooth calling is the LEMFO LEM4
i have the ticwris max and the shell is broke is there a replacement for it i unscrewed the for bolts and i need to replace the whole shell i have new watch bands for it also

The band is very wide and sturdy, so it should be OK. There's a new, smaller version on the market which I plan to review soon as well called the MAX S: bit.ly/32BdWaS If your son has a small wrist, this might be a better choice. It even has a 2nd camera on the side.

No, sorry, none of the Android 7.1.1 based Android smartwatches can handle Bluetooth calling. Check out the similar sized LEMFO LEM4 Pro for a similar sized watch that supports Bluetooth calling.

I own the TicWris Max but about 5 weeks ago the screen went black with nothing but static. I have emailed the company 3 times for repair options but haven't gotten a response. Can you point me in the right direction?

Great vids sir. I got this watch after watching your videos. Do you know if using this watch with a SIM card in it reduces battery life by much? I charged it to 100 and turned it off. Woke up turned on and it was at 72 percent. Is this normal or a battery issue?
I haven't done thorough testing of battery life under all different settings of SIM cards in/out, GPS on/of, screen bright, dim, 15 sec or 30 min, etc.
Do you know if there is a way to change the time between you turn the screen off, and have to unlock it again, or is that just an automatic feature?
You can change the time in Settings, Date & Time, and turn off automatic. Then you'll have control of the actual settings. Lots of folks do this when they are traveling but want the watch set to their home time. I do it so I can set it for Shenzhen time and know when my partners are at work since I am so many timezones away.
@@SWT Hi. That is not exactly what I wanted to know. Everytime I turn my screen off, when I turn it on again it wants my screen pattern or face unlock to access the watch. Is there any way to extend this time, say 5 or 10 minutes before it required you to unlock it again. It is a bit of a pain to unlock my watch every time I turn the screen off. Thank you.

Be sure to watch the LEMFO LEMT videos as well. You'll learn something from both of them. The firmware on the MAX is much better. Good choice.

Is there a way to make phone calls and messages notifs/reply on the Ticwris Max? I've tried Wear OS and BT notifiers, etc and nothing. I sent back the TicWatch Sport because of issues, but at least via Bluetooth you can call and send/receive messages, even from messaging apps.

i actually got the Lemfo Lem 4 pro because of your review a while ago. Im so tempted to get this one too! the Lem 4 pro lagged quite a bit especially running apps, is this one alot smoother? also its not really for games i know but have you tried running any games on it? I read some specs elsewhere which says it uses IPS LCD also?
I put a link in the show notes for the video to some other RUclips videos of gamers running games. It's not my area of expertise, so I rely on others for the gaming aspect of this watch. I'm not sure about the screen, but running Android 7.1.1, I'm not seeing any lag.

Also i trust Lemfo more, as i did alot of digging on TricWris online in chinese and english and found next to no infomation on them except the wrong label, someone posted it as a Kospet previously on gearbest and banggoods but the watch isnt on their facebook page, or official website, messaged Kospet ddirectly waiting for a reply. But Lemfo i fully support as i had my lem 4 pro repaired as the HR monitor wasnt working, im in hk and sent to china very cheaply, repaired good as new no problem. I really really don't think this watchphone is that big. Sure it's bigg'er' than a casio. But it took me about two minutes to forget I was wearing it. I guess different strokes, but not that big. For reference, draw a rectangle 1.65" × 2.34" and confirm the diagonal measurement is 2.86". It's got bezel and a super big watch band, so you account for that too. Still... not TOO big. Just relating my own personal experience. I freaking love this instrument of communication and information. Very happy.

@@SWTHowdy Mr. Ticks! Here's the latest, Trek-date 06/24/2020: First, I never thanked you for tipping me off to the 5~vs~8 megapixel camera rating. FYI: I'm not bothered by the picture quality. Anyway, I loaded that high-tech Launcher onto the TicWris Max. Okay; It has three differrent size formats. I chose the third one (for tablets). It covered a bit over 80% of the watch face. But the important thing is - it works; All the buttons work and all the popout trays work.
So here's the thing: I have zero experience with launchers. I mean face-plant zero! But I finally figured out how to highlight and drag. But I forgot to tell you. I still don't have a stylus. So my adult male fingertip is trying to exhale as much as possible. And I'm selecting groups of items at a time, but that's okay IF I can select the right grouping. Well, I can't. It turns out that the designer has a complicated web of groupings for this and that, so Clint Eastwood is in my head saying "Do ya feel lucky... punk?" I've gotta learn sometime, so I say "Sure, why not?". That's when I learned something else. If you mess up, and you forgot to archive the original, you have to uninstall the Trek Launcher AND the Total Launcher, and use the TicWris file cleaner, and hard reboot, and reload those launchers. So I had a hard time, but now I'm looking at the Trek Launcher Theme on my TicWris Max and life is good because by god, it works! Thanks for all your help, Mr. Ticks! Stay safe!

Hi there, is it possible to pair this TICWRIS with an android phone for calling, notifications, etc? I see it has a nano-SIM slot but I really don't want to go 2nd sim unless I can have a second SIM for the same number and plan in the watch? Also how long did it take you to get it from the place you put in the links above? Sadly, no Android smartwatch running above Android 5.1 (or 6 for a couple of them) can do Bluetooth calling as you describe. As for shipping time, no matter what watch you order or where from, all bets are off right now as Global shipping is giving priority to medical supplies. I'd expect 6 to 8 weeks then be pleasantly surprised if it comes in earlier. Normal time is about 10 days if fast shipping (DHL) is selected.

But make sure Ticwris uses your carrier's band: LTE:B1(2100),B2(1900),B3(1800),B5(850),B7(2600),B8(900),B12(700),B17(700),B20(800)

The Ticwris has a heart beat monitor. I would buy it except I prefer a combination of Heart rate AND a Blood Pressure monitor capability. Smart watches are missing greater appeal to health conscious individuals by not having both functions in the same watch. My last smart watch had the Blood pressure monitor and it not accurate but it was consistent enough to be reliable for health monitoring. Love your videos - Your voice acting really keeps me interested in your video, all the way to the end!

@@SWT No, But i did see BP monitoring on a few watches you previewed last year. I even got one of the $20 models and although not perfect, it was consistent enough compared to a medical grade pressure device that I could monitor my BP daily. Yes, not Android but some other O.S. - I hope to find another model based on a similar BP measurement module that will as accurate or better and last longer than the previous PLASTIC model i had last year. I loved that one! Till it popped off my wrist while cutting some trees down in the woods! :)

It does not work as a tethered Bluetooth watch for calling. You need a SIM to make calls with ALL Android 7 watches.

I bought this watch and I'm sending it back. Inhave a s9+ and it doesn't connect fully with my bluetooth. I get notification but I don't ring when a call comes through. I'm very disappointed that I would have to get a sim card for it to work. And if you buy a sim for it it wont have the same number as your cell so what's the point.

Haha, no, it's an ANDROID device. It might tether to an iPhone, but it definitely won't run Apple's apps.

Howdy Mr. Ticks! I love the Ticwris MAX 4G Smart Watch Phone so much, I'm thinking about buying a second. But I have a recurring popup I'm not sure about. It says "Please turn off the 'don't keep activities' option in developer options." Are you familiar with it's meaning?

The feature set provided by the Ticwris MAX firmware is much better than the stock LEMFO watch. There's a video about flashing the MAX firmware to the LEM T, but you don't need to do that if you get the MAX directly. As for 4G, you need to check in your country for a carrier supporting the GSM network. I honestly don't know if GPS works for you there. If it works on your phone, it should probably work with either of these watches. GPS integration with running, walking, cycling, etc., is only supported on the MAX version of the firmware.

The FIRMWARE for the Ticwris MAX is much better all the way around. It, of course, comes installed on the Ticwris MAX, but it can be Flashed to the LEM T and I have a video up about doing that. Otherwise the watches are pretty much identical.
I just got a Lemf 4G and the pedometer does not reset per day. Yesterday's steps are included on today's count. I am confused. What do I need to do to fix? Thank you in advance

I honestly don't know as I've heard multiple point of views. If you do it might improve things and season the battery, or not. If you don't it definitely won't. Of course, there's no real way of knowing either, so use your judgement, I guess.

When I saw the specifications of the watch it said that it is water resistant but is it really water resistant???
No, it is not water resistant as you probably are thinking. It might survive some light splashes (like IP65 or so rating), but definitely don't put it in water, shower with it, run water over it while washing hands, etc. There's lots of openings to the inside of the watch, particularly under the bands (see the video where I remove the bands on the LEM T and you'll see what I mean).

It might be as a result of some firmware tweaking. Ticwris has made NINE updates to the MAX firmware so far. LEMFO, zero.

Hello, I just received the watch in a good condition, can you help me with one question:
How can i copy the data from my computer to the watch because it is not the normal USB cable ?
Transferring files to and from an Android smartwatch is very simple. You attach the 4 pin charging cable to the watch, and plug the other end into your PC or Mac computer. The outer two pins of the wire provide charging power for the watch battery and the inner two pins are used for communication with your computer. The watch should mount on your PC/Mac like an external thumb drive, and you simply drag and drop files and folders to/from the watch the same way you would on a thumb drive. For Mac users, you need to install the app "Android File Transfer", which will automatically run when you plug in your USB cable and connect it to the watch.
On the watch you need to set the USB connection for File Transfer. That depends on which watch you are using. Currently Android 10 watches mount automatically so you don't need to do anything (that will change soon through firmware update because it poses a security risk by not requiring you to authorize access). On Android 9, like the APPLLP Pro, you touch the screen after connected and you get a new screen and you touch File Transfer. On Android 7 generally you will get a notification prompt on the screen and, when you access it, you get a dialog to select File Transfer. If that doesn't happen, after you are connected, go to Settings, Connection, USB (may be slightly different wording depending on the watch) and you'll see that screen where you select File Transfer.
Disconnecting the wire will close the connection no matter which watch or computer you are using. Remember, you can copy custom watch face folders, app .apk files, music, video, etc., from your computer to the watch, and audio recordings, pictures, video recordings, etc., from your watch to your computer.
If you don't want to do all this using the wire, remember you can do it wirelessly using WiFi. My preferred method is the app AirDroid which I have installed on my computers, watches, and phones. The free version allows connection of three devices, which works for me as I'm only doing one transfer at a time. Another method that even works over cellular data is to set up a cloud service, like your Google Drive, to upload files, like photos, videos, etc., to the cloud, then download them to your phone, tablet, PC, NEST screen, whatever. Dropbox works well, too.
A little study on your part as to which technique works best for you will be well worth it in the long run as you'll learn to master that technique and it will become second nature to you over time. So have fun exploring!
@@SWT I have problem with charger,i charged the watch through the quick charger yesterday for 4 hours, but the watch charged very slowly and it's very hot, it kept saying that it overloaded the power. Now, it's hard for me to charge eventhough i've waited for 3 hours so that it can back to normal. Whenever i charge right now, it always connect and disconnect charging all the time

@@philippeleblanc856 am using windows pc, download the latest version sp flash tool and the ticwris max fiirmware all available from the link provided by SmartWatch Ticks. make sure the watch is detected by your pc USB extarct the downloaded files run the flash tool exe make sure it is on DOWNLOAD ONLY select the scatter-loading file from the firmware image folder which will be MT6739_Android_scatter.txt turn the watch off connect to pc using the charging dock then click download button from the top left on the flash tool and let it do the work it'll indicate when finish, that's it
@@akhenatencleopatra121 FYI- When ready to flash, press download in the flash tool AND THEN plug your charging usb (thats already connected to the watch) into your PC. At least thats the only way it worked for me. Plugging in the usb and then clicking Download wouldnt allow my pc to recognize the usb cable. Just my 2 cents. Also, only use the system.img as it will leave all your original data on the watch but add only the new TICWRIS features. Saves you so much time by not having to reconfigure all the settings and apps again. Cheers.
What about the abillity to utilize this to control my phone so I do not have to have a seperate sim for the watch. I just want to view my GPS from my phone on my Watch.
Don't know how to do that. If you connect your watch to WiFi and log into the same Google account as your phone, you might be able to run Google Location services or something on your watch that shows your phone's location. I think that's what you are asking.

Should be as simple as going to Settings, then Connection, then activating WiFi, choosing your router, and putting your password, just like you would do on your phone. After that you can toggle it on and off from the swipe down screen from the watch face.

I have the lemfo lem4 pro and it does not work on it own data. Sad cause other then that it's a good smartwatch.
Sure your LEM4 will work on its own data. Just put in a compatible SIM with a data plan or connect the WiFi to your router. It's just a phone in a small format. Nothing different.
@@SWTthanks for replying and yes.. the lem4 does work off the wifi and my phone, but only if I'm close to the modem or phone. When I'm far away from either one there is no internet service nor can I make a call etc. I tried with both telus and bell companies and it will not work unless I have it linked up with a phone or modem. That's why I wanted to see if they changed this with the new LEMFO smartwatches
No change. You need a separate SIM in all LEMFO Android smartwatches to be away from everything and have internet service.
@@SWT may I ask where you are located? Cause here in Canada, mobile companies will not sell packages for a smartwatch. It does not work. I have tried with my lem4. Now maybe it works in china or Japan, but not here in canada.. now.. is this smartwatch the same as the old setup or have they upgraded in this field so that it works completely on it's own in Canada?
Sorry, I'm in the USA so I don't know the telecommunications situation in other countries. Even here in the States it varies region to region, urban to rural, etc., which is why we always advise to check on your own in your own area to get the true facts. I've found if I get a true technically knowledgable, customer focused sales rep at your phone company who's excited to explore this with you, you can learn a lot. Sad thing is, that kind of employee is one in 100, so you need to work hard to find him/her.

Even though I like the Bubble and Next 3d launchers, I decided to focus on the Total and Nova launchers, because they are most recommended by the Trek theme creator. It ocurrs to me that I need to know the screen size of the Ticwris Max so I can start practicing designing for it. Do you happen to know the total height/width I need to stay within? Thanks!

@@SWT Howdy! I need to make a correction. I had told you I was corresponding with the creator of the Trek Launcher, but that was more am assumption on my part. I have not met the designer. I have been corresponding with someone who does a lot of modifications on that launcher code. Sorry for any misrepresentation on my part. FYI: My Ticwris Max has been sitting in a processing facility in Miami since the 11th of this month. I asked a couple of Russians to escort Tony Montana down there to expedite matters, but no dice so far.
@@SWT Howdy Mr. Ticks! Hey, I just found out something and wanted to tell you. I was shopping again, when I ran across a "Reviews" section on one of the websites. On April 3, 2020, a man apparently had loaded, and was using, Nova Launcher on his Ticwris Max, and he was delighted with it. So at least I know that some kind of launcher works on it. My Ticwr Max is "in transport" from Jacksonville, Florida.
If you have one of these, don't use the background cleaner, turn it off completely. It's actually quite snappy and useful once you do that.

Is it possible to upgrade Android OS to the latest version ? The internal rechargeable battery can't be replaced...??
No, that's not possible from what I know. We are all hoping they release a Windows 10 version of this soon.

I purchased Ticwris Max... set it up. Almost what I was looking for (which is a replacement for my smart phone). Google assistant works pretty good. I can say "call wife" and it dials. WHY IS THERE NO MUTE ON THIS THING ? I can not really use this for meeting or long phone calls, really annoying. I installed the gboard, but it does not quite fit right in the text message screen and it does not work at all in a typical webpage to enter "text to speach". But the deal breaker was android auto still does not work WTH ! It is a rectangular screen and all. I would have expected something like this would be easy... take a typical smart phone... shrink it put it on the wrist and viola.

Silly question, but does it work well for phone calls via bluetooth aka without a SIM card??
That is a good question man and after some searching I can't find a way to use an Android device as a Bluetooth speaker for another Android device.There's ways to use an Android phone as a PC and Smart TV speaker but not from Android to Android as far as I can see. This is possibly the one caveat of having such a unique device running full Android. Unless they have made an app that comes with it (which I doubt) you are probably out of luck. There may be a workaround that I haven't found yet as that would certainly be a handy feature.
If you ever find a workaround Cyba IT, please let us know! At this point, it appears no Android 7.1.1 smartwatch will support Bluetooth calling. The LEMFO LEM4 PRO can handle it with a separate app, but it uses Android 5.1, which is compatible.
@@SWT will do. Android 5.1, wow that's ancient! It's such a simple feature which this device sorely needs (as well as Android 9.0!)
sprint tmobile will work with this?
