- Sakib Hameed, a qualified Aeronautical Engineer and a holder of an
International Sales & Marketing Management BA opted to emigrate to Turkey in Nov of 2022.
Sakib is British born and bred and in this episode he shares some of his experiences of how life is different out there as compared to the UK and what he has learned and observed in the last couple of years out there.
In this thought-provoking video, we delve into a revealing comparison of masculinity in Turkey vs. the UK. Join us as we explore how societal norms, cultural expectations, and lifestyle differences shape the concept of manhood in these distinct regions.
Many British Muslims are grappling with a crisis of identity, often feeling constrained by the societal and legal frameworks in the UK. Contrasting that, our discussion extends to life in Turkey, where despite economic hardships like 200% inflation, there's a palpable sense of resilience and community spirit. Maybe it's the cultural fabric or the strong sense of hospitality, but Turkish society somehow retains its warmth even in challenging times.
We also touch upon the influence of popular culture, such as the Turkish series "Ertugrul," and its portrayal of genuine masculinity-a far cry from the superficial alpha male trope often seen in the West. Sakib and I discuss how concepts of honour, responsibility, and community service define true masculinity and how these values manifest differently across borders.

Living in turkey for 12 years and working in real estate i can tell you're quite Right.
If you like to go somewhere, go back to your own country, no matter what the situation is but there will always be people of your own. I know lots of Indian and Bangladeshi left UK and Canada, settled down back where they came from.
Lol, if I hadn't seen the username, for a minute there I would have thought I was being trolled!
The goal of hijrah is to establish a Darul-Islam. We had an opening in Türkiye hence the migration.
