Ended up picking this up from target on sale. I was a bit nervous due to some of the reviews on it, but using a blow dryer ended up working fine and I suffered no breakages. It’s a neat set for sure, but there’s not much more you can do with it besides displaying it. I really hope they do some more versions of the thing but I can’t really imagine any of them being too posable besides the spider head given the movie’s designs.

A blow-dryer is a recommended accessory for almost all NECA figures. In the future I hope NECA comes out with their own Branded blow-dryer/Heat gun. It would just feel better than pulling out the old Revlon!

I know a lot of people recommend the “boil ‘n pop” method but I personally find it to be a terrible method for Neca figures. Neca figures are typically made using somewhat flimsy plastic and you risk the paint coming right off even with regular warm water. Use a blow dryer. On a side note, this release reminds me of the Alien 3 creature pack and not in a good way. I will probably still end up picking this up just to display it as the detail is top notch as always, but I don’t see myself actually messing with it further out of fear of breaking something.

I seriously doubt anyone would microwave a figure to heat it up without warping the figure. Man my hands hurt looking at the different accessories

I want to love this set soooo bad, but man did neca do a sloppy job. Such a mess. Would have preferred less fragile articulation and more solid pieces
