Should've gotten the Touring upgrade with the Bose speakers and MUCH nicer seats. I test drove two base model 370zs and those seats are absolutely terrible. I have zero issues with the Bose speakers (and I love to listen to music) or the seats. Corbeau and Braum both make very nice seats for less than $1,000. Also, I've gone 75 mph in my 370z on the highway in a torrential downpour and the car felt very stable. Most likely your tires man. I have Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s and they're awesome.
Here's what's funny ~ you make a video of '8 reasons' of dislike about an iconic 2-seater sports car THAT'S "automatic" and talk about 'road noise', 'fuel consumption' and other inherent tradeoffs for that car? huh?
Great video. I drive the 2017 model and pretty can agree with everything mentioned here. Braum has some good seat options, but it is more on the expensive end. If you do find new seats, hope to see it in a future video!
1) The tread design contributes quite a bit to the road noise. The OEM Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires on my 2019 370Z sport are not that loud, as the void area is minimal and that helps to contribute to practically no tread block squiggle. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that I put on afterward are even quieter. 2) The lack of cup holders isn't a big deal to me, as the center one suffices. 3) The car is geared for performance, so the gas mileage does suffer. I have found that the gas mileage improves if I use a blended 93 octane gas versus the straight 91 octane that is the most we can get at the pump here in California. 4) This complaint is really a matter of personal preference. Nissan has changed and upgraded things over the years to make it a better driver's car. For example, Nissan upgraded the clutch starting in 2018 to an aftermarket Exedy unit that is far superior to what they had been using before. In 2019 the differential was beefed up with a larger fluid capacity and better finning to dissipate heat. The people who appreciate the car for what it is don't have a problem with the lack of the latest electronic gizmos and doodads on it; others should buy a Civic Type R or a VW GTI. For how many years did the Porsche 911 remain essentially unchanged? 5) I do agree that the visibility is subpar in this car. The A roof pillars are too thick and the rear-view mirrors are too big, hindering visibility off center in the forward direction. Visibility in the rear quarter panel direction is poor and proper mirror alignment is critical so as to minimize blind spots. In backing out of a parking space with adjacent cars makes you blind to oncoming traffic until your rear end is well out into the lane, so I back out of these spaces slowly and carefully. 6) That's one of the reasons that I got the sport pkg option for my car with its 8-speaker Bose sound system. It has two subwoofers under the rear mat and the quality of sound is fantastic. I think Nissan upgraded the sound system on the later base models with a 6-speaker system that has two woofers behind the seats. I agree with you that a car should have a good radio/sound system. 7) I've never had a problem with driving in any kind of rain on either of the two sets of tires that I've had on the car. When the roads are wet I do leave my traction control activated, as I normally drive with it disabled. I've driven at highway speeds in light to fairly heavy rain without a problem, perhaps because these Michelin tires are one of the best for braking and handling on wet roads. My next set of tires, probably the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, will not handle anywhere near to how my current tires do in the rain. 8) It's obviously your physique that doesn't agree with the seats. I'm a very slender guy and i find my cloth seats quite comfortable and well supporting. I am, however, going to replace my seats with some better bolstered Recaros or Sparco semi-race seats. It sounds as if the Z is not a good match for you, perhaps a Mustang GT would work better for you.
I bought a 2020 Sport Touring because: it does NOT have all the High Tech Battery Draining BS the the Vette, Mustang, Camaro and more power than the Miata, BRZ.....enough Said.... Bro you should have got the top trim level....Wa Wa Wa.....not a bad video Dude
I have a 2014 Touring, with the Bose system, it sounds great. With the road noise you have to crank it up lol. Seats on the Touring feel good, i'm a 290 lbs 5' 11" guy and the car is more comfortable then the mustang, BRZ and other cars I tried. It doesnt have a useless backseat taking up driver space.
I own a manual 2003 350z touring, i love almost everything about it tbh. Mine has the bose audio system it sounds really good. Im 6'2 180lbs I fit very well and the leather seats fit me perfect and feel amazing and its very quick for a 2003 car
Bro to be honest.. your Z looks like a fake order from ebay/wish. & i can totaly understand your points. I never knew that nissan make those terrible cheap versions of 370z. I'm glad, that i had the 40th anniversary edition. With black paint & red seats. I also had front parking sensors, bose audio, display in middle & alot more. It was released in 2010. I prefer that, even over the nismo edition.
Driving a propper sport car and not liking the cup holders? The noise? The mileage?? And the view when turning? Im sorry but you should drive diesel truck
Mine isn't bad in the rain, I am in fl, I run cooper sport RS3S Zenon's. No stress at all, they need a 4-way alignment once a year. That is one of the issues these cars have, the suspension gets out of alignment very easy. it only takes one bad bump and, YES the seats are S and the steering wheel is for a truck.
Also agree about the seats, that and the truly scarely lack of visibility make me second though a car that I would otherwise have jumped on as far as buying...Im small framed ,Much smaller than you, yet its the side bolsters that feel not wide enough, so its like my lats are in a vise..anyone thats really built, Man, I got no clue how u could fit comfortably in that narrow gap! its like they were made for little asian people...maybe they were! the other thing that kills me about the seats is they begin to hurt the lower back and despite all the adjustments possible, nothing allieviates the discomfort....On a different note, I remember the torture of owning a car with back destroying seats...it was an 82 supra with the performance package and those damn recaro lookalikes...initially they looked and Felt so cool but that beginning of discomfort, like you said, it progressed into being so bad I couldnt keep the car..my back was all but destroyed in the lower discs... got an 87 rx7 turbo wich had the Best seats ive Ever had in a car...after 6 months, my back was normal again. miss that car!
You pointed out some important things to know and you are correct about backing out. You can't see much and the seats really are uncomfortable. I just wish you would've put out your video before I bought my 370z, assuming you bought yours 1st. Also, I'm surprised you didn't say that you bumped your head getting in or out of the car. Anyway good video.
I've driven sports cars all of my life and went from a Trans Am to Mazda's first RX-7, and then their second generation, and those cars were very scary in the rain since I hydroplaned twice, but both times it was my fault since my tires were very worn. I then switched to Z's and had a 300ZX, 350Z, and a 370Z which were much better and more powerful than the Mazda's. I then switched to a Cadillac ELR when they were discontinued due to their high price and was able to afford one when the prices came way down. The Caddy was a beautiful and very luxurious car, but was heavy and not as much fun to drive as the Z. Being a hybrid also made it very economical and I drove it two years out of the five I owned it without putting a drop of gas in it. I sold it last August since I moved into a condo where parking was in the first floor garage so I had no place to plug it in, so I bought my second 370Z which was a 2013 Base model which needed a little work. My first 370Z was a Touring model so it had a Bose system in it which was still crap and everything else was pretty much the same as the Base except the seats had some leather trim which were the same seats. I will say in defense of the Bose system, the Cadillac had one which sounded the best of any system I've ever heard in a car which I always listened to since the car made no noise. My biggest complaint is how low the car is since I am 73 years old and getting in and out of it isn't as easy as it used to be, but that's not the cars fault. My real biggest complaint is they don't put a back up camera in the Base model. The Touring model had one that projected in the rear view mirror, and how much would that cost them to put one in the Base, since the car is their flagship. The Z's are notorious for poor rear vision, and trying to navigate out of the tight parking area in the communal garage is very difficult not being able to see the cars parked in back of you.
I'm a big guy as well but, my 2019 nismo seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever had in a sports car. My 03 350z touring aren't so great. Love the vids bro.
Just came across this video and yes I’m similar build as you and my god the seats are beyond terrible. Did you end up replacing them? If so, which ones did you go with?
I’m glad I bought the G37s Coupe instead of the Z, it was much cheaper and I have way more room, not to mention it’s so comfortable. But I live in the rolling hills of CT so unfortunately I have to try and sell this soon for an AWD model, that sadly only comes in auto. Great daily tho.
Ouch yea that seat is unacceptable it doesn’t even matter if it’s specific to your body type or not for YOU it’s not working and that padding is unacceptable for ANYONE. but replace the seat brother i don’t want to see you getting a blood clot or something crazy from extended driving on that
They're all pretty scary in the rain, even with traction control on. If you don't modulate the throttle and/or clutch you can break the rear end loose very easily. I completely agree about the seats though, it's like the were purpose built to pinch your sciatic nerve. I got a good gel cushion which lifts my legs up above the level of the bolster which solves the problem. Yes you would ideally want to sit lower in a sports car, but a 50 dollar cushion is a hell of a lot less expensive than replacing the whole seat.
Oh and these cars have some camber from factory and with the short and wide wheel base with wide tires it isn’t all that good in rain. Ours isn’t that bad tho it could be your tires
I have a 2017 Nissan 370Z sport package 6spd and I have the Bose sound system with no navigation and its great everything u need and stuff you don’t I use the navigation on my phone so its a perfect set up
Tom Eng I plan on getting back into a mustang very soon! Have somethings set in motion! I do love the challenger though, does fit me very well. My only beef with them is that I love auto crossing and doing twisty things and it just isn’t the best car for that, neither is a mustang to be fair I guess, but the challenger just feels too large for my liking
Nice to see another dark blue 370z same as mine. Seems like everyone got white black grey. Tyre noise, get some nice exhaust, hfc, nice quite tyres and problem is solved. In the wet is scary, i’ve had few close calls, but lsd does help.
hey on the speakers thing, check behind the seats. there should be a speaker behind each seat. see about getting the nismo seats. found some on ebay a pair for about $3K. they are more comfortable
What tires do you have out of curiosity? I’ve had some summer tires that handle ridiculously terrible in the rain. Even all seasons. It’s not excusable. I’m sure the platform does help
I own a 1991 twin turbo Z, I'm a Z car fan forever. Personally I think the 370Z is a great car. I think your video is hilarious, since most of your gripes are about insignificant 'little bitty quirks'....as far as the seats, there are a lot of excellent aftermarket seats that can solve your comfort complaints. Start shopping !
I used to own two different s197, been watching your videos lately about the Z and I bought a 2014 Z370 fully loaded. Can’t wait for it to arrive!! Keep it up
I have a 2010 base, It is almost exactly the same, I have an S197GT500 That car has changed 4 times since 2008. to 2020. the newest Z is the same F'ing car it was in 2010. Cool vid new sub.
I think you should be more happy driving a Truck/SUV. Get into off road/ overland scene like Chevy Colorado, Jeep Gladiator, Ford Ranger, Toyota 4-Runner, Jeep Rubicon, Ford Bronco instead of sport cars scene. Allot of drivers that where into street scene are switching into Overlanding/ Off Roading.✌🏻
Just purchased a 2020 370Z with AM/FM/SAT with CD Player. Inserted a USB stick and I literally have to wait about 10 minutes every time until the songs start playing. All the time the screen says "Reading USB" until the music starts. This stick works fine in my 2013 Sonata and the 2013 Genesis Coupe I traded in.
I totally LOL with the vocalized frustration about the seat. He is too funny! I TOTALLY AGREE with not safe in the rain. I have 2012 370Z & on the freeway, while raining- I hydroplaned ALL over the freeway! I don't know how we (Z & I) survived!!!
After owing my 370z 2018 sport for a month I don’t really hate anything about it I guess I can say I hate how dusty my car gets 😩 I wash it one day and the next morning it’s dusty I live in Texas so maybe that’s why haha
ive owned an 09 manual trans 370z since new. its not a car u buy for comfort, fuel economy or cargo space. need to own another car for daily driving. although its outdated thats another reason to get one before it disappears. the body shape is timeless! its raw, mechanical feeling without intrusive tech. these types of cars will go away soon. the manufacturer only gives u the basics. need to add oil cooler, better suspension tires etc... if refinement is what u want this is the wrong car.
Wish I had seen this review last year. I have a 2011 FX35 with nav and Bose audio. Fantastic machine, driven it for seven years and hopefully another seven. The Bose audio sounds great, but the nav sucks. I recently bought a 2020 370Z used, Sport Touring trim. It has...the same Bose audio and almost identical nav unit as my 2011 FX35. Still a fantastic machine. Basically the coupe version of my FX35. The seats fit me fine but that's because I'm 5'7".
You made a good solid video my man. I recently purchased a used 2020 z. I’m 6’0 and around 180 on a good day 😂. I drive the car regularly (daily) and haven’t noticed that hard bar in my left leg. My biggest complaint is the back latch. I have to hit it twice. Or hit the latch and pull simultaneously. Other than that I’m in love with this car. It’s fun. No bullsh*t. And I couldn’t be happier with it. Enough scoot for the daily and fun on the track. After a couple minor mods. All love. 🛴🛴💨🤌
3 months ago I bought a 2010 370 Roadster, absolutely love this car! Having aid this, loved your vid. Loved your rants, great use of humour in describing your pet peeves! Good to know about deriving in the rain & fully agree with visibility concerning the passenger mirror!
About to buy one. I’m a big guy too. Had to adjust seats down to lowest level to hv average space. But it’s a Z and I’ve always wanted one. Commute about 25 minutes one way. Will see how I feel about it in 3 months. Excellent video.
Ace Ventura he got it because he liked the auto better than the manual but its probably cause he couldn’t see himself driving a tough clutch around as a daily.
What happened to the mustang? Don’t take this wrong, as I mean nothing by it, I get that things happen in life and you have to roll with the punches, I love all cars
As you know I've owned several sports cars in my life as well and after driving the Vette a few times I was like, dang the road noise is bad in here. The BRZ had a lot too but not near as bad as the Vette and it makes the Mustang sound like it was a luxury ride. Still love it and the ride is supper comfy. Maybe look into getting a nice used C7 with how great the value is on them, you wouldn't be disappointed. Gas milage is better than you are getting in the Z too.
travis branum right now I’ve got my eye on maybe getting back into a mustang. But also keeping an eye on c7 values over the next couple months. I’ve always really liked them too
This is crazy. I'm literally between a 370z and a 15-17 Mustang GT. This is cool that I've found a YT channel with good video and audio, similar build tastes, and well-spoken. Here, have a sub! *subs*
"This car remained the same" as a new buyer all I can think about is the abundance of parts lol
I own a 370z sport and I love everything about it, and what I don’t I just upgraded.
Same here, there are very few things that I would fault in mine.
Agreed on the Touring trim. The speakers are fantastic and the seats are great as well.
about to buy mine so excited!
You need the Bose system. Its actually really good. It is....PROMISE!!!!!!
I have one in my 370Z sport and I love it.
Here's what's funny ~ you make a video of '8 reasons' of dislike about an iconic 2-seater sports car THAT'S "automatic" and talk about 'road noise', 'fuel consumption' and other inherent tradeoffs for that car? huh?
Road noise is lessened and fuel consumption is lowered bc of the auto….
I’m actually picking up a 2020 sport touring with only 4000 miles on Friday!
Great video. I drive the 2017 model and pretty can agree with everything mentioned here. Braum has some good seat options, but it is more on the expensive end. If you do find new seats, hope to see it in a future video!
It will be my proudest modification I ever do lol

Just came across this video and yes I’m similar build as you and my god the seats are beyond terrible. Did you end up replacing them? If so, which ones did you go with?
Unfortunately I did not, ended up replacing the car lol.
I like the Nismo version

Big part of the reason why you're complaining about the gas mileage is because you bought an automatic trans Z. HUGE mistake. #SaveTheManuals
Ouch yea that seat is unacceptable it doesn’t even matter if it’s specific to your body type or not for YOU it’s not working and that padding is unacceptable for ANYONE. but replace the seat brother i don’t want to see you getting a blood clot or something crazy from extended driving on that

Oh and these cars have some camber from factory and with the short and wide wheel base with wide tires it isn’t all that good in rain. Ours isn’t that bad tho it could be your tires
It probably is the tires. My 370Z sport with the OEM Bridgestones and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires handles great in the rain.
Okay I thought I was tripping with the rain part can't do 50s without thinking I'm about to run off the road
I have a 2017 Nissan 370Z sport package 6spd and I have the Bose sound system with no navigation and its great everything u need and stuff you don’t I use the navigation on my phone so its a perfect set up

Ok I’ll give you this...you win😂😂😂
You should have just kept the mustang!
Don’t give away my future secrets....
@@DayneLeBlanc you just don't fit in that car. It looks silly.. Iike squeezing into a miata. You belong in something big like a Challenger

I'm 6'2 175lbs I own s2k, miata, mr2, ect. I eat once a day make sure I fit in these cars forever 😂. I know you bodybuilding though
lol it’s a good play😂😂
Just bought 2020 sport touring and I love it, Bose is pretty good, seats seem ok
i meannnn if u dont want it give it to me its a bad car anyway
Get a different set of seats or lose some weight😊
The G37S sedan seems to be the answer to everything... can even have it in stick or auto.
Awesome channel man. We should collab and maybe do a Z comparison!
How about you stick to trying to be DannyZ 2.0 with your clickbait thumbnails and titles.
The REAL person! WHY ARE YOU MAD😂
All love. 🛴🛴💨🤌
I am 6 for 2 and 230 pounds. Worried I will be to big for it
Take it to car max they will take it off your hands right away. No use keeping what you don’t like.
I agree
Fun videos, keep it up man!
3 months ago I bought a 2010 370 Roadster, absolutely love this car! Having aid this, loved your vid. Loved your rants, great use of humour in describing your pet peeves! Good to know about deriving in the rain & fully agree with visibility concerning the passenger mirror!
How can a car company not updating one of their cars be a reason why you don’t like yours?
Lol no unexpected reliability issues to come up. Assume people got better at making them.
About to buy one. I’m a big guy too. Had to adjust seats down to lowest level to hv average space. But it’s a Z and I’ve always wanted one. Commute about 25 minutes one way. Will see how I feel about it in 3 months. Excellent video.
How tall are you ? Still love the car …
Wait... you traded an s550 in for an auto 370z???? What the fuck hahahahaha
It's your tires tbh, never got a problem in the rain even in heavy rain. Running Good Year f1 super sports tho
Yeah it was actually my rear alignment. My toe was all out of wack, once I got it aligned it never gave me another problem!
The fact that it “dances in the rain” is one of the best thing about this car!
Whaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!
I have the same problem about mine have you been able to find better seats?
I just made one these videos today! 😂
It.s the tires. Change them.
Yo huh you got a youtube channel dayne 🔥🔥🔥
7:11 damn I got the same radio in my 2011 nissan versa
Problems #1-8 it's auto!
Ace Ventura he got it because he liked the auto better than the manual but its probably cause he couldn’t see himself driving a tough clutch around as a daily.
Run the Stock OEM tires....Cuts the road noise
I’ve always really liked them too
I feel you bro😂
All these are the reason i decided to jump in my rather sexy RCZ
This is crazy. I'm literally between a 370z and a 15-17 Mustang GT. This is cool that I've found a YT channel with good video and audio, similar build tastes, and well-spoken. Here, have a sub! *subs*
If you drive them back to back, I promise you won’t be going back in the Z. It only makes sense financially
I am going to try to get me a newer shelby gt350 soon tho
With bad tires is is a NIGHTMARE!!!!!!
Can I help push?
Absolutly 💯
How are you liking the 370z compared to ur 2016 mustang gt? Does the appeal of the 370z get old quick?
