Today I want to show you an important piece of equipment for your workshop: a fume extractor! If you're thinking about investing in one and improving the ventilating system in your space, then you should check out this fume extractor by Vevor! The price is very competitive and the machine itself is powerful and does the job well. Vevor has kindly sent me this tool to test and share my review. In this video I'll show you how it's packaged, how to set it up and how it works. Personally, I was pleasantly surprised by the low noise level. On the lowest setting the noise is actually something I wouldn't notice much while working. Even the highest setting wasn't too bad, as the sound is on the softer side (to be honest, I'm not too sure how to describe it, but it's a mild type of soft background noise). I hope this video will be helpful if you're thinking about getting this type of fume extractor :)

I bought one of these around the first of the year. I started soldering again-in an enclosed area without ventilation. When I set this up I was so impressed! I highly recommend this, also. One of my best investments 🤗

I'm glad you are happy with it! I too am impressed with how efficient it is and I mentioned this many times already, but the noise level is very manageable. Overall, it is a great piece of equipment, worth considering when searching for fume extractors :)

@treasuresforme how often do you replace the filters and is it cost effective? thanks

I have had it several months. I haven’t changed the filter, yet-but I only use it 2-3 hours a day. It’s on when I’m actually soldering and when I’m using stinky oxidizing solutions. Really like it.

I rarely solder anymore. I work in different ways but I do have an air purifier and I have my bench by an open window. I use a mask when sawing or for the very little bit of torch work I do.

that should be perfectly enough then, for small amount of work the mask and a well ventilated room should get you covered :)

@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing If I do decide to get back into pieces that need heavy duty soldering - I will get one of these. It's pretty cool.

What do you use for your Dust Collector? Your area stays so clean and dust free..

thank you for sharing, I am really interested in this topic. I am wondering it is best to build my own extraction to go out the window or to buy this machine. How often do you change the filters on this machine? and are replacement filters affordable? thank you!

    Hi!
Thank you for the great videos! A practical question.. do you order most of the tools from Pepe? I’m struggling to find a good supplier in the EU. Tavast I’ve just discovered recently, but their selection isn’t great.
Don’t your orders get stuck in the customs with all the taxes being imported to EU and such? Mine take so long to get here and it’s a lot of paperwork and such, very inconvenient. I’d be really grateful for any tips! Thank you so much 🙏🏻🩷

It’s not available in the U.K.? It looks great and I am soldering away from my window, I wonder if there are any other options for the U.K.?

I've been considering adding a better ventilation system in my work area, and this looks like it would work perfectly! Thank you Basia! Did you get the smallest of the available options? I'm just wondering if I should just look at the 100 or 150 watt version.

I think this may be something worth considering. I love how you can store it next to or behind a bench or table and that it doesn't take a lot of room. And the noise level is ok. The one I have is 150, I'm not sure how it compares with 100, but I believe they both should be decent. Maybe other product reviews online could help you make a decision. Good luck!

@TheArtOfMetalsmithing I thought yours looked like the 150, which is the one I was looking at possibly getting. Thank you so much!
