I wish they sold those here in the US. Its simplicity in design and functionality is something I can definitely appreciate. Looks like a vehicle that would be fun to drive.
I love how the design is all about functionality, and there's not a trace of luxure or some unnecessary crap. Like the Trabant or the early Ladas. Although the Niva is still as great as ever.
There are likely to be a number of problems of owning these types of vehicles they are a design that dates back to the mid 1960's and being based on a design from 1960's they will have problems of rust then there is the lack of 21st century safety tech and emissions tech meaning in some countries these things wouldn't be allowed on the road basically a favourite of old people like Vladimir Putin.
It is called in Russia "Buchanka", which means a bread loaf, cause it resembles the russian brick like bread loaf. Also it can mean "heavy drinking party". It coasts like 6k Euro brand new one.
So, in Russia ,this van price is 6000. euros. In in the f*cking E.U., in Czech Republic, price is : UAZ 2206 AMC, 2 - 9 seats, EURO 6, N1G: petrol engine 2.7 MPI, 5-speed manual gearbox, attachable 4x4, 4x4 low range, color grey, power steering, ABS, anti-theft ignition, moveable front seats, washable interior, additional heating for rear passengers, LPG modification available. Price: 14 100 EUR without VAT LPG: 1 296 EUR without VAT VAT is 21%.
Why is it still produced? What i think is that it is very popular in far north, which we have in Russia a lot. The temperature there is -50, -60 etc. So WHY is it popular there? Because it is mega offroad, but the main reason is that the ENGINE IS INSIDE THE CABINE! And you can repair it staying inside!!! Whithout going outside when it is -50! And it is extremely simple to repair! It is very important you know when you can repair your car just with a wrench sitting inside in a situation when there is nobody around 100 kilometers and outside is -50 =)
THAT is why I want one !I am from Norway , Lada was popular here , but I think this UAZ would be a great car for farmers , craftsmen and such , and for private persons with limited budgets ! Advertise !
@@bibox9487 Never gonna happen, only reason these outdated machines are still built is because they have no money to do anything else. Same goes for many other big, ex state owned factories. While modern van, inspired from this one would be awesome, I have hard time believing UAZ will be even around as a company, after couple of decades pass from now. In it current state anyways.
wy in 2015 is there a big thin plastic steering wheel ? 2,wheels looking at wheels i don t see a 4 wheel drive wy not big large wheels this is a old strong work horse ? am i correct
+alberto gorin Yes. You are correct. This car have 4WD for off road. This car is work hors for very bad roads and service. Very popular car in Russian villages and very little towns.
+Мурад Бен Сума An automatic transmission would be very suitable for all of those jobs. The reason this isn't automatic is because it's from the stone age and designed to be as simple and cheap as possible. I'm amazed it has power steering.
+Мурад Бен Сума There's probably a reason why you can't even buy an American pickup truck with a manual anymore. They don't do anything better than automatics these days. Except price. Manuals are cheaper to make. I do obviously realize why the UAZ-3909 comes in manual only (it's that kind of car) but that doesn't mean that an off-roader can't have an automatic. There's no clutch to destroy and you don't lose momentum if you have to shift down while climbing a hill.
cronn42 American pickups not sold in Russia. In Russia we have new Toyota Hilux for expample. But Hilux in Russia costs 23417 $. UAZ-3909 costs 9522 $. Parts for UAZ is very cheap. For Hilux is so expensive. UAZ can be repaired in the field :). Hilux? No...UAZ buy farmers or state organizations. Ambulance in village for example. I live in Saint-Petersbourg. We have very few of these cars. For work in my city have: Gazelle Bussines, Gazelle Sobol, Gazelle Next, Ford Transit, Wolkswagen Crafter and etc.
Brian Feijoo the design works great in cold climates so you don't have to get out when fixing engine and there are restrictions on vehicles length so a box over engine with front design is more popular
MegaRetr How much would a gas (lpg) bus with camping equipment (bed, gas cooker, closets, kitchen sink, water installation and heating system, ...) cost? Who sells these in Europe? Do you import to Europe? Similar to this one: www.floridavwrentals.com/images/586_807.JPG
It is not about power. Much displacement, less HP, this engines will run forever. Or what do you think why some Toyota engines are 4L with "just" 130HP?

Swing-open vent windows in 2015! Those were amazing for keeping you cool when you were driving. Shame that American cars did away in the late 70's

they should update the bodywork
@@bibox9487 Why, it's not like this type of body on a frame, 4x4 van would ever look great.
@@TheSpekkel1 they should update it aesthetically and mechanically, put all those devices that can be sold more easily on the western market.

I would love to have one of those here in Denmark. I hate most modern plastic cars.
Thanks for filming those, Alex!
Although this has the styling from 1965, it is a very capable offroader. Also, it will last forever.
I want it! Looks cute!
I think this is the only one video, thank you so much!
How are the welds? i have seen a video once of a 2015 UAZ buhanka with some bad welds.
What the heck is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to own one!!!
Israel Ferrera is lovely soviet car

Una verdadera belleza, ojalá en Ecuador los vendieran para comprar una de estas preciosidades.

Do we have auto lock center for doors ? For safety when the car running, cause some kid will open the door suddenly.
Elle est unique, MAGNIFIQUE, FANSTASTIQUE
I wish we had vehicles like this in Canada.
It's GORGEOUS!

I quite like it actually.
i wish this was produced in Philippines. that doors are very solid !!
Next to today's cars, I find it more attractive.

Yes. You are correct. This car have 4WD for off road. This car is work hors for very bad roads and service. Very popular car in Russian villages and very little towns.
From the beginning, the car was in the military. Then he began to sell everything.
+Naill And most importantly, people buy it. Go fishing and hunting, in the fields, forests and dirt.
Yes please, I'll have one as well.
The 2016 model looks similar and different at the same time
@MegaRetr
What's the transmission of this car? Is this Diesel or Petrol Gasoline?
+Earl Matthew Avila Four-wheel drive , this version of gasoline, but also there is a version with a diesel engine and a gas version ( butane- propane)
Денис What's Butane Propane?
+Earl Matthew Avila this is a gasoline and this is a 5 speed manual
The writing on the fuel filler says unleaded gasoline.
This must be the longest-produced car still in production, made since 1965
+Lucas Kroon that'll be the Land Rover Defender
TheCarArchives But that's 1983
***** yes the Defender did start in 1983 but it's really based of the first Land Rover from the 1950's
TheCarArchives And the UAZ in this video is based off the uaz-450 from 1958, unlike the landrover it uses the exact same body panels
***** true but this vehicle would be to Discontinued at the end of the year along with the Hunter
I hope that uaz came in the philippines
Ural have already came to Philippines recently.
i wonder if it has ABS nowadays too
Yes
Looks like a 1973 not a 2015
I wonder if there is an automatic transmission version??
+TheSpritz0

Один только звук открывания и закрывания двери должен вселять страх всем капиталистам :D
Très beau 4x4 fourgon
Can someone please explain why the motor is actually inside the vehicle?
So it will warm the cabin better.
It's a one-box design with the front seats above the axle. Where else is it gonna go?
Brian Feijoo the design works great in cold climates so you don't have to get out when fixing engine and there are restrictions on vehicles length so a box over engine with front design is more popular
It looks like a British Commer Van
I wish this was sold in America...
