    Please don't start this s#&t 😆
    Things are going EXACTLY how we want them to go so far in this series and we don't need to be lighting fires under anyone on the other side right now. Lets win the title and THEN let everyone know the Celtics are in Kyrie's head. LOL

      The way Jaylen, Jayson, Jrue, etc. have handled themselves says a lot about their growth and maturity from a couple of years ago. No matter what is said, no matter by whom, they have been able to maintain their focus which is on just one thing - win a championship. It really has been impressive to see up close.

    I don’t think Mazzulla is uncomfortable with the race question. He considers it irrelevant. As a sincere, committed follower of Christ his identity is not rooted in the color of his skin but in the One who gave up His life for him.
    Mazzulla refocused the question toward the identity that most matters to him.

      As I mentioned on the podcast, Joe is a great example of what spiritual redemption looks like. There is no denying the personal and spiritual transformation his faith has meant and how it has strengthened him in all facets of his life. And for those of us who have had leadership positions within a church body, you absolutely love to see that kind of growth in your brothers and sisters in Christ. So his response to the question, for those of us who have been around him was not a surprise. For me, and this is just me, I thought Joe whiffed at an opportunity very few followers of Christ have. And that's an opportunity to use that enormous platform that the NBA Finals brings, to amplify the strength of his faith, why it matters, and how it allows him to circumvent/navigate around and through some of the societal challenges of this day, like race. The fact that it was only the second time since 1975 that two Black head coaches were in the Finals, speaks to its news value. I wish Joe had talked more about his faith at that moment. But again, that's just me.

      @@a.sherrodblakely4324 Thank you for your thoughtful response. I appreciate the way you framed the issue. Joe does have a unique platform to share Christ in a compassionate way. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. You have challenged my thinking and I am grateful. I will be praying for both you and Joe as you have higher profiles and opportunities to share the hope you have. (1 Peter3:15)

    Sharod; I like what youre trying to say. But I think Marcus would have gladly taken a back seat to Jaylen if Jaylen had been ready to step up. Also, we were a healthy Williams away from winning the finals in 2022. They could have done it. Awesome show, thanks guys!

      You make a good point, Justin. But it's a lot easier to fill that role when you look around and it's either you or no one, versus trying to find space to lead while Marcus was still around. Like you, I would have liked their chances a lot more with a healthy Williams. But as we've seen this year and in past years, talent and timing, especially when it comes to health, is MAJOR INTANGIBLE to winning a championship.

    I luv wut JT is doing, I was just thnkn on some of those drives a floater here or there, has JT ever shot a floater?

      He needs to add a pull up middie and a float game to hit that next offensive level

    • @a.sherrodblakely4324
      @a.sherrodblakely4324 3 месяца назад +2

      The one shot I have been surprised to not see JT dig into his bag and show, is the floater. In this series, the way he's being defended, that shot seems like it's just what he needs to get into a good rhythm. It adds another layer of decision-making for the defense (is he gonna pass? Is he gonna pull up? Is he gonna drive and toss the floater?). As I mentioned in the podcast, JT is often a victim of the ridiculously high standard he has established for himself. The dude wakes up and can score 25 points, easily. But he's doing so many other things that impacts winning. he just needs to knock down a few more shots that he's more than capable of doing.

People are so infatuated with offense it’s irritating. 🏀 is about doing everything on the court playmaking, rebounding, defense JT and JB both are very well rounded players on the same team. Wow the glorification of Marcus Smart never stops . He was a bench player for most of his career in boston. Revisionist history that he was the captain of The team when he got drafted, which is the furthest thing from the truth he didn't start until the last 2 years he was here he was a freaking backup 80% of his career in Boston. They're not winning this without getting rid of him🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

    • @a.sherrodblakely4324
      @a.sherrodblakely4324 3 месяца назад

      I'm gonna have to disagree with your assessment of Marcus as a bench player. He started 61% of the time as a Celtic. You're right about him not being a captain. Anyone who makes that assertion is wrong. He was one of the leaders, but not a captain. As far as starting the last two years, not true my friend. The dude started 60 games in 2018-2019. But throughout his career, he averaged at least 27 minutes per game EVERY YEAR AS A CELTIC! That's borderline starter/6th man minutes. Do some folks go overboard with the Marcus Smart glorification? Absolutely. But don't act like the dude wasn't a good player who didn't make an impact on this franchise that you can still see his imprints on now, particularly with what he brought to the table defensively which helped lay the foundation for what this team is about these days.
