I am 82 alone now with all my family passed. My brother just in January. From my point of view (at my age) it's best to get rid of items you don't want rather than let them going to waste....give them to someone who can use them and appreciares the nice decro-da items. Another interesting documentary Leslie, and as always much appreciated.
In the city where I live, I've noticed that some people die with houses totally full to the brim. I see their younger families renting dumpsters for months to empty out one house. I asked and they said the person who died was 89 years old. I think people wait until their health is too bad to get rid of things, so they die with house full. Or maybe they never wanted to get rid of anything. There are people like that. They are very attached to their things.
I bet you have so many timeless memories of chapters we could learn about where young people have no idea how hard times were.. Life is to easy today. Food then didn't come frozen ready made to warm up, people worked and prepared a dinner. People didn't throw something out because it was broken and knew they could order another better one.. Back then you learned to set and visit with your loved ones because no phone could bring you together like today's times. People had to travel to see one another, they wrote letters with feelings!

Hi Lesley and Danny. It's a bit of a sad story. In her last note, Jadwiga wrote that her son told her that she is a stinky mother, that he was ashamed of them, and that he and Janina, daughter-in-law, had enough of them. "my dearest son said it to me" I my opinion they returned to Poland, since they were no longer needed by anyone there. Polish parents unconditionally love their children, educate them and work for them even when they are adults and have their own families. They usually don't always get that love back from them.
So sad. My thoughts are one of them passed away given their age in the photo. Cups on the dining room table, coffee pot next to vodka indicates visitors after funeral. Given the note, there son never returned her. Maybe mother went to a nursing home. Perhaps friends helped to pack but son never returned.
That is sad. 🥺 I can't imagine myself telling that to my own parents. I love them with all my heart. I feel so bad to the mother having a son like that
What an unforgettable trip did we have together bro! :)) Exploring the NY area in Winter with sub-zero temperatures and inches of snow is something I’ll certainly never forget. I’m so happy you still have the memories on video and you made a fantastic video out of it once again! 💚

These types of abandonments usually involve the death of one parent, then the death of the other, and the children/grandchildren living far away. The children/grandchildren come back for the funeral and then go back to the house. Cleanup begins, they get overwhelmed and end up taking whatever personal property they can carry, intending to return at a later date, but then life happens. They probably still intend to return. But then family members disagree over something and everything must wait for a mutual agreement so distribution of the property can proceed.
Sad to see it waisting away. If they just sold it n divided the money or out names in a hat on similar price n draw out names for each piece. That takes away arguments. My mum family did that with 7 blocks of land when their mother died. Mum go the smallest but was a corner on the top of hill. So way equivalent in value. You can’t take anything with you when you die. I would have thought gifting property would save death duties n make life easier for next generation. But then parent would be afraid of losing comfortable home if children move them out. It’s happened. A friend had that happen. Very sad. Regards M
So many lovely things left behind. You commented on Polish cooking and my mind immediately thought of a tiny little home where I installed a satellite. The women were making blueberry pierogi in a teeny tiny kitchen and when I said I never heard of them, there was a plate each waiting for us once the job was done. They were the most amazing things I have eaten. They were so proud and pleased. Sending us off with more even when we protested lol
❤beautiful exploration. Still I am concerned about the parents that were left as son and wife returned to Poland. Electricity can not stay on here without the charges being paid. Two months is maximum and the power company cuts power off to the home. If they had a big enough bank account it could be drafted out each month. Charges would be low if no one was living there. If that is it I suspect foul play.
As people get older and older, many start having separate bedrooms to get better sleep, especially if one has a severe snoring problem. Very common in the States.

If property taxes aren't paid in the U.S. the county will take possession of the property and auction it off. Someone must be paying the taxes. The house could still be saved. I loved the large porch and it looked like a nice quiet and peaceful property. It makes me sad to see that it was abandoned and no one took care of the belongings. Thank you for another wonderful adventure Lesley! That clock is called an anniversary clock because the German who created it worked the suspension system in such a way that, it is told, he didn’t have to wind it for a year. A torsion pendulum keeps the clock running as the globes spin all the way in one direction then recoil and spun the other. I have one that has been going for eleven months now on one winding! Thank you so much for sharing your explorations!❤️
I have done some research on the web and it looks like the husband died in 2002 but his wife may be alive aged around 85 years old but living in another State in America. Could it be that Jadwiga has dementia as my mother was Polish and had dementia and would write similar notes.

@@RetroCaptain I totally understand the work thing. Most small towns in the US were located near a factory and a rail system. That’s how our small town was incorporated. But it doesn’t mean that these houses have to be abandoned. My mother in law and father in law live in her Mother’s house after granny passed away. We live right next door in my husband’s great aunt’s house. We bought it when she passed away. We don’t have any major factories here anymore but most young people have learned other trades or businesses. I worked at our local hospital. I’m glad we could save these two little houses. My husbands aunt could not have children. We have raised two girls here. She would be so excited to know that. These family homes are so special but not everyone feels that way. M
It is not uncommon for couples who have been married for many years to sleep in separate bedrooms. One may have medical issues that causes them to get up multiple times per night or one may snore and be the only one to get some sleep.
Comments are probably correct maybe the went bk to Poland and maybe the parents passed away maybe one of them..and maybe kids couldn’t on who gets what..who know?.. not necessarily a disappearing thing!anyway love you videos❤️please be careful in your exploring. THNX!!!!
A pendulum clock is one that only goes from one side to the other keeping time. The clock you showed I’d called an Anniversary Clock and used to have a glass dome over it. These have the three sided time keeper, meaning it comes from a center and splits into three but still of one. If I remember correctly these swirl to one side then the other, kind of back to front but in a type of circle. I hope that this made sense to you. You can always look up Anniversary Clock to see how it operates.
This was a lovely glimpse into the home. Always appreciate your tenderness toward the family members and gentle music. Makes me want to look up Polish recipes! Thank you for bringing this home to light, in spite of what descendants may have said. No one can criticize how WWII victims lived, not even their children. Keep up your thought-provoking work!
Thank you for this exploration. The way you show and speak about the previous tenants is so respectful. Your positive attitude and narrative is honorable
I'm so surprised you found this Amazing Abandoned home in the United State,,, We don't usually find things intact usually kids destroys homes. Great Find!

Always wonderful to explore abandoned homes. It’s almost as if the family were coming back, even though they are not when the power is still left on. Hopefully, someone could buy and restore the home one day before it is totally to far gone on repairing. I enjoyed your video, and hope to see more.
Beautiful video. I love that you capture a life in the home. Lovely and sad at the same time. Thank you for the hard work you put in and the respect you show! I enjoy your viseos! I look forward to the next one!

If you have the address/locale of this rural property, go to the local land records office and you will be able to find out the last owner, if the property is in public domain, or who owns the land currently. In the US, it is all in the local County land records office.
33:42 (TRANSLATION) August 2011 - (can't read here) 1- smelly mother 2 - he's ashamed of us 3 - they have had enough of us - both with Jan(?) My dearest son has said that to me!!!! Maybe it had something to do with their moving out 😢
By the looks of their home, they seem to have money. Most people set their bills up to withdraw from their bank account when due. And since no one is living there, their electric bill wouldn't be much and it's been taking from their bank account over the years. Just a guess on why the lights still work.
Hi. Watching now. I haven't read all the comments, it may have been said already. You're in the basement, atm. I think he fixed vacuum cleaners. Those hoses, clamps, cords etc. Love your shows. Thank you so much. Thank you to your videographer too.

Most elderly couples usually sleep in separate beds or rooms, mine did, mum couldn't handle dad's loud snoring! What a lovely home they made after fleeing Europe at the end of war! All that beautiful china and glassware and beautiful furniture left behind to rot by a very uncaring son and daughter in law is so sad ! They could have sold it and the house if the parents left or passed away, l will never understand why people disrespect their parents and don't care what happens to the belongings and houses! Loved the chandeliers and light fittings too. Greetings from Australia. 🦘😉😊😟🤑🥺🥰
Even if they sold it for less than it’s value, it would be better than letting it sit and rot away! Sell it to someone for a dollar if nothing is owed on it would be better than the way it is deteriorating now.
I have noticed that many Americans have no clue the value of antique furniture, and they don't want it either. Everyone in my family lives in a newer house with modern day furniture and I gather from what they say, they wouldn't want anything from the past. They call it "old." They are missing out. I have discovered the beauty and value of the past, and I am greatly enjoying it myself.
It seems that wherever you explore the houses usually have pianos, some more than one. One of the reasons might be that a piano is one of the most awkward things to move, very top heavy.
It looks like she may have made ceramics as a hobby. My mother did ceramics in the 90s and ducks seemed to be a popular thing then. And the ceramic Christmas tree is another popular one. Next time you venture to this continent in the winter, get some "hot paws" mitts and hats 😀. Frostbite is not fun. Great tour as usual.
Hey. I am polish and I love the way you say Jadwiga, pierogi or gulasz :) Spirytus is not wodka, it is 95% alcohol :) we use it to make other alcohols like bimber for example.
Hello Lesley this home is beautiful but it’s sad seeing all the belongings still there and just rotting away. I’m thinking maybe they passed away or maybe they had to go to a nursing home. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day.
Lesley, Thank you as always for being the gentleman you are. Your parents must be very proud of you. You do such a great job on your videos. As does Danny. You are both such gentlemen. We don't know the home life of this family. There is an old Indian saying something like this: Don't judge until you have walked a mile in his/her moccasins. Thank you for your hard work with these adventures.
There are many other scenarios of what stories this house holds. . If the husband died in 2001, evidently she lived here without him for about 9 years. The son who probably lives away from her probably saw about her. He might have had to move her closer to him and put her in a home in 2011. She could have had dementia, Alzheimer’s or mental illness causing her to write that kind of note which probably wasn’t true. Someone has been taking care of this house for 12 years. Maybe the son had been using it as a summer retreat because of the clothes in the closets. He could have been packing things a little at a time hence the trash bags. They could have been filled with personal papers and trash such as things he didn’t want to keep. I used to do estate sales and have had to clean out personal things that couldn’t be sold. That can take up a lot of trash bags. Someone mentioned there wasn’t cobwebs or dust on the glassware. I’m of the impression someone has been taking care of the house especially since the electricity is still on. The hot water tank in the basement looked fairly new. There was a beautiful set of Kings Crown glassware in the China cabinet. It reminded him of his mother in better times so he left it. Also, why would that note be left. Evidently it didn’t offend him or he would have thrown it away. Maybe it was a reminder of why a loving mother would become angry and mean in her old age. So many things to think about.
Man thats one big massive assumption you made. How do you know the op wasn't telling the truth. How do you know she had dementia and was making things up what her son had said about her. Umm you don't. Or are you Janina?
This home seems to be well lived in and loved with a happy family. It's just another one of those mystery homes that the family just disappeared. If walls could talk and the stories they tell. Lesley, you always find that gem of a home. You always leave me wondering with such curiosity about the families. Excited for your next find! Happy travels! See you on your next adventure 🚘. Thank you to all who served! Have a blessed Memorial Day everyone! 5/29
If something would have happened the police would have investigated it. Look at the beginning of the video. They just pulled over and a cop stopped. Im surprised that one didn't show up as they were going through the house. The footprints in the snow would make them Wonder who was in there. I'm sure they know it's empty.
Hi Lesley! 🙋♀️Thank you so much for another great video! It’s a sad story . Both of you did a great job as always!🥰👌 Love always your videos! Much Love from Germany! Britta 😊
The note in Polish is heart breaking, it says that their son was ashamed of Jan and his wife and said that they “smell” 😢 but the mother (it looks like it was her who was writing it) still loved her son 😢

This one made me very sad. I wondered if they might have died and the family didn't care enough to settle the property. But someone cares enough to continue paying the electric and taxes. They also cared enough to throw the electric breakers to the upstairs where the roof is bad and water could cause an electrical fire
You are fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful video. I loved the way you presented the house. You reminded me of a sweet, funny dear friend of mine I knew from America, the way you communicate. Thank you so much! Love from Norway.

Hello Karen how's the weather over there
It is not uncommon for couples who have been married for many years to sleep in separate bedrooms.
THNX!!!!
My sister does that...she's 51...LoL...her husband snores too loud
It is common in Poland , especially in old age.
Hello Colleen how's the weather over there
Beautiful home, but I had the feeling that there was a very sad reason for them to leave so much behind. So sad!
You are right. Their son was extremely rude for the parents. It was written on the card upstairs
Hello Debbie how's the weather over there
Once again, you never disappoint.. The stories behind the homes and the overall tour is just so fascinating.. Thank You guys so much!
Thank you for this exploration. The way you show and speak about the previous tenants is so respectful. Your positive attitude and narrative is honorable
I'm so surprised you found this Amazing Abandoned home in the United State,,, We don't usually find things intact usually kids destroys homes. Great Find!
Лесли, огромное спасибо за видео. После просмотра такого рода видео, начинаешь больше ценить свой дом. Потому что прекрасно представляешь, что с ним случится, когда он останется один..... (дом).

What can I say: OUTSTANDING PRESENTATION!!!!!
Always wonderful to explore abandoned homes. It’s almost as if the family were coming back, even though they are not when the power is still left on. Hopefully, someone could buy and restore the home one day before it is totally to far gone on repairing. I enjoyed your video, and hope to see more.
Hello Dawn how's the weather over there
Merci Leslie pour les visites incroyables.
That has been a beautiful family home. So sad it's been abandoned.

If you have the address/locale of this rural property, go to the local land records office and you will be able to find out the last owner, if the property is in public domain, or who owns the land currently. In the US, it is all in the local County land records office.
Hello Barbara how are you doing today
I love your videos and always watching.. I have spent the day watching them.. Cheers!! Stay safe and warm too!! Be careful always

August 2011 - (can't read here)
1- smelly mother
2 - he's ashamed of us
3 - they have had enough of us - both with Jan(?)
My dearest son has said that to me!!!!

Hello Annele how's the weather over there
Welcome to the US! Thanks for another great video.
I was astonished that an abandoned house in America had any antique furniture left inside!!! AMAZING,!
Hello Trudy how's the weather over there
I've really enjoyed watching your videos in America. Great job
Hello Becca how's the weather over there
Lesley, the mirror in the bathroom is also a medicine cabinet. My mother in law had the exact same one!
Hello Lacey how's the weather over there
This was amazing. So interesting. Thank you for sharing, done so very well, what a pleasure to watch.
Hello Danade how's the weather over there
It looks like she may have made ceramics as a hobby.
When the first bed was shown, it looked like there was something/someone under the red blanket.
Sad. I Guess, authorities Don't Care About.... Families in USA. Polish Government should inquire About How Their ancestors were.... FORGOTTEN
No the Government doesn't care about families here in Virginia beach virginia, it's really sad
What? They aren't missing. Maybe they moved with their son's family to another state. Just because we don't know doesn't mean others don't know.
If something would have happened the police would have investigated it. Look at the beginning of the video. They just pulled over and a cop stopped. Im surprised that one didn't show up as they were going through the house. The footprints in the snow would make them Wonder who was in there. I'm sure they know it's empty.
Wonderful decayed home. Thank you for showing us all the different decayed buildings and places you showed
Hello Donna how's the weather over there
Wow... Ottima spiegazione 👍 Meravigliosa e affascinante casa 🏚️ ... 🔝
Amazing find. Thank you for the journey through time.
That carved wooden plate upstairs with the words 'PAMIATKA Z POLSKI'
Means 'Souvenir from Poland'.💕
That was an amazing journey in such a small home. Lovely, made me feel as though they were gentle people. I also read the other persons message.
Hello Kathy how's the weather over there
@ 38:09 That's called an anniversary clock.
It should have a glass dome over it.
The clockwork spins slowly, clockwise, then counterclockwise.
Hello Lidiy how's the weather over there
Upstate gets a lot of snow, so great for winter sports
I guess that they were your footsteps in the snow ! That is one amazing home....... good find.
Beautiful thanks for sharing 🎉
This one made me very sad. I wondered if they might have died and the family didn't care enough to settle the property. But someone cares enough to continue paying the electric and taxes. They also cared enough to throw the electric breakers to the upstairs where the roof is bad and water could cause an electrical fire
Hello Jeanne how's the weather over there
You are fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful video. I loved the way you presented the house. You reminded me of a sweet, funny dear friend of mine I knew from America, the way you communicate.
Thank you so much!
Love from Norway.
New sub!! Really enjoyed your video!! Thanks for sharing!! Looking forward to seeing other finds of yours!!

I do not know if sb translat😕ed the note 33:44 but is it: 1. stinking mother 2. he is ashamed of us 3. they are sick of us- altogether, ( and one word I can't read). My dearest son told me so. The end of the note. So sad.
I like the design of the house. Thanks!
Ngôi nhà rất đẹp. Buồn vì nó đã bị bỏ rơi!
Hi Leslie....Another amazing house. Thank u for the video. Beautiful I really like the way u explain. Great job.❤

Sad that things are just going to waste. Sad the memories of lifetime just wasting away.

Merci J'adore me promener avec vous...
it wasn't vodka, it was spirit - you don't drink that 😅Older people use it to rub the body - it's warming.
The clocks. It was a tradition that when someone in the house dies you stop the clock at the time of death. The beds, in the old days husband and wife slept in separate beds.
TY and God bless!!!
