STORY
In March 2001, the lights turned off inside a private hospital in the southern state of Georgia. The hospital has been empty ever since, but the patients' belongings remain, frozen in time.
In this video, we take a tour of this eerie relic, and see something you've never seen before. Inside, we find personal documents, X-rays, and even blood samples still in the laboratory freezer.
Built in 1968 to serve the growing city, the hospital featured two operating rooms, an emergency and intensive care unit, and had over 150 employees. But within a few years of its grand opening in 1974, a corruption scandal toppled the management, forcing the hospital to close its doors.
The hospital reopened in 1985 under new management, but by 1990, it was involved in another corruption scandal, racking up over $1 million in debt.
A decade of funding cuts finally sealed the hospital's fate. Layoffs followed, and the facility closed its doors by the end of 2001, leaving 9,000 people without a hospital within 90 minutes.
More than two decades later, the hospital remains frozen in time, untouched since the day it closed. Join us on this fascinating tour of an abandoned hospital, and see what it's like to step back in time.

I agree with you Lesley. Healthcare should be free with only electives at a cost (plastic surgery etc).
Thankfully here in the UK we have the NHS, but only just.
Leslie my late partner was a system admin and was one of the original hackers. I used a lot of the computers and the accessories back in the day. I live in Australia and we have free healthcare. I can never imagine not going to hospital if I couldnt afford it. I have a friend whos grandfather had to sell his home to pay for treatment after a heart attack in the USA. I still shake my head at the amount of waste that happens when you explore public buildings. These beds, tubing etc could have gone to 3rd world coutries if they could not have been used locally. Its a shame the scrappers and graffiti vandals have been through the place. Thank you for another interesting video
I totally agree with you. Americans are some of the most wastefullest and laziest of all humans alive. Many hospitals, hotels, offices, etc. close up leaving everything behind. When homeless shelters, 3rd world countries, nursing homes with outdated beds and equipment. Sad but so true. I'm almost ashamed of being American when seeing how wasteful some of these greedy, lazy corporations are. So unfortunate for the needy.
Saludos 💁👋👋🌷
Great video!
It's sad how we let things go to waste when it could do so much for another area. Such wastefulness is partly, in my opinion, why costs are so high...not to mention greed. Maybe someday we will learn.
That first room was a hydro therapy room used for pain treatments and muscular/joint rehabilitation. Room with all the office equipment is the administration/ billing department. Those are not "Hip" x rays. It's an MRI or CT scan of the skull form a different department. The x ray technician is fully protected from "scatter radiation" behind that booth with the window with no chance of repeated exposure day in and day out. Barium sulfate is a contrast agent that works by coating the inside of your esophagus, stomach, or intestines which allows them to be seen more clearly on a CT scan or other radiologic (x-ray) examination to help diagnose certain disorders of the esophagus, stomach, or intestines.
The third are was the "Triage" area to determine what the patient is suffering from and proper treat and procedures can be carried out. The surgical light cluster would be used for urgent care or emergency surgery such as closing a wound, then placing a patient in a hospital bed afterwards. That is an x ray of the lower back showing the vertebrae, not a spinal cord. Those are unused chemistry blood sampling tubes with a separator (not plasma) that separates whole blood from serum. The serum is what is used to test for blood chemistry such as cholesterol, toxicity (with different colored tubes), etc. The second device in your hand is used for examining the eye and retina. That's old coffee spilled on the computer and keyboard, not blood. Old blood turns black because of the iron in it. The room where you really found blood was a laboratory. The equipment, being the most expensive and removable was taken out and samples left in the bio fridge. They just moved other things not related to the lab when they left. When you finally found the operatoratory section the rack of white items are catheters used in cardiac procedures and ti break open blood vessel clots, clean them out and install stents to keep blood flow going in patients with risk of developing clots. The equipment is very much salvageable, can be reconditioned or rebuilt.
I am by no means criticizing you in this video. I am just explaining each portion of the video so your viewers would have an understanding. Cheers.
❤ thanks!!!
Me and one of my coworkers were one of the last people of the closing of a very very old hospital. We volunteered to make sure everything was out. Everything was gone and that hospital was haunted. Many things happened in that hospital when I worked there on the MedSurg floor where I worked until this day, the hospital still stands where there is death strengths things do happen
😢
Alright. Spill. What hospital was it?
Can you tell us more about that hospital?
With seeing this don’t you think that all the peoples information and blood in their Social Security numbers I mean bad people will steal their identity I mean people are taking homes from people and everything it’s gotten so crazy if you work there maybe you could tell me need to get all that information out of there thank you sorry that you didn’t get it work God bless you my dear
What ghost 👻 are there 🙏. 🕊🤍🕊
Imagine all the value just in Stainless Steel alone. They up and walked way from perhaps 10s of thousands of dollars in items. Like ice machines and kitchen equipment O.R lighting various other things that people would have bought at auction at the time, crazy waste
What a shame all these medical items were left behind. I'm sure nursing homes could have used these, ot possibly schools. The beds, chairs tables could be used in homeless shelters. You are correct, Leslie, that you don't understand our medical systems. So much waste in this hospital that was left behind.
I'm glad you didn't encounter any ghosts!! 😂 Thank you for an eye opening tour!!
I'm so excited i was wondering when you would post the abandoned hospital video here you go ❤ thank u
I'm sooo excited ❤ ✨ literally I was wondering when you would post the abandoned hospital video and here you go... 🤭❤
Too bad you didn't see the morgue.
Hi Leslie thanks for the video I loved it and I'm glad you made it out safely
Thank you for the tour of this hospital. Where did everybody go? I take very good care of myself so I will die at my home. Why did they waste all this money to later abandon it? It is very sad.
Humans are so wasteful. Always, wanting bigger abd newer.
I take very good care of myself so I will die at home. That really makes a lot of sense 🤔
Awesome video! Thanks for providing this cool footage.
I admire you! You have so much respect … thank you for showing 😊
Excellent video really enjoyed this thanks ❤
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. I enjoy them immensely.
This was another awesome explore.
I could watch this all the time
I loved this video! Really spooky. I was looking forward to you finding the morgue of the hospital but I still loved this video.
Horror game material... 😅
I'm thankful you didn't jump scare us 😅😂
Thanks for this fascinating documentary. I found the wasted equipment and supplies heartbreaking. They could have been used in other hospitals to save lives.
Why did they not sell off what they could? So much there that could have been used, some could be even now. What a waste.
Always love your videos,,and I enjoyed this also,it was different ,but very good, Keep going.🎉
Thanks awesome video I enjoyed watching
It sat untouched for about 25 years with even the pens and phones untouched.
Most likely 40 Million in equipment rotting away.
@user-rj1ri2oq9r I definitely know that they don't care because it's not "their" money.
Always Great Journey and video !! ❤
Thank you for another great video Leslie ☺️!!! It was also amazing👌 !!! Much Love from Germany 😘🙋♀️☺️
If I had known you all would explore abandoned hospitals I would have told you about one in Asheville, N.C. It was about 39 minutes east of Ghost Town in Maggie Valley. When they merged with Memorial Mission Hospital In the next years it was sold and they abandoned the Saint Joseph hospital which had 13 main operating rooms and 2 cysto procedure rooms,10 floors,2 large ICU 'S.and all equipment. They got rid of trained security and hired untrained ppl. The services left have dissatisfied personnel and community too. This place has two main operating rooms and appears to just barely have 2 Anesthesia machines Very little left behind. A great job showing it to us and thank you so much.😁
Lesly., we love your videos and blogs for your expressions and sense of wonder. 😮
This hospital 🏥 was interesting. Love the way you end your videos.
From Oregon
Love you, Lorri
What they should do is make these hospitals into temporary residences for homeless/mentally ill people. Get them social services and job training and life skills training. We have almost no state hospitals or treatment centers left in USA and a huge homeless problem with too many mentally ill going back and back into psych ward at regular hospitals.
I was thinking the same thing about all the homeless souls ❤🇺🇸
Awesome idea!
8 million illegals are treated far better..
That's insane....3 meals,laundry service,free room , schools, healthcare,...everything while veterans suffer in streets...8 million ...why
Who will pay for it? This hospital isn’t in good condition for people to be staying. It would have to be cleaned up and stocked with supplies.
@jclay452 Our government should. Not out of our pockets but the governments pockets. They steal money, and then they can help. I'm just thinking. What do you feel about that. Bad idea? Idk this world is so messed up. If I could live in Ireland in the countryside, I would 😊✌️
I enjoy seeing all types of environment through your eyes. Never stop exploring my dear.
This is an amazing experience, you should make a video of something spooky like an abandoned asylum or cemetery for Halloween ❤❤
Nice job guys!
More hospitals please!! Fascinating content.
Waah!! You really have the confidence and courage to get inside these abandoned places. Some of which look extremely creepy. This one was scary to say the least!!
Keep doing your thing bro. I like watching your content.
Hello , I love your channel . Subscribed for years. So happy that the BOD came to my country ! Wow ! Love ❤️ you so much. You won’t find ghosts unless you’re looking for them. Please don’t look. Welcome to you friends! Keep exploring!
Thank U Lesley 💓
Lesley you are great !
I'd have loved to explore that hospital with you and I could've told you exactly what some of the things you had questions on. I'm a former medic of the US Army Reserve, and I knew exactly what some of the things you picked up were. Great video.
I look forward to every video you upload
The silver tub is a hydro therapy tub for treatments, the wheel was for a section of fire hose and barium sulfate, patients drink and upon xray you can see it move through the digestive tract. The second object in hand in the pink treatment room is an ophthalmoscope used to look inside of the eyes.
.
Amazin Leslie!!😃.......I luv ur vids 😊 🙋🏻♀️🌸🕊🍀😘
you are a great narrator !!! from northern wisconsin
😭,Bros, very bold be careful, use 😷 God bless you babu
Nothing is free someone has to pay
Thank you Lesley. I really enjoy watching your videos, I hope you are enjoying being in the USA while your recording places out here. God bless you and your friend. Be safe. ♥♥♥
The first room you went through to get to the second operation room was the prep room where the doctors get ready, scrub and enter the surgery off of the prep room was the room to clean and sterilize the instruments and applicable equipment. Most if not all the equipment there is so outdated by now no one would want to use it if they could.

YES hello Bro of Decay Always watching bro
your Video very much
The place is scary and I feel the smell of the place is rotten 🙊🙈🙀 Most hospitals, homes, etc., in America are abandoned, leaving behind their belongings.
Hey dear Lesley, I fully agree to you, that this night explore must have been a very creepy experience for you. And it is so very true, how unfortunate a medical system is, if not everyone can afford medical treatment. Here in Switzerland a basic health insururance is even compulsary by law. - Although I have seen several hospital explores by your US-explorer mates Josh, Proper People and Steve Ronin, I had again the impression, that you add simply with your unique way of exploring and your respect and very expressive sensitivity a very own quality to such a sad location like this hospital, which is already showing so evident traces of heavy decay. Amazing and in some parts very fascinating!
Of course I also got very thoughtful to see such an enormous amount of still intact medical equipment and furniture rotting away. What an unbelievable and shameful waste, especially when you consider how expensive medical equipment is. And another detail, making me so angry, was to see patient files and medical test samples just being left abandoned behind, - stuff, that is normally highly confidental. - Dear Lesley you did a great job with your camera and your comment! Respect, bro! Although when watching your video I had the same ambivalent feelings you also expressed, when you were reflecting over the health care system and how difficult the access to proper medical care is without a good insurance.
Wishing you all the best, peace and kindest regards.
Willy, this an example of why I enjoy reading your comments. I agree with everything you have said, and I can add a story of personal experience for anyone who thinks American health care providers never turn anyone away - my youngest daughter has been having difficulty finding a decent OB/GYN , and has been turned away from 3 practices because they refuse to accept the insurance she has. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find good providers here. She's seeing a new one today, so I'm hoping it goes well. ❤️
Que pena, tanto abandono, habiendo tanta necesidad en el sistema de salud en todos lados!Gracias Leslie y Maureno, los sigo siempre desde Argentina, una alegría verlos juntos!!!Los quiero!❤❤
Very beautiful and sad
It may not be your usual but it was awesome. I agree it gives a very different apocalyptic vibe … but so cool. It reminds me of the large location we went to when you/Danny were here (can’t wait to see that video)…Hope you guys are well.. ❤
❤شابوه لفريق العمل ❤بالتوفيق دائما ❤من مصر أشاهد ❤
Nice to see you guys here in Florida!
Hospital gown Leslie ❤🇺🇸
It’s amazing to see those biological samples left behind, there’s no hazard inspection involved when they close institutions like these? Leslie didn’t show the hospital purge section, it’s probably filthy….and I’ve got chills when he entered the radiology department probably not safe, leaks possible due decay. Take care Leslie
Only radiation leak to worry about in radiology is if the x ray transformer is cracked with the irradiated oil leaking out and that's impossible.
Could anyone please tell me why such a hospital that is so important and costs millions of dollars is closed?! Why all in a mess and vandalized? Is this hospital haunted?
So much waste in this country. You guys are enjoyable to watch. I like the ones with you and Danny.

Bugüne kadar izlediğim en harika mekan burasıydı! 💯💯
I'm in the US and yes we do have to pay. The hospital can charge $25 for an aspirin if they want. I was annoyed by the waste of equipment when there is so much need. Blood is considered biohazard waste material, but I'm thinking it was probably illegal for them to leave patients records that contain their social security number, date of birth, personal and private information. That kind of data can be used by scammers. Thank you Lesley for the video. We certainly have to do better in this country.
Very creepy. You are brave going in there Lesley. Good on you. A good video though.
Wonderful,🤔🙏👍💐
Perfect
That last part looks like the emergency depth where people come for care. They use those curtained rooms to put people so drs can assess them
WOW!!
It disgusts me that so much of this hospital was left to rot with so much of it that is still in good condition. I assume it went bankrupt, went into receivership and no one will buy it because the majority of the patients served there are all probably passed as evidenced by all the records left behind. By law patient records are to be boxed up and stored for future reference or legal investigations. Tank you for this great video. It may bring awareness to agencies that know nothing about this abandoned hospital.
What a crazy place...
I thought Lesley was going into the Ghost Hunting field 😂 no less interesting, Keep the content coming cheers guys. 👍
Hi,what a amazing place, but what a shame that all goes to waste and decay.
Hello Lesley...don't you get scared of doing night explorations? I was so scared to see the video. Very very interesting video I must say. No words. Just amazing. Thanks a lot. Take care😊
The stuff all over the computer is either dried iodine or dried Betadine. They are related. Used a ton in veterinary medicine.
Eu tbm amo vcs..
This looks like one that was hit by mass flooding from a hurricane, that or there was a extreme contamination leak from a research center. This isn't anything that would be left behind from any other circumstances.
Some of the equipment could be used in other countries where it is needed. How sad.
The ‘reception’ area was likely a nurses station. Emergency and regular reception are a much larger area. It’s sickening w/ the health costs in the US that all of this equipment and supplies were just left to rot!! Thank you ‘Bros’ for all of your videos as they are so incredibly enjoyable❣️
I like all abandoned buildings
Wow all that ridiculously expensive equipment
You guys are awesome - what are your full names and where are you guys from? Your voices are awesome too! I live in Lancaster, South Carolina.
This place look creepy, bold stain in
bed and on operation bed , very interesting VDO and scary indeed, I would have a nightmare to go in this decayed hospital, thank for sharing.
Abandoned hospital very scary
Such a waste, incredible. Why wasn't all that stuff moved to another hospital.
Perfect video to watch on a dark and rainy day!😘. Was there no morgue?🤔
This video would be appropriate for Halloween night.
พวกคุณยอดเยี่ยมจากไทยแลนด์...❤❤❤❤
Hello it's fantastic from Argentina buenos aires ❤
I hope that somebody is still not waiting on their blood test results
🇬🇧What an incredible video, as a nurse I found this so interesting, what a waste of equipment / furniture etc where some of this could be used else where. What of the the documents left lying around….????
You are so handsome, Leslie. This old lady in Michigan is seriously crushing. 🥰
Sayang banget ya trbengkalai bgitu tadinya knapa ya bisa trbngkalai bgitu
Fascinating departure from mansions and manors. I wouldn't mind seeing more videos like this. It's telling the story of the caregivers and medical workers and. Indeed, it's shameful that politics are what they are in this country right now but hopefully you enjoyed your time here despite it all.
Wow Very creppy. I like !!
People in other countries buy US hospitals, theaters, other businesses and land. Most will pocket the money run the hospital in the ground then leave. The hospital in my town shut down with patients getting prepped for surgery that morning. They threw away our records even though we asked to transfer them. Our health care is good we have a lot of poor that are covered completely. You get to select your insurance and every state is different. We have hospitals that you can apply for help to pay for bills. The nuns will pay for bills too
Great video.. Can you video a morgue ????
And no, LOL, no wine for a celebration from the surgeons after an operation! 😂
Creepy is an understatement
It was a bit different than your normal content as you said towards the end of your video. I do enjoy these type of explorations
though. I do like when you explore abandoned markets, bistros, hotels and industrial buildings. One of my favorites was the coal processing facility that you documented a few years back. I believe it was in France?
Glad you wereing your gloves 💋
