I'm still a newbie in this game (177 level), but most of the time in Bethesda games, I play stealth classes. I've been looking for a good bloody build for a long time, but so far, nothing. However, I’ve noticed a few things about stealth: 1. This is clearly visible in the video at 7:06. So, I'm not entirely sure that the enemy spotted you specifically because of the light. The ghoul simply "touched" your character model directly, and at that point, even with 9999+ agility, it's an automatic stealth fail. 2. In Fallout 76, specifically in this game, I also noticed something else. Enemies will always search for you in the last place they saw you, and they’ll also shoot at that location. For example, my stealth tactic is that if I get into a direct confrontation at medium-long range, I intentionally break stealth for a second to mislead enemies. After that, I change my position to flank them while they're shooting at basically nothing. In the video, this happens to you quite often-ghouls search for you and "run into" you, causing you to fail stealth. So, I think it’s worth testing this by changing positions. I could be wrong about all of this, but these are just my point of view. But my observations do not contradict your points about direct light and the overall armor comparison. Thank you.
Funny how useless stealth is running events and the raids. By the time you earn the Chinese stealth armor in the game your strong enough not to have to sneak....
Yeah, it's a bit annoying. I keep my stealth suit in my hotbar for when I'm doing Eviction Notice, because as a non PA build, it's quicker for me to switch to stealth armour than PA or chug a load of chems if the rad scrubber breaks (I've learned NEVER to assume anyone else will fix it). Equally I use it to get the uranium in Radiation Rumble. Other than that, though, I never bother with it.
@@MrandMrsQuack not really. Once you get past the single player campaign, it's almost entirely useless to run a stealth build, because everything can see you.
@@peterclarke7006And by the time people realize they're not able to sneak they're usually strong enough to just face tank all of the damage anyway lol
@@chipputer yep. I mean, I keep the Chinese stealth armour in my hot bar because there's moment in certain events where having rad protection is REALLY useful, but I never use it for stealth.
I'm a PA user, but always have the stealth suit with me. Beside being the best radiation suit (in my opinion) - that stealth thing it does is just stupid amounts of fun. Might have to be permanently aware of your inventory weight in this game - excessively so - but my stealth suit ain't going anywhere.
The "reduce detection chance" bonus from "Secret Agent's" and from Stealth suit are both not working. The "Less Noise While Sneaking" is working correctly. You think that stealth suit is providing a buff to sneak because it has the invisibility bonus which does 99% of the work. You can compare 5x 1* chameleon pieces vs stealth suit and you can see that the "reduce detection chance" does not provide any bonus. From datamining part of things, these are the same effects. And as a ide note: they "fixed" stacking. So now multiple 3rd star effects should correctly work and 4 pieces should give you full noise while sneaking suppression. Once they fix sneak not working at all, it will also be able to stack. It does not work because they changed it from +25 to +25%. 25% of 0 is 0.
Been a while, but Im glad to see you Turtle. Its always a nice start to my day when I see your videos. Aa always, keep it up and I (along with many others) appreciate your videos and advice. Also as a aide note: Yes, I do love chinese stealth for rad reduction, but covert is nice for the effects you get from legendaries, so in my opinion, I think its better in that regard, but at the same time, chinese is just a great way to stay out of trouble almost completely Thanks Turtle 🐢
I have worn the stealth suit for years now. I like it as I can decide when I want to engage, or simply slip by. I am not a run and gun build, preferring to be the sniper style game play.
I would love the stealth suit if I could wear under armor and a costume over it. Never could bring myself to use it as any more than a radiation suit due to that limitation.
Isn’t that just the same predicament tho you can’t wear normal hazmat/radiation suit under armour or under clothing you might as well run stealth suit for the little damage and energy resistance
I Love sneaking and using VATS. CSA is perfect for me if I am in high radiation areas. But I like more DR so I use Ultra light BOS combat armor until I can get SS. In my SS armor with maxed Agility and sneak parks I can hold off Scorchbeast and a handful of ghouls at same time. Have done 2 Scorchbeasts but have to be a little more strategic about it. OH. I hate power armor. Vampire on Fixer keeps me alive most of the time.
Personally, I would love to see more paint colors for the Chinese stealth armor , and they need to add it to where you can add mods to it and legendary perks. The only reason I don’t use it is because it’s not good with weight you know what and I got so many legendary effects like unyielding on my Secret Service armor and a Jetpack if the stealth armor had that it would be awesome too they need to add legendary effect bare minimum to the Chinese stealth armor
They should make a new mini mission in which we upgrade CSA because its fun to move cloaked and have radiation def, it would be fin to have another non PA usefull suit
I use my Stealth Suit in place of a Hazmat these days but for day to day stealthing I find my Secret Service does me just fine as long as I'm paying attention.
Wish there was an easy way to test the aggro of the one punch mole miners. I swear it feels like escape artists reduction in running noise makes it easier to slip past befor they notice you.
Indeed, it's often underestimated because the effect is only active while stationary, but each piece carries a 20% reduced detection chance that stacks up to 100%.
@@GremlinSciences That's not true... Each piece makes you only 20% more invisible, there's no additional stealth effect. So 5x chameleon is basically the same as stealth suit, but you cannot move lol
Honestly lately ive been getting tired of stealth Vats commando And trying Riflemen/Sniper- im aware you cant really 1 shot enemies especially lvl 100s and its kind of hard to judge distance cause 200 range is a little unclear plus there's also the limited render distance

This makes me want to play stealthed NA Rifle again, but if you have to reset your stealth after every kill to get the sneak bonus, thats just too much work.
You remain stealthed while crouching and shooting when using the Chinese Stealth Armor. So if you want a good stealth sniper build, it's best to use the Chinese Stealth Armor with a silenced (suppressed) gun, or a bow or crossbow.

Can you ahow us a case where stealth would matter? It's a alower way to deal with the same issue. What benefit is it? Extra damage? When you kill everything so quickly? Except for bosses when stealth doesn't matter? Is it for play style? There's not much to do end game wise that isn't better if you're just moving faster. Just for fun? After hundreds of hours in other games playing stealth that are just more fun to approach with stealth but in this bug fest?
Stealth gets you more damage, cutting TtK by more than 50%, greatly reduces how much you get attacked, and makes you a smaller target when you do get attacked. The only cost for all that is a reduced movement speed, and that penalty can actually be reduced almost into nonexistence depending on what armor you wear. Stealth is especially effective however when your goal is to accomplish some task that isn't just killing everything. Being able to traverse an area without getting shot at usually saves more time than fighting through it with a faster movement speed, and because you aren't constantly being shot at you are more able to perform any required interactions and won't be forced to flee to cover outside objective areas. About the only time stealth isn't useful is when some mechanic makes stealth impossible, such as raid bosses seeing you regardless.
Hi mate nice video maybe one day you make a video about all mods you need to unlock from Vulcan power armor and pass through one by one to make us understand better the mods
There's another counterpoint against the Chinese Stealth Armor... Secret Agent's. On top of ALL the Agility you have, the Secret Agent's legendary can STACK WITH ITSELF, up to 125%. Put that on Covert armor, and you won't even NEED to use Escape Artist most of the time.
I daily run stealth suit, but looking to switch off it. The one reason that is the dealbreaker - you cant see the sights (including the damn red-dot laser) while aiming if you are concealedz because it too goes invisible, its so annoying
I finally got the autoaxe and killed the first boss solo and instantly got kicked out of the game (before the reward window even came up). "You were removed from the server for having modified game files". I have never modified ANY game files and use NO mods of any kind. I only have my steam library of games and not a single mod for any game I even own. Been playing this for years with no issues.
Thats the anti cheat detection and it can happen with fast hitting weapons like the auto axe. On PTS they overhauled the pistol perks to give extra firerate for all weapon types which caused this disconnect message to show up on a lot more weapons like minigun or ultracite laser. The testers reported it as a bug and hopefully the hit rate treshold for the anti cheat detection is getting changed with the next update.
