- 10/25/12: Major translation update! I'm updating the text version now... From Rokkenjima Yakai. Ushiromiya Lion and Will Wright's image song.TERRIBLE EP7 spoilers, and if you haven't read at least half of EP8, it's...just not gonna make sense. For reasons you'd understand if you finished all of EP7.
Aha, forget what I said about "whopping." The title is as above. That number is so big, that they've forgotten the end of it...
Also, another note I've been wanting to put in: "jama," as in "obstacles" - well, I guess that's not the best word to use. It means "obstruction, hinderance" with connotations of "annoyance, bother." (And the word uses the kanji for "wicked witch/demon." It's kinda funny.) It's more along the lines of "something that's in the way." - it's informal, the way Will's using it. But English doesn't seem to have one word like that.
...I honestly considered translating it as "pain in the ass." But not even I am capable of THAT bad of a pun.

Noticed that Lion's voice actress, Ayako Kawasumi also voice Saber from Fate/Stay Night, Zero and Grand Order! Imagine if Will is the Shiro of Umineko No Naku Koro Ni, it makes lot damn sense!

Have you thought of first using annotations and then rendering it only when you've had the time to check that everything is right?
Otherwise I saw someone posting hardsubbed videos and then using annotations to cover a wrong sentence with the right one.
Though I understand if you don't feel like doing so much extra work. Again thank you for your translations which are really great!
I honestly have to question the "イトミミズ"/Don't think too hard" translation. Any reason why it says that? Not that I'm calling you out for a mistake but I feel like there's some pun in there that I'm missing (as itomimizu directly translates to "tubular worm," while "-zu" is a way to conjugate a negative verb.)
Maybe I am thinking about it too hard!
So would I, but I get kind of sick of rerendering and patching up the video with annotations every time I type something in wrong. I still wanted to color code it though, so I thought I would experiment to see if I could pull this off with annotations.
It's still a little hard to read though, and if people download the video, they won't get the words, so I think I'll go ahead and put them in the description too.

They were on RUclips's old caption system, you know, the ones that would pop up on screen that you could click and drag around, or X out of. RUclips completely shifted them out, so there goes the subtitles as well.

I really like this song even though I know next to nothing about these characters but I do have one question and it's not the question that's been constantly asked and/or debated in the comments below.
I do not care if the blonde is a boy or a girl or a hermaphrodite and I don't care about why they are that way... I just want to know if their eyecolor is brown or blue? Some of the pictures have the blonde's eyes blue and others have them brown and there's even one picture that has them green. Which one is it?
Well, point is, it is very important for story... I guess author wanted to keep uncertainty so magic can still exist. Well, that must be more confusing than answering anything. That's an umineko thing but you can rest assured that both options can be drawn freely.
Lion has brown eyes, at least from what we see in the novels.
It's possible, for certain reasons, that his REAL eye color is blue though. It's kinda difficult to explain.
+BaouZakeruga Well, wiki says it's grey. Whether that was taken from novel and other "canonic" source or not - that I don't know. It is also possible that original text was open to misunderstangings, for exame colors ranging from green to blue (including those two) in japanese can all be described by "ao".

No. Lion was never in love with Battler. Lion and Yasu did not have the same experiences. Yasu fell in love with Battler due to her experiences in life and Battler's being kind to her after all that. Lion generally had a good and easy life, not hurt by the fact that they're intelligent and gets through school easily. Because of that, they never had reason to fall in love with Battler, and why Beatrice didn't exist in Lion's world. They might be the same person, but they aren't the same person. I believe the game goes into how a person's identity isn't given by who they are, but what experiences they go through, so the same person could turn out completely differently depending on if they have a good or bad childhood.

As for the first one, maybe I'll make a hardsubbed version later after the translation looks solid and I've made any corrections. Also, leaving out the text made it render just a little faster.
...and yeah, most of my repatching really is stupid mistakes in the actual translation, though this time I typed something in wrong (I left out the kanji for 10,000. One in 257 chance? It's just a little off... XD)
