For all the Americans in the comments talking about wanting to use cheddar: No u can NOT use Cheddar. Cheddar does not go with stuff like this. Simply because the cheese is too salty. Though it wouldve worked if the cookies were sweeter. Try and stick to Gouda cheese. If that's not possible use Edam or Havarti cheese. They both go with sweet stuff but are a bit more expensive. Also, try this recipe out with grapes as a side dish. Makes this taste even better. Greetings from Holland❤️🇳🇱 Update: I've been thinking and I feel like not everyone can get a hold of the cheeses mentioned above. Camembert and creamy Brie are a great alternative! Know that some Camembert cheeses can be very strong so please read the packaging first to know if it's mild or not! :) If u choose one of these cheeses I would definitely recommend it to eat it with grapes, the cheese could be a bit strong for some people so the grapes will balance it out beautifully. I tried it and it was SO GOOD! I tried eating the cookie with the gouda cheese but unfortunately mines was to salty so the flavors kind of clashed. But the cookie alone is so soft and the sweetness is not overpowering at all! It’s perfect! I love it so much, they would be perfect for Christmas with an assortment of other cookies! Bless you!
@@jerricho11 usually just 1 teaspoon so as to not change the consistency, you can add more if you want but you'd have to increase the ratio of dry ingredients~

I don't know how the gouda would go with the sweet cookies, but I do love the little thanks stamp.....very nice little extra touch to make them special.
She did that for baking purposes so each cookie bakes evenly, without the gaps the outside would cook faster than the middle and it's aesthetically pleasing.
Nothing to do with the cookie cutter or shape. It's because they're the type of cookie called a "short bread," and short breads don't spread during baking, so they can be closer in the oven. It's still good to give them some distance since steam will escape, and also gives all cookies uniform cooking otherwise you might see more browning around the edges.
Sagar Thorat her video's purpose is for baking but also for relaxing. Seeing those evenly spaced out satisfies many people. For home cooking, sure, go ahead and do that. It will still do good
As someone from Gouda it’s so weird to see what they call Gouda cheese in other countries although this one is actually very close compared to some, maybe it’s just the packaging
So much plastic, every single little slice of the cheese packaged individually :c Also idk if this recipe would work with the gouda thats commonly distributed in Europe, the cheese in the video looked more like some kind of cream than an actual solid cheese U could still use some cheese without having it stretched around but im not sure about the texture

But I have always wonder where could you get such good butter, with nice white-ish color and smooth texture like that, because normally storebought butter is yellow and at most time cant blend nicely with sugar at room temp 🙈🙈. @@brightafterrain_ i think i used less heat than the recipee said because i have halogen oven and as for how long i just kept looking until it's going to be brown. Take it out before it's browning. Just keep looking at it i guess....
Looks great I”’m be sure to try it! Just one tip, if you’re gonna use a cookie cutter anyway, you really don’t need to cut off the rough edges when you roll out the dough. Also try to put the next cookie you cut out a bit closer to the one you just cut. You will be able to cut out more cookies in one roll out. The more you roll out the dough, the tougher it will become. And to anyone who doesn’t have a square cookie cutter, you can cut out square cookies by using a ruler and kitchen knife :)

Also idk if this recipe would work with the gouda thats commonly distributed in Europe, the cheese in the video looked more like some kind of cream than an actual solid cheese
U could still use some cheese without having it stretched around but im not sure about the texture
I'm pretty sure every country calls it "Gouda" because of the place of origin.

Hi Cooking tree, I have followed your recipes and they works so well. But I have always wonder where could you get such good butter, with nice white-ish color and smooth texture like that, because normally storebought butter is yellow and at most time cant blend nicely with sugar at room temp 🙈🙈. @@brightafterrain_ i think i used less heat than the recipee said because i have halogen oven and as for how long i just kept looking until it's going to be brown. Take it out before it's browning. Just keep looking at it i guess....

I bought the wrong gouda cheese and im in quarantine so I whipped cream cheese and sugar instead, still tastes great.
Looks great I”’m be sure to try it! Just one tip, if you’re gonna use a cookie cutter anyway, you really don’t need to cut off the rough edges when you roll out the dough. Also try to put the next cookie you cut out a bit closer to the one you just cut. You will be able to cut out more cookies in one roll out. The more you roll out the dough, the tougher it will become.
And to anyone who doesn’t have a square cookie cutter, you can cut out square cookies by using a ruler and kitchen knife :)
