Imagine going short on *THAT* position. And your power goes out, wifi goes out, cellular network goes out, and it takes 24 hours to come back on, you just lost SO MUCH for no reason without a stop loss.
Even I though I got into 10000€ profit within 2 days I can still see that my trading strategy was way too risky. I am going to work on my risk management and I really appreciate your video about this important topic. Keep up the good work bro! 👌

Question...what if I'm not the best at getting into the market at the bottom. Setting a stop loss will only reveal that I got in at a less then perfect time...not that the asset is actually going down. This is what is getting me into trouble. I hit my stop loss almost every trade because my entry is not the best timing. How to fix???

I watch this video for a number of times repeatedly and love the portion you said in @4:57, "how much my soul is willing to lose". I felt gutted and bad for a $1200 loss, how much more for a $6000, that's my entire soul LOL.

Great Warning. Placing the Stop Loss with cool thinking BEFORE even entering the trade. Forces the loss to keep it small, and not a Run-Away Loss! Thanks.

I've lost 3500 dollars in two weeks and that hurts :D. I've done exact mistakes, as you're describing here, e.g. holding the opposite trades in gold at once and trading in one minute time period. But still not a reason to quit. Sometimes, this should happen to greedy people like me to understand the risk of loss and patience. Gret videos you are making, they are really helpful

watched most of your videos learning alot. 3:18 was your 3 line strike strategy. I can agree why you executed another buy order, and RSI was oversold another confluence. however it was still a loss. besides stop loss. what would you have done different if this scenario was to happen again.
Do try to make thousands per trade. I wanted too much too fast and got burnt

I lost 10,000$ recently. I’m still relatively new to this and it messed me up. Now I’m willingly to start again with a demo account and learn actual technical analysis for forex. I’m not giving up.
I'm thinking off joining the 90 day education thing. I made 4k on the last sell off. Gave it all back last week! ☹🙁...I do have a weekly loss limit which preserved my initial deposit.

My first account got blown out on CPI news. Was trading at 0.10 and got margin called with a 152$ loss. It was a expensive lesson but I'm never in a trade now during high volatility news.

its crazyy the exact same thing happend to me yesterday with gold, wrong entery, went bad , added more after dropped , got down even more , got margin call which closed my positions, deleted almost all my account . wish i saw this video before haha

You're absolutely right. And yet I don't use SL. Because I'm crazy? No, because the brokers are evil. Or the market makers. I have repeatedly seen the price spike in the short term. Sometimes so short that it wasn't shown on the chart. Or the spread suddenly widened extremely. Both events triggered my SL. This happened very often with GBPJPY or XAGUSD.

I lost about 600$ in a day on a 1000$ account the same way. The day after lost 176$. One week later 200$. Because I was trading with no stop loss. Now I have 1.11$ in my account😅. So stop loss is your best friend in this game otherwise the market will hardly teach you that.

I may have taken the cake on this one. 4th day trading Live. I was up 30% on the account. Lost 80% in one day over 12 hours of non stop trading(to make back up losses)., No stop losses and all emotional trades. Market was sidways and I didn't pay attention to what it was telling me. This video has let me know that it is a lesson I had to learn. It crushed me today and hurt bad. Time to jump back in after a day away from it to clear my head. Fortunately I closed all trades before it took the whole account. (Slippage is real as hell, another lesson)

I always use a spread of exponential moving averages to indicate trend direction and in this case the price would have been below all the moving averages indicating a downtrend

Ha Ha... Sell at 70 and buy at 30. Oh was that like a light bulb shining for one day but left on for year for me. Letting go and picking up more tools seems to be the path. Bright and shiny objects aren't suppose to be held onto unless they gleam with results. A hard lesson I am now learning by your videos. A sure wake up call to "ACT, TEST, and continue to Learn"

Looks like everybody do the same mistake and only when you get margin call, you realize that better use stop loss. I had the same feeling and can't close position by my hands, waiting for price to recover. Thanks for this video. Good movies to watch: Margin Call and The Big Short.

i m always trade with the trend, not against the trend because it is hard to catch
reversal. PS: RSI on the 1/h time frame is much trustable than a 1 minute time frame, it is very important.

Wow this reminds me of how stupid I was with the US30 on Thanksgiving. Due to a COVID news event, it tanked my buy and I was crushed especially since I didnt have a stop loss. Blew my prop firm account and I had to reset, since then I NEVER EVER trade without the use of a stop loss. Great to hear I'm not the only one.

The same thing happened to me today with USD JPY. That's why I'm here. Lost £150 though. Still learning, but, this sucks. So far, minus 1k.
We all did that mistake/no stop loss.
I did it so many times that I could not come out of market because was so painful.
But as they say : we learn from pain.
My advice always use a stop loss, I personally always use stop loss now every time
You going to lose a few times, but the wining trades will make up for those losses
