The potential for a large amount of profits in a short time period makes day trading an appealing profession (and sometimes even hobby) for many individuals. While the concept may sound simple, in reality it takes careful research, thoughtful strategy, and often a few months of experience to truly succeed as a day trader.
It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of making quick moves on the market, which means it’s also easy to make mistakes that cost you big-literally.
Familiarize yourself with the most common day trading missteps, so you can avoid making them and maximize your trading dollars.
Day trading is not gambling, which means you can’t stake your money on chance. Day trading is about making quick, calculated moves that will minimize your risk of and loss maximize your potential for profit. That’s why rule number one for succeeding in the industry is to come up with a plan and stick to it. Take the time to educate yourself on trading strategy and research market patterns, and use that information to develop a plan. When you commit to a plan, your emotions are less likely to take over and lead you astray in the heat of a trade.
While experienced day traders can sometimes make this mistake in a moment of fearlessness, risking more than you can afford on one position is a mishap more common to new traders. Particularly when you’re just starting out, you want to stick to trading smaller positions (think 100 shares or less).
Day traders should concentrate on fixed and reliable returns. If you spend your time chasing the hottest stocks hoping to come out with a win, you’re more likely to panic sell or buy and end up losing.
Desperately holding onto losing positions is a very common day trading mistake that is, more often than not, based in emotion. Unfortunately, it’s also a mistake that can quickly destroy your enterprise.

#9 was my beast but I took that to the back of the barn and handled it with care.... Losing profits or making loses even worse due to over trading was another issue but I've been able to control that freak of nature. Thanks for the knowledge Arty, keep them coming.

Dude, this is one of the most inspirational videos I have seen in a while. I'm working on moving from retail into day trading and I'm still in the phase where I'm developing my strategies with a very low capital. Today is kind of sideways for me and I was feeling a bit down, but especially when you got to the end with the "don't give up" I realized that not every trade is a win and it lifted my spirits. Thank you, you always say it right, I'll keep on improving everyday, What I am doing right now is I stay with one strategy
3SMMA, RSI divergence and Fractals, I'm sticking on this strategy and practicing and keep recording my trades.
I scalp in 1M time frame in 3days now and I have won 5 times and 2 losses everyday, but still winning in total,
I'm glad to see my account is not decreasing but increasing little by little.
First time viewer, great list! Going on 2.5 years of education and learning the ins and outs. Moving forward with purchasing a laptop/pc to further the process.

so glad i watched this 10 mistakes video to day,as no 10 did it for me. I have been feeling like that for the last few weeks. I joined a 3 month course with you and did the1st quiz and still going the 2nd video, then went into a lull.and got so overwhelmed by it then got sick and had to have an operation last week... finally got back on to day,watched a supply and demand vid and the 10 mistakes. so it has bucked me up again as i generally dont give up and this has given me

Take the advice of practicing with a $50 account before putting in big bucks. There's an entirely new lesson to be learnt while trading live. The emotions are real.

Thanks for all these great tutorials Arty. I have watched your beginner playlist about 6 or more times, your more advanced strategies about 2 or 3 times. I have other channels I watch from time to time but your tutorials are right down to basics, step by step and far easier to follow.
