Ill be honest yea i mean its still janky but this actuly seams like a game a actual person would play unlike litraly every single other airport sim. its taken almost 10 years but we final got a ok one XD
I'm a former ramp agent (ground crew) for American Airlines. alot of things were surprisingly accurate and I was impressed with the level of detail in the 3D models
also Dan trying to pushback an aircraft with NO tow-bar made me laugh my ass off
Jeff Favignano is a youtuber that worked in airports and he seems to think they are pretty damn good
From what I know I think the scenery and objects are made my MK Studios who create airport scenerie for flight simulators like MSFS/FS2020, P3D etc. and they are pretty good I own some of them. So I think they are going for a more serious and accurate approach

Fun fact: The stock footage at 6:30 was filmed sometime between 2016 and 2020, as the plane in the immediate background is licensed as HS-LUO. That specific plane model was only licensed as HS-LUO when it was at Thai LionAir, the airline seen in the stock footage, when it was with them before it went to Indonesian LionAir, where it got relicensed with an Indonesian identification (PK-LQZ).
Another fun fact: This video proves the existence of at least 3 Karen Gillians.

I’ve figured out how to drift them in the rain but I’m still working on the burnout method
Seeing this took me straight back to Primary school when my best friend told me to look up a video about "Nerd Three Airport" when I got home. I'm not entirely sure how much Dan influenced my humour as I was growing up, but I've now come to realise half of the things I quote as jokes come from here. Glad to see a childhood hero who has not turned into a scammer or worse and has just remained themselves, love you Dan!

While the game clearly has some severe kinks, the majority of Dan's problems here were because the game wouldn't accommodate his genius.

You look for a push back bar that connects to the pushback tug that attaches to the wheels on the front of the aircraft. once it is connected, then you can push the aircraft back.
Loved the (cough) professional touch to the game play. Loved looking at the plane exploding on the runway while landing.
Love your usual playful game play that you are known for..

I think all the people here who are saying that this is a return to form for Daniel are kinda missing the point. I think it's less that daniel is "Going back to the old way" and more that this is what Daniel's videos are like when he's allowed to make them in a healthy way, without the stresses of youtube's jackfuckery constantly overshadowing any fun he may be having during the creation process. Not to mention this is a long-standing series, so he's using the old format here.
I do miss the cutaway/transition gags though

The last time I watched nerd3, must've been back in 2012-2014 I believe he was playing some airport firefighter game or something like that. This recently appeared in my recommended and after clicking on it I feel like i've been transported back to my childhood, and nerd has not changed a bit it seems.

as someone who has done this job irl im surprised at how well dan has showed a day in our life, we very much do not know what were doing but we have those orange sticks and thats pretty neat
jokes aside bags falling off bag carts is super common, i worked out of CYTZ and the carts they use dont have railings
I remember being 12 when Airport Sim 2012 came out, Dan played it 2 weeks after I got it... wish I waited the two fucking weeks, now I am 11 years older and still feels awesome to feel like that again
