- A few days ago, I received a tape of the Jaco Pastorius Trio from October 26th, 1985, and I have been listening to it ever since. One of my favorite performances is this rather short rendition of Fannie Mae, which was also issued on volume four of the Live in New York City series. The two-piece rhythm section, consisting of Jaco on bass and Victor Lewis on drums, does a great job of complementing Hiram Bullock's energetic soloing, and my god does it sound good. This experience is further enhanced by Jaco's deep yet perfectly punchy bass tone, which the recording does a good job capturing. Enjoy!
Hiram Bullock - guitar
John "Jaco" Pastorius III - bass and vocals
Victor Lewis - drums

Jace sounds F****king great here. What a tone! Got any recordings from this set?
I agree, this bass tone is incredible. I received the complete recording of this show under the condition that I wouldn't post it here. This is not from that recording, but from one of the Live in New York City CDs and it sounds just as good.
I get notifications of some of your videos you are posting but when I click on them I get a message saying the videos are private and can't view them. What's up with that?
@@JacoPastoriusArchive Not sure you can answer this, but why would someone but that type of condition on these recordings? No one here is going to try to exploit it and make $$$ from it. We just love hearing different recordings of Jaco's live recordings.
@@jbass6182 There are reasons tape traders don't want select recordings to circulate outside a small group of people, and most often it's because they don't want the tapes to lose their "value."
This is the best version of Fannie Mae to me.
His bass speaks! Thank you! 🤣😂🤣Big fun!
You're right, it does. Thanks for commenting!
I took down two of my previous uploads, because they were performing very poorly. I'll see how this one does, and if it does well, I'll reupload them soon.
Keep em up! I personally get to all of them eventually and appreciate them. This recording seems better than the CD version. Thanks for all the uploads!
Love this, thanks so much for putting these up, it's appreciated.
Thank you so much, Laurie!
Fire! Great stuff!
I agree, they're on fire here. Thanks!
Where's the video, mate..??
