Y'all know this is just my opinion, right? What did you think of this album? Love it? Hate it? Why? What should I review next, eh?
"It's been a pleasure Stefan"
This line got to me
Yeah, in the music video he rests his head on the wall at that exact moment, also the "all the nights I don't die for you" brought me to tears. Probably the song I can relate to most...
But *death grips is online*

As someone from Sacramento I also don’t know
Im not convinced people really are
I think he was definitely talking about his own suicidal thoughts. I mean he even used his birth name in a lyric: "It's been a pleasure, Stefan." That could be interpreted as MC Ride's persona leaving Stefan and us seeing less of a character on this track, but based on the context of the lyrics I really think this is Stefan describing years of living for the sole purpose of not wanting to upset friends with his death.
YoDawgoneeleven it’s the only time he’s used his birth name on a track.
It's ego death
further proves jenny death is the realest dg album
This track is the death of Stefan and the full takeover of Ride, leading to Death Grips 2.0, the next track
A friend of mine said not too too long ago that life sucked and he wanted to drop out as soon as there was nobody left to rely on him. He's in a better place now mentally, but I had been there before him, and it hit for me with the reminder.
I didn't think Death Grips would play with my emotions.

1k like, hey 😏
Ain’t no memes. Super emotional point in their discography.
This song sounds like the perfect ending to an era of great music.
And there's one more track after it in the listing… can't imagine what that one's gonna sound like.
+ShellacSoup spoiler alert, its just some random crap
somesquirrel You're a year too late for this comment

@@somesquirrel it actually signifies death or something idk (im 7 years late)

So What The actual fuck do you enjoy?
Duarte Moreira i enjoy fucking bitches and getting money

Thank goodness I watched this video so i can determine whether or not to listen to the song of similar length as this video

You have a soft smile there
what if mc ride was just learning guitar this whole time?
That MC Ride impression was uncanny.
Stefans voice distorts in real life too
As a person who isn't a Death Grips fan at all. I really enjoyed this record. It was a little more easy to listen to than most of their discography. Great drums the ought the track, my favorite part of the song. Even though I had to look up the bars because I couldn't understand MC Ride, I found that they were really heartfelt and depressing but really effective. If the the rest of Jenny Death is like this record then I'll have to check it out
spot on. I only liked 3 tracks on money store and hated everything else before and after that album. This is my favorite DG song. I'm shocked how good this actually is.
***** record can refer to any recording
By record I mean this song. Hip Hop heads like me say that for some reason
The lyrics are in the description of every video they put up
***** I've been noticing that when people say "record" nowadays, they mean a song. Not an album. It's annoying and I've been hearing it more and more.
I'm Ready.
wait you like death grips what the hell. no way, never would have thought.
Wtf
Epik
The “phone ringing too long” could also mean death itself has been calling him “suicide” but he has been ignoring the call, but can’t ignore it forever
The fact that this line is paired with “I’m probably gone” and “Won’t let you know when I get goin’” signifies to me that it means his suicide is always a possibility without warning. He’s only not doing it because of family/friends, but it could still happen at any moment, and if the phone rings too long when you call him then you know what to expect. He doesn’t think it will happen soon, but it could.
This track is incredible. Powerfully dismal. Really revealing for Ride too, because he uses his real name in the line "use at your discretion, it's been a pleasure, Stefan".
Fantano seems to be taking a new approach with this track review. Intro song followed by the incessant ramblings of a hipster skinhead. He even mentions hanging African Americans several times during this review, also showing a picture of a homeless black man standing at the edge of a tall building, some say that is a picture Anthony took before he yelled "THIS IS SPARTA" and kicked him off. He even features one of his slaves "Big Quinn" at the end of the video.
If you can look past the racism of the review though, it's a pleasant watch with interesting edits.

I want another. Pls?
How the fuck do people come up with this shit
Chris Calculating Drugs are bad…. mmmmkay?
Hahahahaha make more of these
ShellacSoupATL that's funny coming from you Lord Quas.
Death Grips has always been extremely interesting to me, but I haven't really been that into the music itself since Exmilitary. But this is 10x better than anything I've ever heard for them. I really feel it, it's one of the strongest songs I've heard. And even though I always want more good music, I just hope they stop after this, because the 30 sec leaks + this track really makes me think that they're actually going to give out their best release. Would be a perfect and sad ending
But I still have no idea what "GP" is.
***** It either means "general principle" or their album "Government Plates"... No one knows for sure.
"Wouldn't believe how many nights I ain't died for you on GP"
I really hope he means Goverment Plates
Brandon Angelillo I thought it meant gun point...
It's grand prix
"All the nights I don't die for you"
The song is a masterpiece
been listening to this song for over a year now and it's still my favorite song and i don't think it will change in the near future
Same here. One of a kind track, no doubt. Dare i say top 10 track of all time for me.
Is it still your favorite
@@megweeni It's still my favourite Death Grips song, but not overall. Right now i wouldn't say that i have a favourite song. Also i have been listening to so many different kinds of music since then that it's hard to compare. I'd say On GP is still up there though. Some of my favourites right now are DEAD FLOWERS from HEALTH and Poppy, Sightless from Holy Fawn and Turnpike Divides from Thursday.
"I Want it I Need It" is another dope DG guitar song
that track actually got me into pink floyds first album, really like it
jaketaz but also samples still one of my favorites
yeah. that's because pink floyd wrote a really fucking dope guitar song.
YuruPivo yeah I’ll admit that when I heard it in Dr Strange I was like “death grips” even though I knew it was PF song.

Man, he's making it sound like this song is super subliminal, this song is downright heartbreaking, I've cried to this so many times, it's a perfect song about suicide, its devastating but powerful, even though it's one of their least experimental songs it's by far one of their best
Posted this comment on the video when it came out and I think it its relevant here too so I'll copy and paste it:
On some real shit though, this is actually the saddest DG song I've ever heard. It's hard for me to really connect with Stefan when he's all about primal emotion and anger and violence, and although he does talk about sadness quite often, he puts it in a light where it's only due to drugs or he ends up saying "but fuck it, I don't care" somewhere in the song. "It's been a pleasure, Stefan" hit me so fucking hard.
My point is, I've never really seen Stefan as a human until now, I've only seen him as MC Ride. This is a man with a life, a family. He presents himself like he doesn't give a shit but the same primal instincts he goes off of for anger and power give him fear and sadness. I like it, I can connect to it.
foxking39 I just saw this content on On GP right before this
Does Stefan need a hug will it even work on him
i wanna give mr ride a hug tbh
@@unhxlysilver1688 how will it affect him
This track really hit home and reminded me how much Death Grips helped me cope with tough times.
This is, in my opinion, the greatest song ever. It’s largely due to my similar thoughts/emotions, but the instrumentals, the lyrics, the message… it’s truly art
Reminds me of the cathartic, even slightly transcendent emotional quality of the best post-hardcore. It's an understatement to say that it's my favourite Death Grips song.
MmBuddha Same here man

Great thoughts as always, and yes, this is some super-depressing stuff. The lyrics are incredibly heavy and a lil' disconcerting. First time I've listened to a DG song fresh AND read the lyrics at the same time, really hits you like a ton of bricks.
This shit was one of the rawest tracks I heard from DG, felt like a movie
*As a HIGHLY successful youtuber / experimental youtube commentor / hip hop legend i thumbs DOWN this video! and im going to tell you why? Back when i was spittin' out flows in the ghettos of downtown i was creating real street shit that homies could resonate with. Sadly this also brought down attention on myself. I would get the PO PO trying to oppress me, as i wasnt a conformist and refused to cave in to the demands of "The Man". This track is the freshest shit i've heard in ages. I actually thought i was listening to some original content for a change, as opposed to another generic wholemeal loaf kanye west "song". When trollbag kanye fans pestered me over my critique of his "music" career i couldn't believe my eyes. I took a long hard look in the mirror and demanded that my eyes tell me the truth by clarifying the shit i was reading. I think this band is going places, i will personally make sure of it by using my influence in the music side of the youtube comment section. THINK about it!*
so ur gonna use ur influence to make sure this band goes to the top of the youtube comment sections..?

See, this is the experimental youtube commenter. A unpredictable and non-sense creature of the internet that tries to tell things by doing it in the oddest way possible.
(oh now is self-aware! we are so fucking doomed!!)
The guitar reminds me of Nick Reinhart, of Tera Melos fame, who also has done projects with Zach Hill before, and from what i have seen is a DG fan of sorts.SO maybe they recorded HIM?
If anyone knows the sample, I'd love to hear from someone with the info.
EDIT: I was right it was Nick Reinhart in several spots of the album. Fuck yas :D
Jennifer Demise at what point in time?
Saddest/most suicidal song remains Up My Sleeves, though On GP is a close second. Still, the emotion Stefan puts into Up My Sleeves, the obvious themes of suicide/mental illness, all seriously underrated. Not to downplay On GP at all, but Up My Sleeves deserves more recognition for just how bare Stefan lays it out. Up My Sleeves is absolutely more aggressive, yet every bit as depressive, possibly even more so than the latter. Not really arguing with this track review, just saying Up My Sleeves is criminally underrated, speaking of "Swan Songs" I'd say those two go about hand in hand.
3:41 "he sounds like a madman"... THE ABSOLUTE MADMAN
my uncle produced this song
does he work at nintendo?
Yung Cade yes, yes he does work at nintendo

I would never cry to a Death Grips son-

If rock bottom was a song, this would be it.
Idk man. Bottomless pit is imo a more viscous song, about someone who completes himself in his own atrocity.

You have the government plates vinyl and you didn't even like that record? *long sigh*
plus he re-evaluated it and gave it a seven.
He gave it a seven, you must be smoking rocks, real shit!
How is 6/10 a bad review
@@SpuroWasDead_WakeMeUpWhen From a certain point of view, the scores of 4,5 and 6 are the zone of mediocrity, which means the given piece of music is not memorable in any way, not even in a negative one.

SUICIDE AIN'T MY STYLE! SO I'M SURROUNDED!

I was just watching some Big Quint videos before I went back to the homepage and saw this
“the first half of the album” oh anthony
LOVE the song. It has pervaded my thoughtstream since the day they released the video of themselves listening to it in the echo chamber. I've listened to it at least thrice a day, every day since. Doris Day. Daniel Day Lewis. D-Day from Animal House.
Bruh melon didn’t know that the guitars in Jenny death is nick rineheart from Tera Melos
i think the guitarist is either Carson McWhirter or Nick Reinhart

My favourite song at the moment (I know I'm late) of anyone could recommend this kind of hard psychedelic rock that would be fucking awesome ty
The guitar is done by Nick from Tera Melos, for sure.
Inanimate Sensation came out in December, not the beginning of this year. Plus it was before Fashion Week, not after.
Death Grips could take a shit, record it. Anthony would still consider it a masterpiece.

You are soooo fucking lucky to have that GP vinyl, my dear sweet Anthony.
I really wish I got on that shit while it was around ;-;
this is my favorite song, it makes me feel so much
Amazing track, loved every thing about it
3:45: The entire story about Death giving him his weapon is, in comparison to pretty much anything and everything, coherent, almost rehearsed. Like a particular kind of note someone might write and rewrite and rewrite before they do a particular life exiting action
4:21: One of the things that got me thinking about this was how some folks were wondering if 2023 would be the last DG tour. I heard at a show some teens threw drink cups or something at Ride. Really sad. I think the point of the entire Coach drum kit + note thing was to say "we owe you NOTHING, we are here because we want to be, we will blow off a paid engagement and basically burn money to emphasize this." I hope Stefan rests for as long as he needs to and one day, naturally, we'll see Ride again. See, the old Filthy Frank fans know not to push or pressure Joji to let Frank out. He still has the suit in his closet calling to him like the Green Goblin.
5:08: And what's the next line bro? C'mon, tell us what the next line is. The one about how he has his limits too???? How can you just say that and gloss that over Melon??
Antony i have a question, do you write in when you put those ytp-esque effects in your videos in your review plans or do they just come along when editing later?
