It’s good to see they brought traditional dining back to the east coast routes. I think when they first brought it back after Covid it was only on the routes west of Chicago. Haven’t seen a recent east coast trip until now. 👍
Your video reminds me of the trips I took with my daughter from South Carolina to Indiana thru NYC, we got the bedroom. She loved being on the bunk with multiple stuffed animals as well. Memories that will never fade!
If you wanted to hit every long-distance route, starting and ending in Boston, you could try: Lake Shore Limited to Chicago; City of New Orleans to New Orleans; Crescent to NYP; Silver Meteor to Miami; Silver Star to New York; Cardinal to Chicago; Texas Eagle to Los Angeles; Pacific Surfliner to San Francisco/Emeryville; California Zephyr to Chicago; Empire Builder to Seattle; Coast Starlight to Los Angeles; Southwest Chief to Chicago; Capitol Limited to DC; Acela to Boston.
The entire trip was paid for using points i earned with my AMTRAK guest rewards card. But, riding coach on the way down was easy money. For me and my daughter it was like $295. But the way back with a roomette is more. Usually if you get it way ahead of schedule it can be anywhere between $350 to $450 for the roomette. But if you wait until a month prior its WWAAYY higher.
That lunch menu looks pretty basic tbh. Absolutely nothing to write home about. 2:30 once you see the plate at 3:04 you’ve decided to write, but instead of writing home, you’ve decided to complain to the management. Potato chips as a side? Seriously unimpressive.

I have to try a cross country one sometime to the west coast. Those look amazing as well.

Great minds think alike. I plan on more trips on the train soon.
Best vid I’ve seen of this train. Been kicking around the idea of taking the Amtrak north for fun.
Thank you. By all means take the trip. Gotta do it at least once. Well worth the experience. Great memories. I plan on traveling this way much more.
Nice video, and a great memory for your daughter, mom, and you.
I’m from Boston! This is my dream to go to NY to florida by train, so thank you so much for this video.
No problem. You should definitely do it. I’ve done the ride multiple times now. A lot of fun.
Great video! Sweet family!
Thank you. Was me, my mom and my daughter :)

How was the wifi on the train?
Can you open the windows for fresh air?
Unfortunately the windows do not normally open (except maybe in an emergency).
Is the bedding, comforters, pillows, blankets provided by Amtrak or did you bring them?
I brought a small blanket. But they provide good stuff in the room.
How much?
Depends on when you book it. The further out the cheaper. If you wait 2 months away its expensive
You didn't go on the cruise to Florida.
