With the US pulling out of the Paris Agreement... and its president chanting "Drill, baby, drill!"... it is absolutely fair to ask if your own personal climate footprint even matters anymore.

Geoengineering is inevitable...
We can't police the world enough to use energy austerity as a solution.
Our species will need to learn to control our homeworld's weather sooner or later anyway, this will just force it to be sooner.
It would be nice to practice on Mars first and make our mistakes there, but those aren't the cards we've dealt one another.
We've already mastered warming the planet, we can fight off slipping into an ice age easily enough, we just need a reliable planetary cooling method we can make use of whenever the temperature starts to climb...... :)
