Bailing has to be my favourite part of farming. Just something really satisfying about making all those straight rows and then rolling em up. Great close up footage. Thank you
Love the drone shot of wrapping the bales. Found your channel and have been watching them while I’m working from home during the pandemic. I’m a city girl from the U.S. and really enjoy the glimpse into your farm life. I’ve realized farm is a lot of work. Definitely no such thing as a lazy farmer.
Enjoyed watching this, but I do miss the days when I’d help the neighbours with haying. Riding the wagons and having the bale chucked pitching onto the trailer, then going up into the hay mow in the barn and stacking bales for days. Swelling hot, and ichy as all get out. Those were the days(almost 40 years ago now).
Tom, love the vids having a bit of a binge watch hence the comment on an oldie. But what is with the first music track about S&M ! would love to know the farming connection 🤣 🤣 🤣
Now I'm normally a moaning old so and so but I'm enjoying the music lol. You've cracked this drone filming awesome video. regards to you all keep the videos coming
Awesome video again. Love watching abit of bailing. Looks like you should get a fair amount of box muck on them fields now tom. Keep up the great content. 👍
As I'm not a farmer. But my late grandad was. A dairy farmer in Norfolk. Sorry I'm late to this video. As I'm a new viewer .and I've started from yr very first video you posted. And just watching this in previous video of yrs you say about birds putting holes in yr wrapped bales. This may sound stupid to yrselfs but Could it be the black plastic flapping on bales .attracting birds flying over thinking another bird is feeding. Great content loving the clips Tom and ginger ninja keep it up Tom
I know that's really old video, but maybe you will see this comment: is there any advantage of using black wrapping of bales? Here in Poland we use mainly white wrapping, because it avoids overheating of the silage (reflecting sunlight, etc.). Or by your practice you can say it doesn't make any difference? Thanks in advance ;)
Hi Tom, Like other comments I love you videos! Makes me miss my days on the farm and I sometimes wish I hadn’t taken the corporate route but stayed on the family farm. Keep up the great work, then at least I can lose myself in what could of been! One question, why do you keep your dog in the pen? Can’t he just roam around and do his thing. Also, give your old man a pat on the back, a legend of the land!
Xavier RS Hhahah thank you very much, I appreciate the comment. I can see why people do it. It’s not all sunshine and tractors. I have him outside because he is really really bad with new people (he is very protective of me now). I have had him for about 2 years and when he came he has never seen grass before or been out of a bed room. He was massively overweight, no hair on his back and flees on this bits of hair he did have. He comes in the house for a few hours at night and we take him on walks every lunch time. Hope that kind of explains it
Tom Pemberton Farm Life Thanks for the reply, rest assured I know the toils of farming! Like out in the dark cold and sometimes rain helping a cow calfing. I give you kudos for the video of you cleaning the paddle in the slurry pit, we don’t do that so much in Australia, thank goodness! I watch that quite often and try to think what I’d rather do? Deal with whining & complaining customers or stand knee deep in crap? I’ll get back to you on that😉 Keep up the good work anyway!
Tom that was some good drone and video shots and your dad is always right lol no he cool have seen my dad and papaw smell hay before before. I believe they can tell the moisture in the hay how wet it will be when baled.
Great video Tom, glad it's dry this year, hope the cows enjoy it, can't stop your dad talking lol. Do you follow it's a farming life for me as he has been doing some great videos lately too like yourself
we were the first to make big bales in our area in the 1970s, there was no wrapers at that time we used to put a big bags over the bales by hand. and btw iff you get a big hole in one of youre bales, stuff a cake bag in the hole and patches around it to seal it, saves you a couble of patches😂
Tom Pemberton Farm Life yhea it will, we make haylage now because we figured, doing silage with big bales is a hole different game than doing it in the pit because water cant actually escape from the bales , it can escape from the pit it comes out as seek . plus the cows does much better on haylage in the winter, they shit bale silage straight out with all the nutrients , you dont get that with haylage
another great Vid. Nice to see Dad on the show, Just wondering , Why do you use black wrap. Here in Canada i see all white wrap, Makes them all look like marshmallows LOL
Tom on an earlier video your dad said you have 200 acres. It seems more than that. What is the total amount of acres for cattle and hay? Thanks Scott Alberta Canada.
Now I’m no expert but I have reclaimed bog land and I get 8 bales to the acre with only minimal fertiliser, 50kg to the acre ( if that is a little ), Is this high or not?
Love the videos, does your Dad play golf on the Course ⛳️next door to the Silage baling Field shown at 13:50 ish? Plus have you played golf with him Tom?
Surprised he hasnt built a little golf ⛳️ Hole on some of your land haha. I would! I like a nice bit of #farmgolf like from my channel. I have made a few courses on FS17 see my channel...
I´m not a farmer and I know not much about farming. So maybe my question is a bit stupid. Grass in a clamp becomes silage. Bails are silage too I guess. So why making bails. Whats the advantage of wrapping plastic around the crop.
Bailing has to be my favourite part of farming. Just something really satisfying about making all those straight rows and then rolling em up. Great close up footage. Thank you
Love it when I learn something new! Never saw a wrapping machine before! My Dad would have loved it!!
Tom can I just say, the ginger warrior does a nice job of stacking the bales 👍

Tom, love the vids having a bit of a binge watch hence the comment on an oldie. But what is with the first music track about S&M ! would love to know the farming connection 🤣 🤣 🤣
I was wondering that, too, lol!
5:50 his dad is in the background with his face in the grass

Hi Tom. As a wannabe farmer I'm curious. What is better, bunker silage v wrapped bales? Which do you prefer?
Braw video tom. Love the new hawland tacktor. Bales are looking good to
I always thought if it's wrapped it's silage, witch is wet and ferments inside the wrapping ? Or so I thought ?

Tom that was some good drone and video shots and your dad is always right lol no he cool have seen my dad and papaw smell hay before before. I believe they can tell the moisture in the hay how wet it will be when baled.

You should have a Dad Chat every Sunday. He is a smart man we all can learn from him. You shouldnt make him stop chatting. Be nice now.

SaginawG
Great video Tom, glad it's dry this year, hope the cows enjoy it, can't stop your dad talking lol. Do you follow it's a farming life for me as he has been doing some great videos lately too like yourself
Layton Phillips I’ll have a look mate
What’s your opinion on the barrel wrap plastic? No netting, plastic used instead.
Tommy's hand I like the netting, it works well
Top videos Tom good to see a McHale baler
Pat McNamara Thanks Pat
Mc cormick going strong
Love the vids keep up the good work
Wessel Oudejans Thankyou very much 😀
Do you have trouble with the core of the bale coming apart?? Maybe not if you put them all through the feeder?
we were the first to make big bales in our area in the 1970s, there was no wrapers at that time we used to put a big bags over the bales by hand. and btw iff you get a big hole in one of youre bales, stuff a cake bag in the hole and patches around it to seal it, saves you a couble of patches😂
Moi Williams that sounds like a great idea... don’t no if we will be able to get one in though. There are pretty tight
Enjoyed 👌
It’s definitely different having contracted out baling and wrapping, here I don’t contract out any thing from spreading to chopping and filling silo
after you cut the grass you can spread it out let it dry for cupple days than put it back into rows to bale
great video tom
Brilliant video. I'm guessing 380 bales
another great Vid. Nice to see Dad on the show, Just wondering , Why do you use black wrap. Here in Canada i see all white wrap, Makes them all look like marshmallows LOL
Rand I don’t really know tbh mate, I think it’s cost. It’s either green or black around here
@@TomPembertonFarmLife we had a bit of pink a bit ago too mon!
Tom loved your vlog today 🚜🚜
Father and Son act never to be repeated, Question what are you going to use when they ban plastic?.Another good video always enjoy them.
John Powell since when are they banning plastic?
John Powell do you not like the Father and Son combo? I have no idea, didn’t know they were going to
Never to be repeated as no one else good enough
Tom on an earlier video your dad said you have 200 acres. It seems more than that. What is the total amount of acres for cattle and hay? Thanks Scott Alberta Canada.
Your style of farming is so different to the style here in New Zealand
Love that tune 🤪

The McHale baler makes nice bales!
James Maughan it did really well
Your daddy is so adorable
Now I’m no expert but I have reclaimed bog land and I get 8 bales to the acre with only minimal fertiliser, 50kg to the acre ( if that is a little ), Is this high or not?
Hi love all of your vids have nearly seen them all! What is your dad's handicap?

I´m not a farmer and I know not much about farming. So maybe my question is a bit stupid. Grass in a clamp becomes silage. Bails are silage too I guess. So why making bails. Whats the advantage of wrapping plastic around the crop.
Your dad is bloody good at stacking
will Moore doesn’t play games does he hahaha
The Case is a bit smokey eh! Great vid Tom
Cal M jut abit mate hahah
Don't you risk the chance of the bales molding or catching on fire wrapping them?
Can I ask what ur smallest field is care wise because ur fields r massive
