This guys played in Reading '83, and had the n°1 in uk. They are close friends of Bruce Dickinson, he translated his lyrics to english. And off course, they are spanish, except the drummer. Who is from Uruguay.

If you really like it you shoul listen "Volumen brutal", wich is his most important album. And you can listen it in English too, because in the 80s they record it in English and Spanish, in England, in Ian Gillan's studio.
When they were recording in england at ian gillans studio bruce dickinson used to check em out and he said they reminded him of rainbow, so your deep purple resemblance is totally valid.

Barón Rojo son el mejor grupo de la historia del heavy metal ESPAÑOL, porque son de ESPAÑA. Te recomiendo escuchar el LP " volumen brutal " pero la versión inglesa que sacaron

Al Rojo Vivo is the first live album of the band. This live album was produced by Chris Tsangarides. Chris learned good and bad things about Spain with this. He found out that there were no good sound tecnicians in Spain, but the people contracted were able to solve problems with what in Spain is called "Chapuza"(an ongoing solution to a problem; Chris pronounces this word, 30 years later, in Spainsh, while speaking in English in the 30th Aniversarty of the band Documentary).
