I agree but in the end, I guess I have myself to blame. And I've talked to him about this, but in a way I blame Doug a tiny bit. He kept telling me the research was that HRT didn't cause breast cancer and it was so beneficial to me. But no, I can't even blame him. I willingly changed that patch twice a week for a fresh one. But I wish I had stopped it sooner. Take care and thank you!

Melissa, I am so thankful for this video, I am going to get an appointment with my dermatologist as soon as I can because I am on Estradiol and just notice a couple of spots that have come up on the top of my leg that look like possible skin cancers. I may need to talk to them about a compound drug too. You are making a difference in lives by talking about this, thank you for doing that. God bless you 🙏🙏🙏🤩💛
Very informative and thanks. As someone diagnosed within the past 6 months, I found this video to be very helpful. I am lucky like you in that mine was caught early and I did not have to do chemo. You have given me much hope and a peace of mind...
Hi Melissa, So nice to hear an update. You look beautiful--the picture of health. You talked about things I didn't know about. I'm sure this video will help others going through this. Love, Karen
I haven’t caught up with you until now. I’m so sorry you had to go through this … I’m praying for you and can relate to the private parts becoming uncomfortable… I was told by my current dr that I am to only use the vaginal cream for discomfort “ down there” and it has been working … I am not on HRT and I experienced heavy hot flashes for over a year. They have just started to subside .. they are so annoying!! So glad your spirits are up and I just want to say you are more radiant than ever !! 💕💕💕💕. 🙏 prayers sent to you !! ❤ I’ll Ben watching more regularly now to keep up on your progress!!
You still look amazing after all that you are going thru and your positive attitude too ! My mom was on HRT from age 40 when she had a hysterectomy until somewhere in her 70's. She has dementia and lives a assisted living. I keep thinking that HRT didn't help her with dementia.😕 All the best to you !!!!
I am so very sorry about your mother. I know it must be so difficult for you to deal with, too. We women seem to have so many decisions with our health and it's difficult. Take care of yourself. 🧡🧡🧡
Perfect timing as I am watching this before I’m about to leave for my oncology appointment to discuss further about Tamoxifen! I had lumpectomy in May and radiation ended in August, Tamoxifen was prescribed but I have been hesitant for several reasons…much because of the side effects I have read about in my breast cancer support groups and because I have a very compromised liver from hemochromatosis not followed correctly that lead to cirrhosis…we are doing tests to stage it better before I agree to take the Tamoxifen..as I’m sure you are aware, these hormone blockers are very hard on the liver. I’m 63 and never was on HRTs. I thank you for your honesty about your breast cancer journey and especially today about the Tamoxifen…God bless you❤️😮
Thank you for sharing your journey, including the private details. I didn’t realize there was a cream 🎀 for that area that helped and didn’t have any hormones. You’re lucky you haven’t gained weight. That is a common side effect with Tamoxifen.
Melissa, I appreciate that you shared your experience. I am currently experiencing hot flashes since I am within the first few months of not having a period. I have been taking Veozah because like you, I have been told I can’t take hrt. The manufacturer provides a discount on their website. The first month was $0 and the refill was $30. I notice it working though not at 100%. And it seems to wear off after maybe 15 hours or so. But, it’s just been a month. In addition, my gynecologist recommended a supplement, Thermella, which I ordered. The plan is to take both. Maybe eliminate the Veozah at some point. Liver testing is required while taking Veozah and if the supplement works almost as well, I’d rather not take the medication. I appreciate hearing your perspective. I don’t know anyone else who has had a similar enough experience to my own that I have been able to ask about hrt or menopause symptoms.
That was courageous of you to talk about the intimate problem.Have you heard about the Mona Lisa touch CO2 laser procedure ? You are stunning by the way .
God bless you for doing these videos. I’m sure you’re helping a lot of women. I had a hysterectomy at 40. My gynecologist put me on HRT. I think I did it for a year. I was too scared to stay on it. My mother had breast cancer & I know everything she went through. I read that hormone replacement can feed tumors. The doctor wasn’t happy but she understood. That vasculitis looks pretty nasty. Glad you found another medication. Even though you can curse like a sailor it’s still hard to talk about privates. Tammy is about the only woman who tells it like it is. I’m just thrilled you’re doing well. I will just keep you on my prayer list. Prayers do work. There’s a good show on BritBox called Sherwood. The second season has just dropped. It’s a really good show with a mystery. Love you, Lucy
We had some of the same journey, Lucy. I was in my 40's too when I had my hysterectomy and that's when I started on the HRT. I used the patch, as I kind of felt it might be less harmful if it was on my skin rather than taking a pill. And I don't know if it contributed to the cancer. There is no way to know. Oh I love Sherwood!!!! Going to check it out, as well as Murders in Building!!! Thank you Lucy and love being sent to you.
Those red spots did not look bad but, yes, definitely stay off those meds. God bless you! Sounds like you are going through the menopause type symptoms I went through when I was in my 50's- the waking up, the hot flashes, etc. But most of them go away. I'm 68 and sleep fine, actually fall asleep sitting on the couch at 9:30 after a busy day :)
This is probably one of the best videos I’ve regarding experience with health challenges! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and during my mastectomy (only one side and no reconstruction) the surgeon found I also have Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (cancer of the immune system). I greatly appreciate Melissa’s respect for her and all doctors. I’ve heard so many people say doctors just want to keep us sick and want our money. They fail to remember doctor’s family members and doctors themselves die of cancer! I appreciate that Melissa talks about the uncomfortable things to talk about and encourages being okay with talking to our doctors about those things. She is correct- they have seen it all and there is nothing to be embarrassed or shy about. Thank you Melissa!
Oh thank you so much for this comment. I am so grateful. I have really had good experiences through this and nothing but love and compassion from my medical providers. But you have been through so much. I cannot imagine the devastation of the lymphoma diagnosis, along with everything you had gone through. I hope you are doing better. Please take care and thank you.
@@Melissa55, I just saw my oncologist. In remission from breast cancer. The lymphoma is remaining stable, still stage 4, but it’s a slow growing cancer and it hasn’t worsened in the past 12 years. I am so grateful. My oncologist retired in March. My new oncologist is nice and encouraging. So very grateful.. You and I have been very blessed.
I love your necklaces! I found the M on Amazon but I love the other two as well. Can you please provide details or a link for them!!! Been watching you since the beginning…you are so inspiring!
Very wise words Melissa, regarding not listening to the "YT doctors" saying basically every women should be on HRT, and without the decency mentioning what you did, about being precautious if any family history of breastcancer or heart/stroke risks. Some people seem to swallow every advice these doctors tell..It could be dangerous and with damage of no return. You seem to have sailed through yr treatment, or it's just your personality, not complaining, and with a positive outlook on things. Either way, you look great and seems fine, and if one didn't know yr history, you wouldn't be able to tell you've gone through this. I think that is actually what's behind your youthfulness, more so than the HRT tbh.🌸
Very good advice about not listening to Dr's that don't know you👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I get hot flashes when I drink dark beer too often OR when I'm anxious. I am greatful I don't break out in a sweat😅
What a wonderful bridging video! You are such a blessings to all of us who watch Melissa! ...and we are so glad to have you in good health!!!!!...you deserve to have all you bless us with returned to you! ❤
Happy Friday, Melissa. I think you've done amazingly well, my friend. I'm sure many people have gained knowledge from this video. So happy the vasculitis didn't appear after starting your new medicine. Love you...MaryEllen
Melissa, I'm so sorry you had to go through what you did. I am 68 and have been on HRT for 10 years. For me, as of right now, it has been the best thing I have done for myself. I had 3 1st cousins (all sisters who had fatal breast cancer}. The first sister was only 48 before she lost her battle in 1990 and the other 2 were much older than I also. I don't mean to sound like doom and gloom, but I highly doubt that any of these ladies were on HRT. Actually, I have so many girl cousins and they were the only ones who has ever had breast cancer. It was traced back to their father's mother which was not my blood uncle. I think anyone can get breast cancer, but if I were to receive the same diagnosis of having estrogen-based breast cancer I would also go off of it. The one I have to keep a close eye on is colon cancer. My mother passed at 67 from that one and I have colonoscopies every 5 years and they usually always find the type of pulps that turn to cancer if not cut out. Your video may have helped many people.
I wonder if they had the gene for breast cancer. I was tested and it was negative, but with them all having that and being siblings it kind of sounds like it, doesn't it? I really think I got a lot of benefits from HRT and I don't regret going on it. And who knows? I might have gotten it anyway. Yes, please get your colonoscopies!!! It is so important to be vigilant on this. Take care, Kathy and thank you!
Melissa your posts are not coming up automatically this is the first one I have had for a long time and Hot and Flashy is having the same issue I believe. I have had to search for your posts. You look amazing, a long journey and thank you for sharing.
Hi Melissa I am glad you're doing well. Vasculitis is very painful so I am glad that has stopped. We all react differently to medication and sometimes something just isn't right for us, but it's trial and error unfortunately. HRT is a complicated subject and a very personal decision in conjunction with your Dr. I am to be on HRT for life, but that's due to thirty plus years of endometriosis and no family history of breast cancer. The endometriosis puts me at high risk of gynae cancers and I need stable hormones to offset that ( a mirena coil and estrogen patch for me). That's just my personal journey however. My dad had Alzheimer's which was also a factor in my decision, but it was my decision based on my medical history and genetic risk factors. It won't be right for everyone. All medication carries a risk of side effects - it's about whether the benefits outweigh the risks and it's different for each person. A cool mat to put in your pillow can be a lifesaver at night. It's often heat that wakes us. I had a natural menopause with no HRT to allow the endometriosis to go fully dormant. I had medicine for flushes which helped but certainly didn't entirely stop them and night sweats. I also had cold flashes - my internal thermostat was completely fried. Best wishes x
Hey Melissa, I was having huge sleep issues, a gf told me to take D3 K2 supplement it took a cpl wks but I have started having better sleep. I love watching your videos you make it feel real, and I enjoy that. Hope your having a nice day!
I hadn't heard of that. I do take D3. My problem is that I also have pretty bad Crohn's disease. I have had parts of my intestines removed several times so now the intestines I have left try to sort of grab on to supplements and like super absorb them. I'm not making sense. But a lot of vitamins and supplements make me really sick, so that is a problem. I know there are certain things I might need for cancer and like sleep and hair loss but I can't take any of them. I even get sick taking calcium. It's a bit ole mess.
Thank you so much for doing this. I have been on HRT for many many years. This has made me stop and think long and hard. I will be talking to my doctor. You look great and I’m so sorry you have gone through so much. Hopefully things will go great from now on. Have a great rest of the week.
Thanks for generously sharing your journey. Re hot flashes, I bought a neck fan from Amazon that works fantastically. It hangs around your neck (doesn’t look too bad - kind of like headphones resting around your neck and blows cool air upwards. It’s USB charged. Excellent when working up a sweat around the house. I mainly wear mine when I’m working around the house and garden and also when working my beehives in a hot bee suit on a summer day and it really helps.
Is it possible for you to share the main ingredient/s of the cream from the compounding pharmacy? No estrogen in it? Whatever it is, it's great you found something to help with "all that"!
Thanks for sharing your cancer experience, I have heaps of admiration for you, for your candor, and just your attitude in general, always with a great smile. You made me laugh as well, about talking about private matters, I’m definitely the same way. Have a wonderful rest of your day. God bless.🙏🏻🍁🌺
For the hair thinning, use your Omnilux LED. When you've finished your face, just move it up to cover your hairline, and temples for 10 minutes. It works 😊☘️
Im happy ur doing well. My experience is not to use hrt but use alternatives. I now am getting great, safe results with wild yam, chaste berry( vitex), maca and sometimes dhea. My dryness is gone and i feel great. Many of us do not like the medical/ big pharma route. Ashwaganda and other nootropic mushrooms are wonderful for mental health, cognition.
I don’t think you can be on HRT too long. But, I understand what you’re saying about your predisposition. HRT is supposed to help for the rest of women’s lives. We need all it has to offer to keep our bodies at their best, unless there are certain circumstances like yours. So glad you had it as long as you did and that your cancer was caught early. You look wonderful and strong. I know it’s been hard, but you’re a winner!!! ❤
My oncologist said I can use the lowest dose possible so my primary prescribed 10 microgram vaginal tablet, one tablet inserted daily for two weeks then 1 tablet vaginally twice a week. She prescribed 30 vaginal tablets. I'm scared of them but I've got to have some relief from atrophic vaginitis that is causing constant UTIs.If I don't see a great deal of relief then I'm not taking anymore. I am on Anastrazole since July 2022. I will take the natural route. I am 80 so I've been postmenopausal for 35 years. I did not do HRT.
You are such a strong, beautiful woman. Love you!

I’m so glad you’re doing well but honestly, you amaze me everything that you have gone through and go through and you’re just always so cheerful and smiling. I know my health issues make me a grumpy old lady at times. I would love to donate fat from my thighs and hips if they could take it lol. Love you Christmas decorations.❤
I ALWAYS want you to keep us posted and updated…if you’re willing. We love you and worry about you! Thank you for being so open💓
Darn it, there go my eyes leaking again!!! Thank you so very much for this!
@ awww! Seriously…you don’t know how wonderful and special you are! It makes ME CRY whenever you think poorly of yourself or worry. You are the BEST! And have been through so much! I’ve had a lot of health issues and I know how it is. Adore you!
God bless you 🙏🙏🙏🤩💛
Women have to go through so much...
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
You said a mouth full there let e tell you!!! Men have no idea! lol.
❤❤❤❤❤ you are INSPIRING!! I send you prayers of healing and protection. You look Fantastic Doll. Stay blessed
Thank you Melissa for being so transparent and open about your journey! You have encouraged me to care more about clothes; hair and makeup!
You are an inspiration to us all and you look half your age and so beautiful.💖💘💝💕
You are such a positive and classy lady along with being a light! I love you!
Very informative and thanks. As someone diagnosed within the past 6 months, I found this video to be very helpful. I am lucky like you in that mine was caught early and I did not have to do chemo. You have given me much hope and a peace of mind...
You are a ray of sunshine! You are so positive after all that you have been through and continue to go through. Thank you for sharing♥️
@@Melissa55 Yes for sure . Thank you !
I'm 39 & I love your videos. This was very informative. Thank you 🙂
You’re so sweet !!.. I’m so sorry you had to go through this!!! ❤️👼🪽😇🙏
You’re looking fabulous Melissa! 💞
Oh thank you, Priscilla!!! I appreciate it.
Such a love you are.!!!
We are sending love and prayers.
Godspeed your journey

I thank you for your honesty about your breast cancer journey and especially today about the Tamoxifen…God bless you❤️😮
please research tamoxifen and increased risk of uterine cancer.....
Thank you for sharing your journey, including the private details. I didn’t realize there was a cream 🎀 for that area that helped and didn’t have any hormones. You’re lucky you haven’t gained weight. That is a common side effect with Tamoxifen.
Thanks for sharing your journey and updates with everyone. Glad you are doing well.💖
You're my other Kim!!!! And I love you dearly! Thank you!
Stay healthy Melissa , may God keep you strong and healthy. 🙏🏼
Thanks you Christine and I wish the same for you!
That was courageous of you to talk about the intimate problem.Have you heard about the Mona Lisa touch CO2 laser procedure ? You are stunning by the way .
I spent over $1,800.00 on three treatments and it didn't help at at all. I was really disappointed.
I haven’t watched you in years! You are aging in reverse!! 😮You are so strong and beautiful ❤
Just want you to know how helpful you are to others. Love your channel.
That is so very kind of you! Thank you!
I only experienced a couple hot flashes where sweat was literally dripping off my chin and I RAN to get HRT. I feel for you Melissa!!
I’ve been keeping you in my prayers. Thank you for your update. My mom is 6 years post breast cancer and she is doing well.
You are just adorable……thx for sharing……..so pretty!
Tamoxifen hot flashes are something else! Mine did get better over time on the drug.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Blessings for continued good health, Joy
I love your necklaces! I found the M on Amazon but I love the other two as well. Can you please provide details or a link for them!!!
Been watching you since the beginning…you are so inspiring!
I think you're a brave and caring women to have this talk. If it helps someone that's great. Take care of yourself.
I can myself all the time even though it’s been 20 yrs post menopause 😮😢
Prayers coming yr way sweetie ❤
I sure do thank you!!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Put some smooth river rocks in your freezer. Good to put on neck or tummy for hot flashes. Feels good.
Both of these ladies need a Patreon page!
I've had no issues with seeing their posts. When you log onto youtube are you clicking on your subscriptions page or your home page?
@@MISSYMINX261 It should come up in your notifications..Hot and Flashy stated she thinks its because she has reduced the amount of posts she is doing.
@Melissa55 aww sorry to hear that, yes I remember you talking of your different health issues. Lots of hugs
So glad it’s a year later my friend. Love you.
Is it possible for you to share the main ingredient/s of the cream from the compounding pharmacy? No estrogen in it? Whatever it is, it's great you found something to help with "all that"!
Thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom with us. You are helping so many people. You are a beautiful person, inside and out.
I love your sincerity Melissa and common sense So happy you are doing well!
I just love you! You are a true inspiration to so many ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing your cancer experience, I have heaps of admiration for you, for your candor, and just your attitude in general, always with a great smile. You made me laugh as well, about talking about private matters, I’m definitely the same way. Have a wonderful rest of your day. God bless.🙏🏻🍁🌺
What an amazing informative video 🙌 thank you Melissa . 🙏🏻💕
For the hair thinning, use your Omnilux LED. When you've finished your face, just move it up to cover your hairline, and temples for 10 minutes. It works 😊☘️
You really are a dear person.
Thanks for sharing your story, you are amazing and so loved. ❤
Glad you are doing well.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. A fantastic video.
Good info. 5 years out from diagnosis, mastectomy, implant, anastrozole. Glad to be done with the APill
Glad to hear how things are progressing! You’re looking beautiful as always….❤
That is so sweet, Margaret! Thank you!
