He was very popular during most of his career. Many of his most famous songs were recorded in the 50s and 60s. For example, "my way" was recorded in 1969. That's not very far from 40 years ago.

The only reason why music back then was not more explicit, the way that it is now, is because of the societal mentality that people had. You could even show a married couple sleeping in the same fucking bed in media for God's sake.

jason turgeon you’re an idiot. All she did was make a comment about the values of Italian families which is a very true statement. I’m Italian and family is everything and I haven’t met an Italian family that didn’t believe the same. The grandmother is always the matriarch and the staple of the family. My grandma is my favorite person in the world. Doesn’t mean that no other families other than Italians don’t put family first but it doesn’t matter where you are from or how you were raised, all Italians share that same value.

Sal is the definition of showmanship, wow what Ana amazing voice amazing song and amazing performance , you don't get stuff like this anymore in the 21st century or will you ever get genuine stuff like these past it. this was more than a million dollar act - he deserves a record label deal. someone can make good business in the music industry with him. if buy all of his albums if he sticks to the way he sang this song . same style same tunes and same genre, like frank sinatra .

I would buy or download his CD today if I found the opportunity. Sal's voice is the type that can cheer you up after a hard day's work, or one that can sooth in the evenings when one is alone and wanting company. He's got one hell of a voice, and his ability to project emotion through what he sings is what can carry him through his performances. It's amazing...on some of his vocals, if I closed my eyes, I would think I was listening to Sinatra.

I think we can attribute the choice of winner to a whole lot of media-savvy 'tweens who had bloody thumbs after the finals; but who knows? I agree that Sal is quintessential Vegas, and, whether he was seeking it or not - referencing one of Simon's comments - he did get a LOT of television exposure, and I hope his dreams come true!
For sure Sal should've won. He was the best by far. I would atribute second place to Brian Justin Crum, I don't listen to the style of music he sings, but man that guy is very good at it.
I totally agree, but he got tremendous exposure from this show...I hope that he goes straight to the top...what a wonderful talent and an even more wonderful personality.

Well I watched the audition again after 5 years ago (I spend much of my life watching these) & I watched it again & My Way & this one twice tonight. I never realised Sal got so far. Absolutely love this kid. I wasn't necessarily a Sinatra fan but you can't knock his singing. I loved Deano & wanted to be Deano's next generation. He could act, sing, joke, dance & I loved the DM Show. Well done Sal, you are a star.

Smooth, classy, a bit of old world, he's refreshing, and just plain good.
Years later I still think about this young man. He did such an amazing job; he was born to do this. He really does have it all: the voice, the looks, the stage presence and charisma and the support of his family, friends and fans. I hope we see him again some day 💕

THIS is what AGT is really about. Not some guy who has worked in the entertainment industry for two decades and never made it. This show should be about the pizza delivery guy who has perhaps has taken voice lessons, sang at family gatherings and at church. Maybe even a few talent contests. He did not win but he deserves a career in the music biz and it was a pleasure hearing him.

I try to close my eyes when I listen to him and see if I can tell the difference. It's tough. And the best part is, he's not even trying to do the impersonation...he really does have that Sinatra-like quality to his inflections, his vocals, how he carries himself musically.

Holy Wow! I just discovered this guy today in 2022. Can't get enough! I am 58 years old and have never been a fan of the crooner style, until Sal. I love all the singing shows and there has been non better that this kid Sal. Talent is talent and his voice is butter. That is what it takes to unite generations of music fans. He has done it and I am a huge fan of Sal and his amazing family. The boy was raised right. Congrats on all his success. I can't believe I missed this in 2016.

I think he is by far my favourite act on any of these types of shows. He has great personality and spark, and I love crooners and he does it well.
