Mark is such an awesome player, i mean: every note is in the right place, it’s just perfection. If you want to learn funky groovy guitar moves, juts learn what he plays in this video
I thought the same thing for a second. I just replayed it and listened to the name of the pedal when Mark introduces each one. I then took the name and tagged tc electronics next to it and was able to find them especially since you can get an idea from the video what they look like.
Not even Dr Groove...the God of groove, totally amazing 😉 That chorus sound is so Jan Akermann ‘70’s with Focus through a well overdriven Leslie. Every live and recording gig needs Mark there with you. Awesome thanks 😜 Thanks to tc electronics too...THE gear to perform 😎
This video was all kinds of fun from "make your booty move" to the seagull in the background that caught me off guard lol. Thanks for the review, im new to electric guitar and the world of effects pedals!
Awesome playing! How about showing the pedals? Maybe show some of the settings. How about listing the pedals by name and linking to a product page? Someday I hope to purchase a TCE product. You guys aren't helping me with that. Just sayin'.
"hmmm how about this" thinks for 2 seconds "yea this is gonna be cool I think" and then he goes killing it Damm Mark give us a break here! A beast of a musician
I started electric guitar just now after playing accoustic and i m teying to understand how it all works. Please help! When you buy an amp (entry level small for appartment) usually it comes with a few basic effects. Am i correct to say that you need to add pedals to achieve different sounds ? Most amp i see is for rock, metal, hardcore sounds which i m not enjoying at all. However I love those rnb soul funky jazz type of sounds ! But i can t seem to find amp that have built in effect like this. So should i buy pedals to add to my amp ?
Pedals are definitely a great option, especially in the long run. But you can pick up a lot of amps now that do great clean and great effects. Something like the Fender Champion 40 or similar modelling amps would be an excellent option. However, the vast majority of these still won’t come with compressors, octaves or filters/wahs, so the pedal route would definitely help if that’s what you’re going for!
@@tcelectronic hey can you make a pinned comment and detail what pedals are used in this video. Most of the consumers of this video seem to want to know 🤑
I love Mark so much but sometimes I wish he'd just plug straight into the amp and bless us with some thick stanky tube sound, at some point all these pedals become a distraction. But hey, that's just my opinion, whatever floats your boat.
@@mjlettieri Yeah, I just realized my comment didn't really make much sense, of course this video is about the pedals and no doubt you get amazing sounds out of them. Just wanted to express that you're a monster player and that I enjoy old-school-straight-into-the-amp funk guitar. Keep strumming and much love from Germany. 🙂
Be careful about the Juno pedal ... it sounds clearly NOT like the original Juno chorus. Make a little search on youtube, you will hear the difference !
Anyone else feel like Mark just wrote half an album in 12 minutes or less? Very inspiring creativity!
Holy shit. I need more practice.
that's how minimal that funk-a-chunk is....
Pedals in order:
1 Some Vox mini wah
2 tc hypergravity
3 tc sub n up

@TC Electronic, you're killing it with these interviews! Mark is my favorite guitar player, and he's so great at demonstrating your pedals.
Every video with Mike just makes me smile, such a cool dude and amazing guitarist.
I'm a simple guy. I see Mark Lettieri, I smash the like button.
This is the most helpful “funk guitar pedal” video I’ve ever found, by a large margin. For real thanks
Best pedal demo ever - what a blast
Just played a gig (R&B, Funk, Blues) w/ the Mimiq. Man........it accentuates those little clicks and gives you some great harmonic overtones!
I was just introduced to the Fearless Flyers last month. Never heard of Mark, Cory Wong or Joe Dart before that. Amazingly good musicians.
Keep up!
Oh man, that means you dont know how great Snarky Puppy are? I envy you being able to hear them for the first time.
You should listen to Vulfpeck too!
And Nate Smith too! The man that keeps it all together.
The man with the endless riffs.
Amazing to watch Mark construct that loop.
Very educational AND inspiring!! Thanks Mark! Gonna go build a funk board!!
Mark, can't believe that you are a bad dancer. You've got so much groove !

The music is strong in this one...
"I'm here with Martha Cherry" youtube captions are amazing
Great content. Couldn't be filmed in a more oppressive location though. Bleak

What is the name of the compressor used in the video?
Not sure if you’re still interested, but looks like it’s the TC Electronic Hypergravity
