    NIce that Roland has FINALLY released this...I was 15 yrs old when I saw my first Juno 106....it was in a NJ mall and it inspired me to get a few paper routes and dog walking jobs but I never actually got the synth....now yrs later....yeah I'm putting it in the budget!!! :)

      this thing has nothing to do with the juno 106/6/60 - absolut nothing. all sounds are emulations from the roland cloud for an 2000$ case modded controller. Roland is screwing you all and everyone is still applauding, respect. roland has become a software seller with zencore. Vintage casemodding and 20 zencore copies the next few years and the fanboys do not notice it.

    Let's see if I understand this. This is a pc disguised as a synth because it has piano keys. But the sounds are the exact same you can get from the Roland cloud.
    So, instead of the original 12-bit sound you still get emulated sounds which are identical to the ones you'd use in your DAW.
    I'm sure the Juno-X, despite its drawbacks, is still great fun on stage. But I can't see any use for it at home or in a studio.

    • @sauermusicDE
      @sauermusicDE 2 года назад

      @@Acrimonious_Snake ZenCore/ABM doesn't emulate the detailed interaction of all the circuits when turning a certain knob. That's why it demands less processing power and leaves more space for stuff like - for example - higher polyphony. That's why a TR-08 or a TR-8 is always better for TR-808 sounds than the 808 kit inside an MC-707.

    • @Acrimonious_Snake
      @Acrimonious_Snake 2 года назад +5

      @@sauermusicDE I had enough time to compare ACB and ABM synth engines in-depth. No difference at all. Both sound extremely well. And you are messing the synthesis and sampling. ZenCore emulations of synths is not the same as making a PCM sample drum kit with it. ZenCore currently doesn't emulate the behaviour of drum modules (while it could, btw), it is just using its generic PCM sampling features. But it does emulate the behaviour of synths such as SH-101 or Juno - and makes it perfectly. ZenCore is a step forward, not backwards. The fact that there are two different alghorhythms to calculate the same process doesn't automatically mean that one approach is inferior to the other.

    Firmware Update for Jupiter Xm v3.0 has the new Jupiter-X Model Expansion which has the same "SuperSaw" Oscillator.
    No way this is the SuperSaw from the JP-8000 like it suggests in this video.
    It is not algorithmic but sample based which you can clearly hear when
    short notes are getting retriggered fastly after each other (No fuzz, no movement, but exactly same static sound).
    I am sill waiting for a proper Model Expansion with the algorithmic SuperSaw from the JP8000.
    Common Roland you can do it, its all digital.

    • @MakeMagic
      @MakeMagic 2 года назад

      That supersaw has been hiding in the Jupiter X for over 2 years but hardly anyone digged into zencore to find it - so objection and feedback to roland about it was low.
      At least now they've put it front and centre in the JPX engine... more people will now be outraged by how bad it sounds and complain.
      Or....maybe it's a 4d chess situation ... They're keeping it bad so they can release a full JP8000 paid expansion module with a proper one.

      You are making a BIG mistake because the music of the 60 70 and 80's IS the modern music..STOP!!! The attempt to "evolve" have ALL failed with music that is NO music at all like (c)rap (s)hit hop du(m)bstep etc...basically RANDOM NOISE! The ONLY way to Evolve is to look a t the past since is in the past where masterpieces were created , the best nowadays bands are ALL inspired from the belle epoque of the 60's 70's and 80's ..bands like Parcels....Khruangbin...Cannons...Rayowa...Bruno Mars....Greta Van fleet...Tame Impala and many others are almost as good as the great bands of the past because they make REAL Music , the problem is not the old stupid pathetic ridicolous "old vs new" but QUALITY vs QUANTITY and in order to thrive in the long term only quality can be used.

    I love the look of it. It adds some useful extras but it's way overpriced. $2000 is a joke. The 106 is not a difficult synth for any VA to emulate. You can get a Prologue16 for $1600 which has 16 x VCO, VCF, filter drive, better FX, pro keys and probably a better sequencer. JunoX is a toy compared to that. Deepmind12 is also a far superior Juno at only $900. $1000 or so and it's worth considering. Much over that and it's relying only on nostalgia loosening wallets.

    Too much bickering about analog vs digital. In a mix or on a stage NO ONE will be able to tell the difference. And if they can, it'll be so subtle that it wouldn't make a difference. Embrace the technology or buy an old heavy synth for double the price and worry about getting it fixed or buy a new one that sounds anywhere from 90-100 percent the same and has firmware updating, a butt load of sounds/work flow options and more than one way to save your music in case something happens to the keyboard (which will also be cheaper to fix if something did happen). Jeez

    • @dankeplace
      @dankeplace 2 года назад +5

      What people tend to forget is how heavy analogs are and how quickly they can de tune due to ambient temps.
      I'd hate to be that guy who suddenly was on stage and my 80s synth suddenly developed issues due to lights or w/e and temps suddenly went up.
      Analogs are cool, but digitals are more versatile in much broader environments.
      1 isn't always better than another, it just serves a better purpose imo.
