  • Malaysia's "Orangutan Diplomacy": Latest Plan to Sell Palm Oil? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Malaysia plans to start using "Orangutan Diplomacy". Johari Abdul Ghani, Malaysia's Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, announced that the country will begin gifting the endangered Orangutans to its biggest palm oil customers. The minister made sure to name China, India and the European Union. He says this will showcase Malaysia's commitment to wildlife conservation. Malaysia has been fighting against new deforestation regulations from the EU. The EU plans to stop importing products grown in newly deforested areas by this December. Malaysia feels this will harm its palm oil industry, so it has raised complaints against the EU at the World Trade Organization. "Orangutan Diplomacy" seems to be Malaysia's Plan B to secure its Palm oil exports.

Malaysian palm oil are certified sustainable palm oil. In fact, most of the palm oil plantations existed even before independence, planted by the British. We are now adding value to it.
Despite this, Malaysia still retains 55% of its virgin tropical jungle.
It is a fact that per sq ft, palm oil produced more oil than other vegetable/plant oil, thus more value.
Also palm oil have high nutritional values, can be used in high heat, reused and recycled.
Without palm oil, good luck frying things using olive oil and increase your chance to get cancer.

Europeans exploited Malaysian and Indonesian land for palm oil but NOT to the extent that it destroyed entire habitats; that is down to the natives, who, by the way, were at a stone age level of culture before they were exploited. This is a FACT that modern empire-bashers conveniently forget.

What is the health dangers of palm oil in food?
If it is dangerous why no countries has banned it?
Why many countries especially in North America and Europe ban trans fat?
Many food industries in those countries are now using palm oil to replace or dilute other oils such as soy, rapeseed, cotton, corn etc, to meet the parameter of the health regulations.

Palm oil is the most unhealthy oil. Boycott it. Use mustard oil or ghee only.

India should participate.. Take in some Orangutans and gift them our tigers. Lets unite Asia. Malaysia should not send the Orangutans to the Europeans as they are zre not suited there. It is better to do it among BRICS+ nations.
