@Hendo56 I figured it's different depending on the location and/or railroad. The reason it's 4 feet here on the BNSF Thayer Subdivision is that there are areas where we dropoff crews that are barely wide enough to get a van in there, and we have no choice but to get very close to the tracks, which can make things a little nerve-wracking at times!

OH geez. I catch trains in Bradford Pennsylavania home to the Buffalo and Pittsburgh railroad, we get lots of idiots. One time two girls were going across the tracks and the gates were going down, they tried to go across the gates but they were almost all the way down, I noticed them and shouted "Stop! The gates! Whats the matter with you!??" And they were pissed at me, then turned around and walks the other way.
I watched a video of a driver running in front of an NS train on 19th street in Erie, PA then some looney tune walking down the street jumped on to and climbed over the very same train !
Some nasty female once harassed my Grandfather and I while watching trains in Western New York State in 2002 ! I love Pennsylvania and the B&P too I also miss the SD-45’s !

Anyway those older locomotives are classy and I really enjoy watching them. Also: Thanks for your military service, you're in roughly 7% of US Citizens..
My wife and I watch Dan Sheekoz on RUclips, it's a Russian husband, wife, and toddler daughter, not train related. Yet we've never seen anyone cause a problem like the Karen did on your show. I was a Union Rep for years, the Karen is a tough guy, big talk, but little essence. I've seen people sound tough, then fall apart when challenged by the company. Honestly, we were told to remain 6' or more from active railroad tracks, we even had a walkway on a railroad bridge, and were permitted on the bridge when in use, I couldn't believe how much the end of the cars jutted out (there was a curve on the bridge), but there was a line, I doubt it was 6' from the rail, and we'd have to stay behind it. To do maintenance jobs within a certain proximity to tracks (in-plant, with rail traffic moving slowly), De-Railers were used, with a sign that indicated it was in place. But guys sometimes put them on backwards, then they'd be not much more than speed bumps. I remember telling a guy I knew that he just put it on backwards (it's supposed to result in the wheel coming off the tracks, but put on wrong, it lifts the wheel pushing towards the center of the tracks and the flange on the opposite wheels keeps it on the track). He got angry briefly, he had many more years in the mill than I, but he saw the truth in what I said and he flipped it around. The Karen spent too much time on the issue. If he had a legitimate concern, he should of just stated it without the barking.
Thank you for sharing, sorry you had to endure that foul ball, his copilot looked miserable and pretty fed up with him too. Having yard sales is no picnic either, I don't offer any deals to those kinds of people and typically the price goes up when ever I see them coming!
Some people just can’t mind their own business, that Karen just proved he is a true jackass. I’m fortunate that I haven’t had to deal with a Karen yet.

Haha the only word he knew was “scumbag” what a real genius! Good thumbnail indeed! I was coming home from work one night while the train was switching cars at a local elevator.. This young obviously drunk girl was one automobile ahead of me next to the track. She was honking her horn got out screaming and flipping them off. It was so funny it’s not like they were going to be any faster after that display. 🤣🤣🤣
What I love about the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad is that they have their own Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad heritage locomotives in the form of ex D&RGW SD40 tunnel motor locomotives and SD40s

Think he was pissed it was so slow and stopped. When trains do this its always for a good reason, think he is forgetting almost all the stuff that he buys comes by train and trucks and they are essential to us all. Definitely a Karen who doesn't think before he opens his mouth, guess he thinks they stopped just to block him or something.

Nice work, there. Sorry about your encounter with the train hater. He probably got pissed because he thought it was your fault, like you could split the train in half and he'd be on his merry way. If it went for the railroads he would have that vehicle. Hope his wife ignored him when he got home.
The W&LE runs right past my daughter/son-in-law's alpaca farm near Kent, Ohio. Did anybody get a video of the coach and business car on Saturday afternoon, October 29th? I wonder what that was all about?
Hello there I'm not sure what you mean by that although I have not seen anything like you described But anyway thank you very much for the comment take care now
@@miken8rbiradio220 I don't know much about the W&LE except to say the ROW forms the western boundary of their farm - beginning south of the gated crossing at Seasons Road, north of Kent. There seems to be a daily n/bound train during the night with s/bound return late mornings Monday-Friday. That Saturday afternoon I was surprised to hear the Seasons Road crossing gate and then see 106 pulling these two passenger cars - one being an open platform observation or business car. I have since called their Customer Service number to learn more. I was told the railroad owns these two cars - but not housed on the property. They are used to show customers and potential customers the property and potential business locations. However, the train I spotted back on October 29th was actually a day long excursion that was won by an employee at the company picnic - an event for family and friends. How kewl is that!!!

As you recall in the video though I did say please keep your your comments to yourself so he wanted to engage more so he got back what he gave me the thing is I stand my own ground he gets back what he gave to me If he would have got out of that truck though he would have gotten maced in the face He actually made the video better because my ratings is number one on this particular video It's just a fluke that it ended up being number one
your videos bring a smile to my face. Thanks for making my day a little brighter.
I'm glad I was able to help make your day better. Thank you very much for the sweet comment.
Nice job dealing with the situation.
Thank you very much but I think I probably could've gone a lot better than that but thank you for the comment
that intro go hard man, and ur channel is actually rly cool. glad i was ur 200th sub :D
A person who says nonthing may be thought a fool but one who opens their mouth removes all doubt
The wife probably had to pee real bad.
Some people are just full of darkness.
Yep, you’re great at life when you’re driving a no newer than a 98 Chevy Tahoe, I’ll bet that dude is a retired cardiac surgeon! No wonder he has great manners and a hot wife!!
Should have told that dude "Hey that car has your months supply of Viagra aboard so shut the hell up!"
Have these people lost their minds? Do they not know what choo choo trains do to deliver the goods they need for daily life?
Keep doing what you are doing brother.....nothing else matters!
Wow, people can be rude!!! Good for you!!!
Just to go show how stupid people are just can't keep their mouth shut
@@miken8rbiradio220 I agree 💯
Looks like Karen got his boxers in a twist! I couldn’t hear what he was yelling but he was triggered by that train…clearly his parents never bought him a train set and it shows!
This sounds like a good bet to me
Love that livery on the engines
They also left the unit hooked to those cars they only had two coming back light
Yes you're absolutely right I do remember that thank you for the comment
I remember I interviewed once last year with the WLE/WE for a Brakeman/Conductor position before I recently got picked up by CSX, for whom I complete the DOT screen Wednesday. I may still think of going back to them one day if I ever want to do a shorter haul in my later years.
Do you get paid? 😂😂😂
No. Some of us just mind our buisness and enjoy life.
It gets under the skin of miserable people
@10:16 OK that cracked me up.
Very well said where would we get our toilet paper our cat food groceries lumber you name it they have it all very well said once again thank you for the comment
Great video and you handled the Darren (male Karen) in the gas ⛽️ guzzler. I have delt with a guy like this before too. I just gave him the bird 🐦 and told him to go ef himself.
Yup good thing he didn't get out at truck he would have gotten mace and made his day even worse thank you for the comment
YES FINALLY, someone got it right!!!! I've also heard male Karens called "Darren" lots of times. Before I stopped drinking, I was often like that, so I encourage it.
...my name really is Darren, and I know not to take myself so damn seriously.
You should have told the guy….. he wanted to speak to his wife’s boyfriend, you know the man of the house. 😂. What a damn Looney tune…..
Love this title. Glad I didn't run into this bag of crap.
Thanks Scott It's a good thing he didn't get out of the truck he would have gotten maced
What the hell? That guy has issues.
Great railfan video - a couple of bucketmouths argue while the train goes unnoticed.
That's the shiniest paint I have ever seen on an engine, a very nice scheme.
Great job my friend,Wheeling & lake Erie goes through my back yard,Really good guys on the crews
Yes, They are great. And they like what I do.
Yes, They are sure great They
like what I do.
the attitude comes standard with the suburban
Yeah sure seems like it
Usually they're too cheap to pick up the option of using their signals
Funny!
Funny!😆

Hee hee hee.
Grandpa used to say don’t argue with someone holding a microphone. I guess that goes 10x for a camera AND microphone.
Nice work, there. Sorry about your encounter with the train hater. He probably got pissed because he thought it was your fault, like you could split the train in half and he'd be on his merry way. If it went for the railroads he would have that vehicle. Hope his wife ignored him when he got home.
Railhaters, the biggest Karens on the line.
It sure seems to be that way it's a good thing he didn't get that of that truck he would have gotten maced Thank you for the comment
Why couldn't the guy in the car just keep his big mouth shut? Poor lady, what an embarrassment.
I've Got a Feeling this knob had been hen pecked as he waited 8 minutes to lash out at you. Too bad he couldn't appreciate the train but looking at her expression this guy is no socialite. Always glad to see W&LE as it is unremarked but is a big Regional player Keep the camera rolling son too bad you got stuck with the county Jag. No walkaround $$!$ Big Truck. Small Anatomy
for that dude that harassed you: I hope that his employer sees this... terminates this dude for cause and misconduct... and gets denied unemployment. an embarrassment to his work place.
That guy Is probably wasn't employed anyway he was probably on welfare anyway so therefore I paid for this truck and food It's just a shame that Some people are stupid sometimes Anyway thank you very much for the comment you take care
So great to see so much older motive power on the rails. Those look like SD40's maybe? Childhood memories.
EMD SD 40 2 cool diesel loco. W&E still hits a dead end spur for some industry where Wheeling Steel had a plant in Benwood WV just across the B&O railroad bridge over the Ohio River to WV.
Nice video. Beautiful engines.
Yeah they do have nice coloring and they're the only railroad that keeps their locos nice and clean too look at CSX and Norfolk Southern always dirty nasty thank you for the comment
I think the dude in the 'burb thought he may be filming him without permission and that led to the anger. People hair trigger these days.
That could be a possibility but Supreme Court has ruled there's no expectation of privacy in public public photography is not a crime and people need to know the Constitution the 1st amendment free press thank you very much for the comment
He’s got a nice 90s suburban I’d buy it.
He's not on his way to a MENSA meeting; that's for certain.
He been hating on all railfans been a Larry about it
Good video except for the crazy Karen guy, stay safe out there 🛤
Always get the karen's license plate.
OH Midwestern people having a nice polite conversation with each other this is a fine example of
“ Midwestern Nice “ ? !
NOT !
OF COURSE !
some people man some people smh..awesome to see the little guys like the W&LE lines as the sort lines are pretty challanging to catch concidering the timeframes some early in the AM some at the middle of the night!.
Yep you hit the nail on the head there that's exactly the way it is out here in Collins Ohio thank you for the comment
Some people just have nothing else to do than pick a fight .
Can’t you just feel the love between those guys? Lmao
Sad we live in a country where people feel they have to talk crap about other peoples hobby.
Best piece of advice is to ignore them. Let them scream into the void
Some people are just miserable and they figure they'll take it out on somebody else. 73 de N9ICV
I see this all the time... oh well.
I think you were quoting the 4th amendment. And besides. Neither of you are government actors. So the first amendment doesn’t apply. That being said, thank you for these great catches of a line I’ve always wondered about. It takes patience to get this sort of video. Keep up the great work.
Mace brand should make a can with a picture of a karen on it.
What was that knuckle head screaming about, was he blaming you for his shorts getting in a knot? Problem is anymore this is the way people get shot.
Never engage stupid people.👍🏻😜
That guy that wasn't that outdated suburban. Who wants to make a bet that he hits his wife?! His wife totally looked like she was ready to divorce his dumb a. Straight up lucky I wasn't there with you I would of had had your back brother.
I don't doubt that guy would be hitting his wife and she is wanting to Divorce him what a knucklehead he is.
thanks for the nice comment about you have my back I really appreciate that but I was ready for him I had a can of Mace my pocket ready to go in Case he try to start something thank you very much for the comment
Wow Mike I watched this bideo several times.
Love the opening scanning of those W&LE SD-40 2s.
Is there any other looker engine like the SD-40s???
He sad I know one thing, That's how many I figured he knew.
Free speech is not a right to be disturbing the peace of the public
I LOVE how you stood up to this Moron!
