    Just leased one. Love it so far. Our friends have the GLS and GLC. I prefer this one. More Utility than the others. Engine was quite surprising for a 2.0 Turbo. Came out of an RX350 with more gadgets than I knew what to do with and hit my head getting in to. This is a lot easier and still has useable tech.

    We have a 4-matic. Nice ride, good visibility, decent power, the 8 speed twin clutch keeps the engine in the torque curve with quick seamless shifts. Spacious, good room in the back and hatch. Way too many gadgets, good if you like gadgets not good if you don't.

    I wouldn't call the build quality excellent but for what it is, it is nice. Much more utilitarian with the hard plastics but it makes the interior feel more durable. We are doing a factory order on a 2021 Galaxy Blue with Beige interior so we could get the heated AND rare ventilated seats. Ours as a FWD should be around 45K MSRP including destination. Premium package, parking assist, panaromic roof, led ambient lighting, black wood trim, rear side airbags, garage door opener... (yes garage door opener is $280 option!)
    It does look like a mini GLS or the new iteration of the old GLK. Wife loved the GLK so no surprise she loves this. I think it looks great in person and it was way more fun to drive than I expected.

      favyan16 when I first turned 21 I had a 99 323 BMW. Had it for 8 months but I bought it used OF COURSE! ..too many problems, got rid of it...within that year I leased a 2014 Lexus Is250. My credit then was a 711...I Loved it. That was like my first REAL car Heated/AC seats...heated side mirrors. Sunroof and it just turned heads. Me being young i didn’t understand HOW IMPORTANT credit was. I ended up doing a favor for a friend involving a vehicle and got the sharp end of the knife. It bought my credit down of course. When my lease was up on 2017, they didn’t even want me on the lease EVEN WITH A CO SIGNOR. (My grandma didn’t have a license and with Lexus your co signor needs a license) so I had to settle for a 2017 Honda Accord SPORT. Honda IMO SUCKS!!! Compared to what I was used to. Even at the service centers. They don’t even give out loaners. I remember one time I went to change a tire (I have a tire package, I live in NYC aka “pothole” city.) can you believe I waiting 3hours just for that? REMIND YOU. In Lexus, all I had to do was pull up and they’ll check my packages in the system. With Honda, I had to call like the tire insurance company and explain to them with happened and all this extra B*S witch prolonged the process. I learned a valuable lesson. TAKE CARE YOUR CREDIT AND DO NOOOO FAVORS INVOLVING IN. So my 2017 ACCORD SPORT! Has NOOOO sunroof or heated seats. The basic accord has sunroof but the SPORT version doesn’t. They service center suck(I’ve been to three within the NYC region) no loaner vehicles to send you out WHILE they service you car and even the waiting rooms are horrible compared to Lexus. BRO. Like I mentioned previously, I have a tire package. I leased my vehicle in the dealership in Queens on northern BLVD. i live in the Bronx and there is a Honda dealership about 10 minutes away from me. it was my last day of work so we thru a lil day party out in queens. I’m thinking since I live 10 mins away from a Honda dealer, I can just go to the one by my house. WRONG. Left the party, crossed the Whitestone bridge (paid toll) You know they told me @ the Bronx dealership, my tire wouldn’t be free UNLESS I take it where I leased my vehicle from!! If they changed it they’ll have to hold my vehicle until the tire insurance company send a check over. I WAS HEATED!!! That was last DRAW. So I had to cross BACK over the bridge. (Pay another toll) then had to wait 2+. I can’t do a Honda. I STRONGLY BELIEVE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I rather pay than to be stranded. I ASKED THEM...WHAT IF I WAS IN ANOTHER STAte? How would I have got my tire change right then and there, rather than wait? NO VALID RESPONSE. I rather take public transportation than lease with Honda again.

      favyan16 my girlfriend has a 2017 E350 and loves it. The dealership is clean and doesn’t look like a high school cafeteria. FRESH COFFEE & they give out loaners if you have some special to do that day while they service your vehicle

    I've been a 'car' guy all my life. But I gotta say I just don't pay attention to Mercedes and BMW anymore because I just don't know what the hell kind of car or truck they want to attract my attention with. Same with Cadillac. Audis are not so bad. But when the 'names' consist of ten or more numbers and letters I am just discombobulated.
    On top of that, very few of the new German cars are endowed with beauty, and, especially, elegance.
    I remember my stepmom was given the task of driving her boss's ( bear with me here, 'cause I'm going back to '68. ) Mercedes 280 SE ( a two door coupe which was slightly smaller than an American compact, but much faster than such with an equivalent inline six. In fact, it was almost as fast as my stepmom's '67 327 Camaro. But what blew me away is how it flew over mostly dirt roads at 70 mph. They just don't make them like they used to, electronic nannies, massive hp and torque and all. And though you can bring today's German cars to an MMA or UFC fight, you can't bring them to an elegant garden party. I do be drinking.

    • @bitkahuna
      @bitkahuna 4 года назад +2

      From your post, seems you stopped being a 'car' guy in 1968. Modern cars blow away old cars in every way. And 'few' new German cars have beauty and elegance? Here's a few: GLE 450, M550i, S560, A8, R8, all Porsches, lol...

    • @JoseLopez-ox6en
      @JoseLopez-ox6en 4 года назад +1

      @@bitkahuna I did not stop being a car guy. I still go every day to auto websites to keep up with things. even if I am no longer able to drive. But to me, it seems that cars are so much better now, that they can't be as fun to drive. If a car has traction control, computers adjusting everything, and have 600 hp, it's like a video game. If you have a car that you have to master in order to not lose control, and you have to really learn how to drive in order to beat cars costing much more ( and driven by those who really don't know how to drive a car, and the physics involved... ), that to me is fun. All the cars you mentioned can only be enjoyed on empty streets, or a track. I'm of the old school it's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow. I've owned a '69 Torino GT, and a '68 Olds 4 4 2, which back then, were really, really fast. But I treasure passing a Porsche 914 in my '61 VW, beating a Monte Carlo SS in my Pinto, and beating, in heavy traffic, a BWM 3 series, and a Saab Turbo, in my aunt's old Subaru Brat with only 65 hp on Connecticut Avenue in DC. So take your Porches, Lambos, and whatever and have what fun you can in rush hour. What fun is a high powered, expensive car when you can rarely take it to the max?

    Is it me or did anyone else pick up on the fact that the engine was a little more noisy then other Mercedes vehicles but since the owners of this vehicle are new customers, they won't notice? That rubbed me a little weird becuase these are new customers and will most likely become lifetime customers so shouldn't they prioritize "quality"?

    For a compact cross it’s got decent second row room, but the front is tiny. The drivers seat is small and after a while driving it I got a hot spot of pain on my left thigh. The third row is just a joke. A marketing gimmick at best. With even kids in the second row you’d have to be the size of a garden gnome to fit in the third. For something you’re really not going to get into under $40k, there are much better alternatives out there. The cost rises sharply as soon as you start adding anything. There were a few on the lot near $50k which is just a crime lol.

      I noticed the knee room width was way smaller than the old glk. The passenger side was worse if you pull in your legs. I worry for longer trips this may be a regrettable purchase. This is the main reason I am test driving other cars and brands in this price range for my next purchase.

    Too bad you’ll often be driving a loaner from the dealer and wasting time having it serviced often for a variety of recurring problems. German cars are well proven to be among the least reliable in the world. A friend is a Mercedes technician at a large dealer and told me nobody working in service at the dealer would ever own a Mercedes unless it was leased and they were okay with lots of unscheduled dealer visits and even having it towed to the dealer multiple times under warranty. There are even RUclips videos of nearly new Mercedes ambulances failing with dying passengers on board in Germany on the way to a hospital. Volkswagen couldn’t even manage to comply with emissions requirements without grossly cheating.
