I lived in West Virginia for eight years, my daughter was born in West Virginia and let me just say her accent is spot on! I've heard most of the lingo and trust me when I say it's all accurate. She did a fantastic job and I'm very impressed. I like her so much more now, and I already liked her before watching this, so she's pretty perfect!

Oh it is easy done! I am the same way. I'm WV born and raised, and have lived In England most of my adult life. My daily accent has mellowed way out, and many people seem to think I'm Canadian, but if I talk about WV or, like Jennifer says if I've talked to anyone in the last little while, I'll be all WV.

Sure, if you avoid the strip mined areas and the cricks full of contaminants that come out of the strip mined areas. The strip mined areas are some of the ugliest places in the USA.

She forgot "yonder". As in unit in unit of measurement. My grandma would say "It is somewhere out yonder".
Makes me think of my mammaw singing "when the roll is called up yonder I'll be there"
Yonder is a direction not a measurement. "It's over yonder." Usually indicated by pointing in the general direction of that location.

Another way to say yonder is something is "clear out of seein"
A loud noise is "an offense to the ear"
I tend not to like "celebrity", but I gotta say I genuinely like JGar. Her inner beauty is just as strong as her outer beauty.

Born and raised in northeast PA, I grew up saying "warsh", and "crick". I also remember an old time song that used "a bushel and a peck"
I also am PA born and raised. My sister always said "warsh". Drove her kids nuts. PA also is a "language".

As someone who goes on and out of my southern accent/way of speaking depending on circumstances, Jennifer Garner is now very relatable, haha.
First saw her in Alias and have loved her ever since. So gratifying to discover that she’s also such a nice person. I wish her the best in her life and profession.

Yeah, that smile took me aback a bit! So much warmth in that smile, just radiant! Man, I hope I can age half as gracefully.
Living in Texas now, but born and raised in WV. MANY generations in WV. You can’t nail down a WV accent. A true one. Different in different regions. Sometimes different in different hollers. For instance for some in my family, you put your groceries in a brown paper boig (that’s not exactly right, but it’s as close as I can get phonetically). On the other hand, my grandfather always put his groceries in a poke.

He's in a mess *of trouble* which still means it's a unit of measure.
Don't forget that if someone has a lot of problems or issues they are a hot mess. I call my boss that every day nearly.
