Born and raised WV, I grew up hearing so many of these but as I got older, I started speaking like this less and less. Now I'm pretty neutral, but it's fun to turn it on at times, think about my pap everytime I do lol
Living in Texas now, but born and raised in WV. MANY generations in WV. You can’t nail down a WV accent. A true one. Different in different regions. Sometimes different in different hollers. For instance for some in my family, you put your groceries in a brown paper boig (that’s not exactly right, but it’s as close as I can get phonetically). On the other hand, my grandfather always put his groceries in a poke.
I love hearing a foreign actor's accent go native when speaking English. I do hate hearing how American media education & industry has long imposed this idea of a homogenized "American" accent. Hearing Jennifer go native is f'ing awesome!
