@GenSeanPatton To be fair, if you listen to what he says in his stream he didn't know how many petards it would take. But yeah, perfect intuition I guess. :)
Love it how T90 frames it as masterpiece, viper such a pro, he calculated his every move, and then you see Vipers POV: "Oh I only got 6 left, not sure if thats even enough" 111111111111
When you are live streaming with thousand of viewers, it's always better to assume you screwed up and the pressure of failing always make you assume you miscalculate something. Pretty sure if you ask Viper in a quizz the number of petards to kill a TC he will tell you 5 or 6 with confidence
@@daveh6800 maybe also because he knows Viper is a troll, and Viper told him privately before the match that he had a "sick specific civ/map strat prepared"
@@xXxIsmirWurstxXxi think you'll find your answer in this video. You think it's obvious because you now know the answer. It's not obvious without the answer.
Amazing mastapiece, those are the kind of strats you usually see in our low elo scene (I'm there) but very rarely see in the pro scene, Viper is the best!
It's funny, the first game of yours I ever saw on RUclips some 5,6 or 7 years ago, you casted a Viper game. You described him as a guy who beats his opponents with a thousand stings. Here he did the opposite which makes me chuckle.
This was sick, I'm glad I saw it live. However, I think ciskhan missed is what viper wasn't doing. You're playing the viper and he's defending with just 2 scorps, there must be something else going on
I've seen the Taiwan [TAG] lads do this play cutting through forests in tgs on Hideout with Khmer so I could see this play potentially coming especially given the game mode when I saw civs 11 Really awesome when not only the strategy is cheeky but it also works out perfectly having just barely enough to take out the tc, I think you need 5 or so?
That MBL epic Pitard rush is legendary. I watched it years ago and it was one of the very few AoE2 videos I watched. Took me several years before I decided to play the game for myself.
You just can't make it up how Viper literally created certain amount of petards that were just enough to go through all these quick walls and then destroyed they TC. HOW? Viper is a god.
I thought he was trash talking someone else when he said "pretty crappy casting" and I was so surprised because T90 is always umble! Glad to find out he has indeed stayed umble.
Maybe I've just seen a lot of silly play at my ELO but I've seen quite a few cheesy Khmer strats, if I see them picked on a closed map I'm always thinking "Ballista Ele cheese strat", especially in a sudden death tourney. And ESPECIALLY especially after seeing such an early castle (because he was surely already on stone...suspicious). I do think it was could have been predicted, I'd have at least outposted the woodline.
that was amazing!! the only thing you can say in retrospect that could have tipped ciskhan off is -- where were viper's units??? He couldn't have been booming on 1 TC. I'm not very good at the game so I don't know what else he thought viper could have been doing, but I sure don't blame him for not imagining this strategy from his opponent
I love the old graphics of that cast from the past! And the sounds are so iconic as well. Please cast some original version game some time just for the sake of it :D (non-Fatslob one I mean)
4:57 Hey T90, I was wondering if you could start your next youtube video with a resounding "Gauges!' in remembrance of how you have a good gauge of the way games are going to play out after all these years, you legend.
Genuine question from a noob... at about 09:30 Ciskhan's archers are a bit stuck with nothing to do and he takes them back to base. But there are 2-3 houses he could shoot down. I know it's not going to be a game winner and Viper could just rebuild them further back but why not do that rather than walking them all the way home. It could pop cap viper for a moment, it means he has to commit some villgers and resuorces to re building them which overall adds a bit of slow down to vipers game. I often see moments like this and wonder why players don't just try to get some pickings from the edges of someones town.
There are a few reasons I can think of. 1) Houses would take a while to destroy with archers, even with Saracen bonus. That’s time the archers aren’t spending on other things, and the damage to Viper would be very small. 2) Ciskhan doesn’t see the whole map like we do. He doesn’t know what Viper is doing, so he doesn’t know if there are enemy units sneaking toward his own base. 3) He doesn’t want his archers to get trapped inside Viper’s walls. 4) Retreating keeps Viper guessing about Ciskhan’s unit count and position. He might approach from the other direction, or set an ambush for Viper if he decides to counterattack. 5) Every archer that dies doing low-value things in Viper’s base is an archer that won’t be available later for either attack or defense. 6) An archer costs more than a house. If burning down two houses costs one archer, that’s a bad trade. It’s not worth the risk.
Thank you for the detailed response. To be honest I hadnt really thought about any of those, apart from point 1 a bit. Point 2 and 4 particularly make sense. As someone who hasn't played for... probably a couple of decades now apart from one try a year or so ago that was pretty pathetic :D it's easy to forget you can't see what your opponants doing when all I do is watch these stream videos. Makes sense when you explain it like that though. Cheers.@@brianensign7638
@@brianensign7638 You made six points but the main one is that Viper is in Castle age a lot earlier and Ciskhan doesn't want to risk losing his army to a castle age push. He wants the safety of his base and a bigger ball of archers.
Hey man, I saw someone that was looking so close to you in another youtube video, but he had longer hair. Do your brother do youtube? Anyways, thanks for all the awesome content, love every minute of it
I'm 5 months late, but if Viper had a stable in the back and was producing knights, since he was in castle already, he would have lost his whole army. It makes more sense, now that he has done some damage (destroyed farms, forced idle time, forced towers, destroyed walls) to go back and wait for upgrades (Crossbow, bodkin arrow) instead of (potentially) risking an army worth over 1000 resources. In other words, just 3-4 knights would have killed that whole army, and Ciskhan would have nothing. You'll see this fairly commonly from archer rushes, because going for 2 archery range archers means you need to devote a lot of resources to producing archers, meaning your opponent will get to castle before you.
Why remind me of this game? 111111
It was a great game!
You played it well and it was honestly looking great for you until the last 30 seconds 11
Vipy would have gotten everyone else! Well played both of you!

?@@rbhatt2247
Imagine if he would have put that elephant on no attack stance.
Would have been really shocking if Ciskhan didn't notice at all until after the petards detonated. 😅
He did the game is bugged
You can see from Viper's POV that the ballista elephant is on "aggressive" attack stance@@jackwaite4035
