I find it quite discrespectful when people try to make it out that this guy won the lottery by dating this girl, especially to his face. He may not be what people nowadays would say traditionally good looking, but he's funny, quick witted and seems like a good guy.

Like of course he’s lucky to have her and I admire a man that can worship his S.O without caring what ppl think, but at this point it’s not funny anymore and I can tell he’s uncomfortable with it and just goes along with the questions to get over it. Ariana is a goddess haha but she chose him and he chose her. Can that just be the end of it? It’s like when the world went crazy over the prince William marrying the “commoner” Cate Middleton, and it’s just like fuck off they love eachother get over it

The only problem I have with this conversation is the constant suggestion that Pete is soooo undeserving of Ariana. Like only if he admits he is unattractive or that he has low self esteem or some defect or something, does it make sense that she would want to marry him. When actually, they are just two people who fell in love.
The line of questioning also reinforces the idea that if a man or woman is attractive they are automatically an amazing faultless person who you should be grateful to be marrying. And yet, we all know that is far from the truth 😏 Lastly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And clearly, they are both beholden to each other, so that's all that matters. We don't need to "make sense of it". Just let people by happy and don't allow social media/media to tear apart a relationship by encouraging this type of needless questioning and putting so much pressure on it.

This is the most awkward thing. Ever. Can you imagine being in a relationship with someone with the whole world making jokes about how your significant is better than you, like held on a pedestal?
