Thanks a lot. The only thing is you could've shown how to get it off the front tabs a bit more. We were afraid to pull hard on the front, and we ended up taking off the black grill cover, so we could see where the tabs were there, and also, it was impossible to disengage the electric part, until we took the bumper off halfway, and then one of us disconnected it, while the other held the bumper half off. Finally, we had to also take off the front license plate and a tab under it. We needed a bit more info on how to take off just the top part of each plastic tab, so that we could reuse them. My friend, luckily, knew that, but most people might not know how to reuse them and it was hard to put them back on. Thanks!

My daughter (42) and I (67) just completed replacement of two passenger side bulbs in her 2014 Escape. I removed the wheel, though we agreed afterwards this was not necessary. All I did was remove the eight 7mm screws and one push tab, loosen the trim pieces, reach in and twist/pull the light sockets out, pull the bulb out with two hands (easily), insert the new bulbs (by feel) and reinsert and twist the sockets back in the housing. It took us 15~20 minutes, even with wheel removal. We both watched this video beforehand and decided to try the wheel well method first. It was just too easy. All your viewers need to quit complaining about how HARD it is. I could do it now with my eyes closed.

I would definitely stay away from the bumper cover removal method, it's just too much work. Check for other videos that show removing the front tire and then removing the bolts and plastic push pins that hold the wheel liner in place and peel it back to access the area where the bulbs are located. It's not easy, but I changed out the parking lamp on the passenger side....reaching in with my left arm, twisted out the lamp holder, popped out the old bulb and inserted the new one and then reinstalled the lamp holder. It's not an easy thing, you have to be somewhat coordinated to make it happen but it can be done.

After seeing video after video on complicated procedures I decided to look at it from the top. Loosened the clamp to the air filter box and the sensor and pulled out the box. There was access thru there. As a mechanic, I've had to do quite a few bulb replacements by feel so was quite easy. You got to be able to work one handed for this method as only one arm will fit but didn't have to remove screws or wheels or anything like that. I did the passenger side before by removing the splash guard and my arm got scratched up. Driver side was easy from top, took 20 to 25 mins. Biggest pain was fitting the socket back into the fixture, you have to line up the wider tab into the correct slot

You got it. It is a bit crazy. Some people with smaller diameter arms can get down in there without pulling the bumper but I haven't been able to do it. Great video. I recently purchased a 2014 Escape, so I've been educating myself using your channel. One thing I was wondering about this: is it possible to pop off the outer grille pieces (the small pieces of trim directly above the fog light assemblies, with the recovery hook access door on the passenger's side one) and gain access from above? Or would there not be room to physically get your hands in there?

There are the few tight reaches like the 3 screws above each front wheel and its important to take your time with the wheel well moldings to not snap any retainers if you can help it. If you're going in there, it may also be a good time to check out your wiper fluid tank and hoses as well as your headlamps if you are thinking about changing anything with them as well.

Does anyone know the part number, or the thread type, for the black mounting bolt on the top of the fog lamp assembly? The assembly part diagrams I’ve found online show the bolt but then don’t list the bolt information!

Here down-under (Australia, affectionately known as shitville), I have a 2016 Ford Kuga Diesel AWD with the powershift (aka powershit) 6DTC450 gearbox (same as the Escape in the US, but you guys don't have a diesel engine and not so much of the pwershit gearboxes).
I love the car, but hate working on it.
It was an absolute pain in the arse each time when I changed the front driving lights, oil filter under the the engine, the battery, the inner cabin filter, and even when i cleared the clogged filter in the washer bottle. All took so much time because of the numerous bits and pieces I need to take off.
I refused when workshop asked for a $100 for replacing the front light + the cost of the bulb. After doing it myself, I realised the designer of this car was a warped gynaecologist
For changing the driving bulbs, I prefer jacking up the car, removing the wheel, and rolling back the wheel cover.
      Thanks for sharing your expertise

Would you not just love to meet the designer that thought this was a good idea to make what should be a 5 minute job a full workshop fight

Followed vid. Great, but found I did not have to remove wheel arch from at rear. Only front part to just behind bumper join. Put something in to keep it clear of Humphreys removing. Also seven mill screws can stay in assembly . Three torxs hold from on

I've heard some people with slimmer arms can go in through the wheel well or from the top. We did this video to show the way you'd get the best access without tearing up your arm. How do you typically go about it?

Obviously you have never done a bulb replacement for the titanium edition. Follow the instructions.

Hey there CWFloyd- you're right- I dont have a titanium to work on so my example is indeed limited. I wasn't aware there was much difference in the fog lamps between SE, SEL, and TITANIUM Escapes for 2013-2016. Can you maybe share what exactly is different and we could help include the details in the description to help others? Sorry you didn't find what you were looking for here. The meat of this procedure is to get the front bumper off to get access to these lower bulbs. Hope you have a great day sir!

Everything I've seen on RUclips regarding replacement of fog-light light bulbs in a 2016 Ford Escape SE points to the time and labor intensive means of wheel-well disassembley or bumper cover removal.
That is, up until I ran across this little vignette:

What a bloody performance! No disrespect to your video- actually very informative- but what an awful design by Ford. I will NEVER do this myself. In fact, I’ve just got one of these cars but I’d sell it before having to go through this trauma. Shame as it’s a really nice car to drive…

Man I was so pumped- i literally ran out to my 13 to try it- took my trim tool and popped off the passenger side insert above the foglight assembly and it us all bumper cover behind it aside from the access cavity for the towing eye. No easy way to the screws on the fog assembly. Same on the drivers side. No dice. I was going to whip out a video asap and give you props haha. Maybe its a change from 13 to 14??? I
