i love the way digitakt processes transient and low frequency tone information for kick drum samples. its similar to the octatrack in that it imparts this beautiful snappy filtered blanket that makes the punch even harder and more polished. but its a different character than the octatrack. and they both impart really nice characters
first and foremost... congrats to your musical skills... everything you do has some lit grooves. Everytime i see you on the digitakt... i know i purchased the right gear and at the same time knowing that my digitakt skills need to improve ;-)
very inspiring! Rocking the same setup now. Question; do you sequence the drum track on the SD itself all the time? If I do so via the Digitakt i need multiple midi tracks, since it doesnt allow overdubbing of notes.
Yeah the portability is actually REALLY nice. I also wish you could do micro-timing. If you can live without 16th notes, you can set the sequencer subdivision to 1/8 so you'd technically have 8 bars. You can do it for each part separately. Thanks for watching!
Had the Digitakt and could get my head around it and didn't fit well in the mix with other gear (lots of post and eq-ing). Sold the MC-101 as well and now totally happy with SH-4d. They are all fine machines but these were not for me.
So i have the keystep 37 and digitakt setup too but when i try recording strum with the chord feature the digitakt can’t track it properly. Has anyone had this same experience? Dope video btw!
That part was cutout of the vid to try to keep the time shorter. I had checked the micro timing and it was good. So it was ultimately a bug with the SH-4d (fixed with a power cycle)
Thats the thing with Elektron: If you want Stereo you need the old tech (Octatrack I/II is tech from 10 years ago). The Digitakt is nice and they have put a lot of extra features in it over time, but yeah - only Mono. Good enough for Techno I guess...
Thank you! I think Meems cut out a good 15 minutes of me trying to figure out why the first beat of the measure would not play 🤣 Just turned out to be a software bug.
Thanks for watching! ❤

Yup, even though it converts everything to mono I'm always pleasantly surprised at the 'quality' of the sample.

Cool stuff, very nice to hear this come together. I particularly like the percussion.
Thanks Marc!
Sounds soooo good, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!

nvm got it; u use multiple tracks as well.
Hey, I got a SH-4d recently too! I like it as a portable synth to use on the couch, hammock, etc. I just wish the sequencer allowed more than 4 bars.

You my dude and i just bought a digitakt. Do more beats with that thing !
looking 4wrd to the sh4d review :)
Reminds me of early Skam records - a funkier Quibbling Yellow...
Very cool beat. Makes me want to pull out my Digitakt.

I can see an elektron in my stars at some point. Good video 👍

Interesting thanks
Sometimes if the kick isn't playing on the one it can be micro timing putting that kick early. No idea if that's what happened here...

@@teftymusictech tfw you suggest a technical explanation thinking you're so smart and the real solution is turning it off and on again
How to change your cool stereo synth sounds to mono.

32 bars, for when you've REEAAAAAAAALLY got the blues. 🤣
