25:45 Correction: the deleted scene has nothing to do with Limbus Company. We literally fight Iori's henchmen on the first battle of the game. In the To Claim Their Bones event, Caiman even says that there's going to be an Association opening to deal with Distortions (which implies Iori's hand, since she's a high-standing Fixer that would have the know-how and resources to open an entire Association), while Limbus Company is planning on dealing with them on a corporate scale. 26:26 Another one: Vergilius broke parts of the contract, but not the whole thing, otherwise he'd have no reason to stay with Limbus Company after Canto 6.
@@TheKHCHmm, I remember Vergilius stating that he has to make concessions and rein in his greed, which implies he still does get something out of the contract, just significantly less. Don't quite recall the entire conversation, so I don't remember whether Faust said that the entire reward is gone.

Luck is not the main defining skill required to win in LobCorp, game knowledge is. There's a youtube playthrough of someone playing through the entire game with a single Agent
Personally, i'd say Lob Corp requires less luck than LoR, but instead, patience and a LOT of concentration. Grinding will drain time and effort and trying to keep multiple abno conditions to stay 'contained' in mind all at once are the challenge, so you never gamble with them. And the story presses on the concept - of how gruelling it is to face the task that feels impossible. Trying to get up from pit of despair over and over, making no progress and feeling like every day only is more difficult to deal with than another, as well as single slip of distraction can send your progress tumbling down. Personally i see that a ludonarrative to game's story. That self betterment can feel impossible, and your fears, demotivation, weaknesses will take an absurd amount of effort. To distort is to give up, finding struggle too difficult to keep fighting an uphill battle. With abnormalities being embodiment of intrusive thoughts, this sets up a tone for whole franchise in a way i love it.
While I can definitely see where you're coming from, I'd argue that an emphasis on RNG is prevalent in any game where you do not directly control your characters, be it management sims or otherwise

I should say you can literally Get every unit for free from the spark system in limbus. Basically ego shard allow you to buy/spark the ego and IDs for free. Yes they do have a function outside of upgrading ids and egos As for making Limbus an early access game the only reason it’s a gacha is cause iirc they admitted they needed money. All of us would love it to be an early access game.
I'm gonna be dead honest I genuinely don't know why I omitted the whole egoshard thing from the video. It's in my script but I just didn t include it? I think it might've been because of some audio issues and I didn't have time to rerecord. It was 2am and I crashed the second it finished rendering.
Still, I should've delayed the vid and rerecorded that bit or something. I think with videos like these you should be able to expect at least a certain degree of integrity and professionalism.
Related to that there is also a pitty system, outside of the basic banner any focused banner lets you choose 1 from its featured sinners or egos after 200 pulls
This is something I didn't mention on purpose because it was something that was unrelated to what my (as it turns out wrong) understanding of a pity system was. Apparently what I thought pity system means is actually a "soft pity" instead. I really miss when youtube used to let you put text boxes on top of thr video so you could make adjustments for stuff like this
I love Ruina so much because its difficultly is based on how much you want to do. You can beat the game with incredibly stupid strategies, use fully minmaxed builds to wipe everything or just play your own way. However it is fundamentally unbalanced from a game perspective mostly smoke and dice power....but thats the fun of it! If you really want you can break it apart!
I'm so glad I found your footage, man, you have no idea. Credited in the description, naturally. I wanted to ask you for permission originally but saw no activity on tour channel in years so I wasnzt sure if you'd even respond in time for me to be editing the video, so I'm sorry about that. You're genuinely the best player I've seen playing this game. While watching your footage I kept thinking to myself "how does this even work?" So props for that haha
Note/PSA: 18:24 I do not recommend you finish Leviathan till you finish Library of Ruina. Some events in LoR are spoiled by Leviathan and in Limbus Company you can finish Chapter 4 but not 4.5 without getting spoiled as well. If you can enjoy the games still knowing the ending in mind you can do anything in order you like but major plot points or actions will be spoiled by going into those parts of the manga/webnovel and game. For the recommended breakdown of what content you can go through I recommend either paths: LoR -> Limbus Company or Leviathan (order doesn't matter as of writing this) Limbus company (before chapter 4.5) -> LoR The choice is always yours to decide whether you're fine with spoilers or not. If you're interested in Limbus and not Ruina feel free to keep enjoying Limbus!
Why complain about the Enkephalin system in Limbus when you have like 300 modules? I've never seen anyone run out of it never so I don't think that's a real problem. LCB does have a pity system (even though it's very high) and the MDs that you can farm so getting IDs is not a problem.
I was just pointing out a flaw with the inherent design of mobile games with battery systems, but yeah I really do have more modules than I know what to do with lmfao
Sleeper agent activing, awaiting orders. Also a thing I may add, the deleted ending of Ruina actually doesn't relate to Limbus company, is a common misconception that people think that Iori is connected to Limbus company, but with how her apprentices tried to kill Dante at the start she may be against them.
I always assumed that her apprentices attacking Dante was something going on against her orders since they retreated after Vergil decided to kindly tell them to leave and Leviathan at least to me implied that Iori planned for Verg to end up with LCB
@@TheKHC They way they are and how Vergilius speaks sounds like they are following her orders, Vergilius even says "Tell the serpent this, the flow can't be stopped"
since we know with 5.5 BL that limbus company wants to become a (non-fixer?) business specialising in managing distortions, Iori's plan to make an association dedicated to managing distortions or ego-wielders would put her in opposition against them for a monopoly on that market
Yeah while limbus company writing on the most recent chapters are amazing but it's not on the same level as library but it's getting there and i can't wait because once it gets on ruina's level of writing it will be amazing
people still dickwriting ruina while it being the shitiest story wise in the series make me gag.limbus already surpass it with 6 chaptor.ruina is still great at everything cepth the protagonist
About Vergilius's actions in canto 6. . . . . . . . He said that he won't be receiving "everything" out of his contract. I assume that limbus promised him much more than just Lapis. I guess that it promised him a way to travel to a world where the tragedy at his orphanage never happened or where Garnet survived. Now, however, he won't be able to go there. That's only my guess though. I can't even call it a theory as it isn't based on any evidence.
It's just an estimate from how much luck really is required, since you don't really have an active control of your employees. You can give them directives but there's always gonna be a fat chance of rng screwing you over and making you lose several employees to random chance. Selecting an abnormality is also related to random chance since the set of three is completely out of your control and so you could end up with a bunch of high level abnos all at once whrrein you can't even do much against. And even if you do everything perfectly, the amount of enkephalin you extract might still not be consistent after all is said and done
@@TheKHC I personally disagree with that. In my opinion those problems aren't exactly tied to luck, but a far bigger issue of the game. 1) You can give them directives but there's always gonna be a fat chance of rng screwing you over and making you lose several employees to random chance. Luck is involved in work process, sure, but it's A) hugely mitigated by grinding(this word...) B) isn't actually that important 90% of the time. There is only a handful of abnormalities that can really screw you over by unfair RNG, be it an instakill, an instabreak, etc; and those abnormalities can still be worked on consitently if you know what you are doing, meaning knowledge is key. Every other abnormality either gives a warning shot before actually doing something, allowing you leeway for management, or their mechanics aren't consequential enough to care. Like Big Wolf; if you've grinded(again) agent stats, Wolf does... nothing, really. Even an extremely unlikely Bad work does basically nothing, as the agent doesn't die. 2)Selecting an abnormality is also related to random chance since the set of three is completely out of your control and so you could end up with a bunch of high level abnos all at once whrrein you can't even do much against. I agree that it's somewhat luck dependant, but "picking a bunch of high level abnos all at once" doesn't really happen? At least when it's actually unplayable against. The only place where it can happen is Central Command, before it getting "multiple high level abnos" doesn't happen because they are locked at that moment. And if, by getting to Central Command, your agents can't deal with a WAW/ALEPH level threat, it's more so a grinding(again, this word) issue rather than an RNG one, because the spike in difficulty in Central Command is *consistent*, it's like the spike from Urban Plague to Star of the City; you will feel it no matter the playthrough. I can see why you would think that it's RNG fest, though, because it *is* pretty luck dependant if you aren't doing the most tidious, boring thing in the game: grinding. If you don't grind, game is exponentially more difficult and luck plays way bigger role in your playthrough. If you do grind, it's a breeze through and through. In my opinion, the actual critism should've been this tidious process of having to grind and grind and grind over and over again. This game is pointlessly grindy, to a point where the main difficulty comes from having to force yourself to grind, not actually overcome difficulties. Grinding isn't luck dependant and it's not skill based either, it's just a test of patience. Actual skill to luck distribution of LC, in my opinion, is about 90/10, which skill and knowledge making the game, actually, way too easy to play. If you know what you're doing, luck won't really affect anything; you can first try every single day with minimal issues. But that can only happen IF you grind. Without grinding, no amount of skill can save a run. The game is ass to play not because you need to get lucky to do anything, but because you need to spend hours upon hours doing repeated works with minimal amount of brain activity to do anything. If this grinding was cut down by 50-80%, the game wouldn't have been labeled as "overly difficult" by the community and whatnot; because it really isn't any of that. It grindy as shit. At least, that's my opinion.
I can definitely see where you're coming from, though I do admit in the video that I never made it past 2 resets at day 25. This is a criticism from a guy who never even finished the game, let alone got close, so my views eill definitely differ from those of someone who knows what they're doing, so I greatly appreciate this comment
I guess. My understanding of a pity system in gachas has always been that the more you roll without getting anything you get a slightly increased chance at getting something
@@TheKHC pity just means a guaranteed unit once you reach a certain amount of pulls. It's even in the name, it's called pity since it's to take pity on the people who spend alot of pulls without getting anything. It's also why most players would state that pity is at 90 or 200 etc. since that's the amount you need to reach for a guaranteed unit. The chances increasing after every pull is called "soft pity" instead. Since it's not guaranteed thus considered "soft".
LoR definitely is most skill dependent game of 3. You can make rng proof builds and I've seen someone clear game up to impuritas with forced enemy maxroll player minroll and only drop the run cause they got bored P. S I'd take Keter realization 2 style difficulty over 6-48 style difficulty 10 tines over
Walked past an exorcist at 711 and a cowboy on the sidewalk. I agree with much of what you stated with Ruina, especially the grinding, but I disagree with Roland. His stuff does come later. But I felt they still did his character incredibly well.
I never said they did Roland poorly, he's my favorite part of the game by a mile, i just wish he was actually viable to play as, especially since Keter has my favorite battle themes
Funny enough: Wonder lab could be stillconcider canon as the author remove it as sign of distrust toward PM for firing another artist. So basicly IS canon, but will not be referenced anymore. In the other side, the Ruina ending was technifally Retcon, mostly sims to be becuase people didnt like the idea that the head attack the main group for knowing about Angela and not because Hod rat them out. Tho, concidering the 3 guys who attack dante in prologue where Iori's followers the ending with her propoaing the Book hunter/Egoist organisation may or may not have happened. As could happen, but is clear not popular enough yet, or Limbus seems to be fullfiling said roll. Not to mention that we yet dont know why she send people after dante. Dias has been implicated to be leading and funding Limbus company, so may be there The reason. We mowt likly well know for sure in the end of this story
A lot of this videi is very subjective and I don't agree with a lot of it, but I respect your opinions. However, please do more research on the little things you talk about. The reason why Wonderlab was removed was because of porn of one of the characters bring drawn on 4chan, and the artist behind Wonderlab had a mental breakdown thay caused her to freak her shit out at Project Moon, and that was the reason it was deleted. It is entirely unrelated to the Limbus drama. The Limbus drama occurred because when PM released the sidestory where the cast goes to a shitty crab-filled beach, Korean players did not feel like the ID of Ishmael wearing a diving suit was sexy enough, and they accused PM of being feminists. In South Korea, the cultural feminism discussion is really intense, so emotions flared up. This did result in Vellmori, main artist for Limbus cutscenes at the time, being removed due to her having feminist posts online, which made things worse.
By the way, anyone who posts 🤏 at you is implying you have a tiny penis and no honor as a man, it is a common emoji used by feminists in South Korea to demean men
I stated in the video specifically that I didn't look into the whole drama much, the reason is I didn't wanna disteact from the point of the video as a whole. Sucks that all of that happened though. Thanks for clearing that up
They are right about me having no honor, but the size of my energy sector is private to me and my wife, thank you for letting me know. As for the subjective part, I mean, I'd hope so? I generally just make videos on whatever I feel like. In no way do I ever intend on making it seem like all of this is objective, as I am just some guy. I apologize sincerely if zi seemed condescending in any way
I don't wanna be that Guy, but you haven't done your research either xD. Velmori wasn't removed because of something she did, she simply resigned amicably from Project Moon.
I decided to just look into this myself because I've been seeing completely contradictory accounts and as far as I understand it Mimi had some sort of meltdown related to 4chan or somethong and disassociated because of that and Velmori is a totally unrelated case that ended amicably
Im on the phone, I don't want to write on the phone It is uncomfortable I wanted to start with that because my next comment is only an oversimplification of a bible sized normal comment: Most of what you exposed in the video seems like a you problem rather than a universal one... Not talking about opinion but taking issue in things addressed by the games: -no control on charcters in LC? Learning to micro is a BIG part of later Sephira Meltdowns -RNG on abnos? Unless the day ends on either a 1 or a 6, Memory Repository is there to reroll the abnormalities you got on a department... And repeating 2-3 days with vetter gear is not the end of the world -Lack of books for story progression in Ruina? You know "Request" is unlocked around midway through the game just to make hoarding books easy, right? (Request: Abno page tier 1, marks an enemy, and the marked enemy gives more books on death, then you can reaply the mark) (Plus there are internal mechanics to deterr you from burning more books than needed of of which is that, from Urban Nightmare onwards, golden Key and Combat pages receive a substantial rate up) -too little lunacy? Once you unlock the mirror in Canto 2, that is no longer an excuse... Running Mirror Dungeons awards you 750 lunacy a week, plus 500 for weekly maintenance... A full energy refill costs you 26 lunacy And don't tell me you out of all people are saving for the Gacha (If you didn't knew btw... Refilling energy with lunacy and farming the mirror like a slave on the mines is more efficient than pulling to get characters) And yes, that was the short, unreasonable version of what I wanted to comment
I never complained about lunacy, I complained about enkephalin batteries. I think the way they handle lunacy is perfectly justified. But also yes I'm a gacha hoarder I am not even gonna try to deny that lol.
@@TheKHC I was talking about lack of energy Edit: let me rephrase that... It's 3:50AM in my place, so excuse me a bit... I was talking about how you complained on the ever-draining enkephalin, and how the best method to recharge it is self sufficient
If you truly loved LoR as much as you say you did, then it deserves to be completed legit (No grind is fine though, tht just save time and doesnt make it any easier). None of fights are so hard they need to be cheated, Angelas final realisation fight is the only one that can feel like rng and unfair.
Thats the one I cheated lol. I've actually gone back for it like once or twice a month, reinstalling the game, trying for multiple hours, failing, uninstalling, repeat
@@TheKHC Fair enough, which one is it you struggle with? The RNG heavy ones Blood Bath and/or Snow Queen? Or is it Heart of Aspiration and/or Silent Girl. I myself struggled with Heart of Aspiration for a while, as even tho Silent Girl is prob harder Purple Tear Guard stance helps to kinda cheese the fight.
@@TheKHC I feel you, tht was the one I struggled with, that Mass Attack is a bitch. Its also the one I prob the least be able to help with coz Im not even sure whats the best strategy other than bring the best decks available, and try to do your best with dealing with the hankering mechanic.
The reason why Ruina is 'hard' is because it has so many mechanics and moving gears every turn. If you understand everything about the game and the system, rng can almost entirely be ignored with the exception of early game.
ruina was never hard pm constencely kneeling and nerfing any reception instead of just make a easy mod for the casual like the fuck did you need to nerf the turtorial 3 time or finn at all
I had to watch this a few times to gather my thoughts. It kind of reminds me of the Star Trek reboot from 2009, where instead of telling a single coherent story, he left all the details in other forms of media. You had to read comic books, web comics, posts on social media, and all kinds of other sources just to understand large parts of the plot. I was willing to do that once for my beloved Star Trek, and I don't do that kind of stuff anymore, as it's exhausting and ultimately unsatisfying. This seems like an interesting franchise, but I'll never play it. I'm glad it has an audience though. I'm more likely to go to South Korea just to get a sandwich from HamHam PangPang. I do admire your appreciation for classic literature. That's becoming more esoteric each generation. If you're looking for something a bit more modern that has many of the same elements, I can't recommend the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons enough. It's a series of four novels about the future of humanity. The first one is written in the style of Canterbury Tales, as a group of pilgrims share their stories on their journey to sacrifice themselves to an alien life form known as The Shrike. The audiobook is read by an entire cast and is excellent. So what's next on the agenda? Have you found an American game worth discussing? Or is there a different topic you'd like to take a bite out of? This video looked and sounded excellent, by the way. The upgrade to your computer made quite a difference.
I have heard of Hyperion but have yet to read it As for the next thing, I'm thinking of doing Legacy of Kain but I'm waiting for my coin to land on its edge. Also being able to finally make Videos in 1080p without the choppiest playback known to man limited to 2 audio and 2 video layers each is so freeing dude
@@TheKHC I'm a huge Legacy of Kain fan. In fact, Soul Reaver was the first game I bought from Amazon, and my parents had to mail it to me in Japan so I could play it. I even played Nosgoth, the multiplayer shooter, if you can believe it. I find it both sad and hilarious that the last appearance we will ever have of Kain and Raziel was in a Tomb Raider game. Alas, we're never getting anything from that franchise again. Most of the remarkably talented voice cast has passed away or retired, and Dead Sun showed that publishers just aren't interested in this kind of game anymore. Their idea of good vampire games is Redfall. Hell, we can't even get Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 out the door. I have Blood Omen 2 on my GameCube. I think I'm going to beat that again this week. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@TheKHC It develops Kain's character, showing that he specifically resents manipulators and goes out of his way to sabotage everyone's designs on him. While it's probably the worst from a gameplay perspective, it does do a lot to develop the world. I also didn't care for Defiance's storyline, as it felt predestined, and I despise the concept of destiny and the "chosen one" trope. Soul Reaver has some gameplay flaws, like the excessive block puzzles, but the amount of depth and how they negated loading times is incredible. I didn't find out until years later about how to gain acceptance from the humans and fight the hidden boss. That game and Shadowman were feats of programming we just don't see anymore.
My personal favorite is easily Soul Reaver 2 though I do also quite like Defiance, SR1 and BO1. SR2 just ticks ever box for me. History abhorrs a paradox
13:41 skill issue like really you better not burn all books and you will usually get all stuff after doing reception 2 times. From your gameplay footage it really looks like you don't know how to build in this game and can't really tell that it's game's fault for not explaning that you need to have light regen and card givers for your deck
I can absolutely get why you'd think that lol. I just went in postgame and just did any stages I could think of that wouldnt spoil anything that were good enough. At some points like the hokma abno fight I straight up forgot to set anything and went in with base pages lmao. As for the burning thing; skill issue or not I don't think a game should tie the attempt at a level to a finite resource. Once you've reached a stage you should be allowed to just try it as much as you need, only needing to go back to older levels to get more cards
I'd argue it's pretty bad. I remember that my first time trying the game I got set back pretty badly cause I kept failing repeatedly at Xiaos reception till I eventually ran out of the books I needed. Having to redo the same 3 or 4 hard battles all over is extremelt disheartening.
@@TheKHC also repeting past receptions is way easier when you get cards from them so Idk how you got back to 4 or 3 hard battles. there is also very forgiving thing that you can choose other floors after falling to boss and that you can then just build your deck to just counter that one hard boss

It could have been Train to hell It could have been Alriune It could have even be Queen of Hatred but even SHE is only bad if you dont have execution Bullets OR if you have them, but has Big Bird or Mountain of Smiling Bodies AKA dont let people get unalived Also the take about questioning why certain characters get genderbent is deffinitly a hot take Personally i dont feel too bad about it especially since Limbus did a nice job, Fate probably left a bad impression to everyone but even THAT series gave a actual reason to the point Fate is kinda overhated for this despite there are MUCH worse series out there, like Astolfo isnt even genderbent, hes still a guy just wearing a female outfit since thats what he is known for Or Da Vinci become esentially Monalisa herself because he REALLY loved Monalisa soo much he wants to BE her Funny thing is, im not even a Fate Fan but i find people hating them (Outside of the Gacha and gameplay itself) are quite unfair
I used wolf less because of wolf and more because of WAW (I gave up on the game afterwards WAWs) Also I just think it's weird to genderbend characters in general. I don't hate it but it's weird. I hate fate but its not because of the genderbending either. The VN is just one of the worst written things I have ever read

I also love how pm is able to integrate story into their gameplay
It's definitely their greatest strength, I just wish said integration didn't break me in LobCorp lmao

As for making Limbus an early access game the only reason it’s a gacha is cause iirc they admitted they needed money. All of us would love it to be an early access game.

I genuinely don't know why I omitted the whole egoshard thing from the video. It's in my script but I just didn t include it? I think it might've been because of some audio issues and I didn't have time to rerecord. It was 2am and I crashed the second it finished rendering.

I love Ruina so much because its difficultly is based on how much you want to do. I do not recommend you finish Leviathan till you finish Library of Ruina.
For the recommended breakdown of what content you can go through I recommend either paths:
LoR -> Limbus Company or Leviathan (order doesn't matter as of writing this)
Limbus company (before chapter 4.5) -> LoR
The choice is always yours to decide whether you're fine with spoilers or not.

Sleeper Agents ARISEEEEE
3:50 Can you elaborate more on that? What do you consider RNG to get to that ratio of skill to luck?
Even outside of the shard system, Limbus does have a pity system? Doing 200 pulls is guaranteed anything in the banner.
Aaah gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up

Wonder lab could be stillconcider canon as the author remove it as sign of distrust toward PM for firing another artist.

Keter Battle 2 from Library of Ruina
Im on the phone, I don't want to write on the phone
It is uncomfortable
I wanted to start with that because my next comment is only an oversimplification of a bible sized normal comment:
Most of what you exposed in the video seems like a you problem rather than a universal one... Not talking about opinion but taking issue in things addressed by the games:
-no control on charcters in LC? Learning to micro is a BIG part of later Sephira Meltdowns
-RNG on abnos? Unless the day ends on either a 1 or a 6, Memory Repository is there to reroll the abnormalities you got on a department... And repeating 2-3 days with vetter gear is not the end of the world
-Lack of books for story progression in Ruina? You know "Request" is unlocked around midway through the game just to make hoarding books easy, right? (Request: Abno page tier 1, marks an enemy, and the marked enemy gives more books on death, then you can reaply the mark)
(Plus there are internal mechanics to deterr you from burning more books than needed of of which is that, from Urban Nightmare onwards, golden Key and Combat pages receive a substantial rate up)
-too little lunacy? Once you unlock the mirror in Canto 2, that is no longer an excuse... Running Mirror Dungeons awards you 750 lunacy a week, plus 500 for weekly maintenance... A full energy refill costs you 26 lunacy
And don't tell me you out of all people are saving for the Gacha
(If you didn't knew btw... Refilling energy with lunacy and farming the mirror like a slave on the mines is more efficient than pulling to get characters)
And yes, that was the short, unreasonable version of what I wanted to comment
I never complained about lunacy, I complained about enkephalin batteries. I think the way they handle lunacy is perfectly justified. But also yes I'm a gacha hoarder I am not even gonna try to deny that lol.

I have heard of Hyperion but have yet to read it
As for the next thing, I'm thinking of doing Legacy of Kain but I'm waiting for my coin to land on its edge.
@@100Servings god blood omen 2 is the only game in this series I genuinely think sucks lmao

You don't see me complaining lol.
@@TheKHC It's just that you made this requirment of books seem way worse than it actually is
I'd argue it's pretty bad.

Also the take about questioning why certain characters get genderbent is deffinitly a hot take
Personally i dont feel too bad about it especially since Limbus did a nice job, Fate probably left a bad impression to everyone but even THAT series gave a actual reason to the point Fate is kinda overhated for this despite there are MUCH worse series out there, like Astolfo isnt even genderbent, hes still a guy just wearing a female outfit since thats what he is known for

Wow you don't seem good at these games.
On one hand, guilty as charged
On the other, the footage does not represent my actual playthrough, I just recoeded everything willy nilly in order to show off the mechanics, not my skill
@@TheKHC Tbf I was largely going off how you described mechanics and your experience like lobotomy corp being largely luck and library of ruina requiring you to repeat content a bit.
Ruina only requires you to repeat content if you lose. As for LobCorp, yeah thats on me but also the game just wasnt fun enough for me to justify trying to get good
fillter by lobcorp shoo we do not claim you as one of ours
I do not wish to be claimed by anyone. I'm a free man, thank you very much
