Laying some block on flat for a retaining wall which will have a patio on it. Was a very hot day again so was pretty tough working conditions! Stay tuned for part 2....
Beautiful work as always buddy. I can never understand how you can tell the piece if level with the line by looking at it from above! I’ve got an old concrete block retaining wall that’s coming down to be moved back for my patio. I have seen in some stone retaining walls that there’s some concrete blocks used in the background to then be surrounded by the stone. Reckon I can reuse the blocks from this wall if I take it down gently in my stone wall build buddy?
Thankyou! It is just something you get used to with being able to tell if its level with the line, when I started I would have taken ages just to put one block down. I see no problem with using old blocks, you may find the mortar is hard to get off though as old mortar tends to be stuck to concrete blocks like glue!
Nice tidy work. great vids. Where do you source the wall ties with the sleeves ? @SamDaviesBuilder
Thanks. They are available on eBay, type in ‘movement joint slip ties’. Or any good builders merchant will stock them
@SamDaviesBuilder thank you 👌👍🏻
