Good job guys!
They was laughin but Shaq was breakin it down. These guys in the league need to listen to chuck, kenny and shaq when it comes to adjustments and hints about becoming a GREAT player. Awesome to see his give back! 🔥
People forget how great the 2001 Lakers were defensively. Let's not forget the 2017 warriors could barely keep up with the 2017 spurs in the regular season.
“Regular season”
Lol that Warriors team was strolling in the regular season and won 67 games lol. Nobody stopping shaq 1v1 but if you got great team defense then you can slow him down.
@@runtoit1895 Spurs were literally beating the warriors by 20+ in the warriors home court until zaza injured kawhi. In the regular season, Spurs had the 2nd best defensive rating vs the warriors, and you're telling me you dont think the '01 lakers could contain the '17 warriors?

I love the fact that Shaq did not throw Kristan Thompson under the bus when the lady tried to make a big deal out of nothing big. If Tristan chooses to have as many babies and women he wants. It's his business. He's an adult, the women are adults. No crimes are being committed. Mind yo business!. Great job Shaq! Way to go

Who will win in a 7 game series?? Idk 🤷🏾♂️
Warriors in 6
I got Lakers winning remember what shaq said it's the others and you have Phil Jackson coaching and don't forget kobe Bryant was first and second all nba on both sides of the court Shaq is averaging 45 and 20 in that series
I love you guys ma man Shaq
56:44 this is true!!!
47:00 Shaq does McGee so dirty lol
I would love to see this matchup. My god.
I disagree if they played according to the rules in 2017. The best way to defend agains Shaq is to keep him off the floor. If Shaq is required to come and show on pick and rolls then now he is trying to guard either Steph or KD on the perimeter. Shaq would be in foul trouble every game thus forcing the opposing coach to bench him and limit his time on the floor. This is the best defense against Shaq. Get him to pick up fouls by being forced to guard out on the perimeter and limit his time on the court due to foul trouble. If I were the warriors I would hunt Shaq on pick and rolls every time with either Steph or KD handling the ball. Shaq says he would touch up Steph, Klay, and KD. All that does is put you in foul trouble and put great free throw shooter on the free throw line. The way the call touch fouls now Shaq may end up fouling out of every game.
Got it. heard you loud and clear 51:35

Thank you Professor Shaq on giving her the Onk lesson!
you couldn't predict the result. rules were changed because of Shaq, not Steph

@@ericmcandrews3547 steph literally changed the game. Everyone is doing 3's
@@Chris.41 years after 2015, the season where GS won championship with very good efficiency on 3's made the whole league add more volume to 3pt shooting (if you had the time to see all of teams 3pt graphics compared to years before GS prime time)
I'll say that Steph (probably Klay too) were the ones who made the 3pt trend
@@Chris.41 you just don’t understand basketball at ALL. Steph changed the way the league is played now, teams shoot more 3s. They even try 3s on fast breaks and every big man shoots now
@@Chris.41 you make no sense at all, the three point line always been there but nobody put up more attempts until steph had his breakout season what are you talking about? Imagine Draymond trying to guard Shaq in the post....It would look like a father vs sons game...

People forget that Klay probably gonna foul out guarding prime Kobe…
And people be forgetting Fish and Lu also hit 3s…
We’ll never know. but in the end KD is the true difference maker for that GSW. Kobe too short to guard him.

Tnt posted this 👀
Shaq who is my favorite player of all time said exactly wat I said wen I said it he be den laid everybody out
Respectfully how is Shaq going for 60-70 points when his playoff career high is 46
There were more bigger guys who could defend the post back then each team especially in the west,Specifically had a couple big bruisers to try and stop shaq, (mostly by spreading out fouls)
Also the lane was FAR more crowded.
Shaq 1v1 vs Draymond or Zaza in the post. BBQ chicken. Hed prob shoot like 70% or kick it out to the 3-4 pretty good shooters.
Not saying they would beat the warriors idk about that but I do think Shaq could do whatever he wants IF the ref calls the game like Shaq was reffed during those years. He would go through all those guys Draymond, Zaza, David West, javale like tissue paper.
I agree the big guys for those kings were vlade divac and c Webb in terms of size they were small compared to shaq now imagine Dre or zaza. BBQ time
Because draymond is a wimp
@Tcs 10s Yao, Dunkin, Garnet, Ben Wallace,
@@regice5650 garnet is a pf right? Same as duncan. Yao yes and he usually match up well vs shaq, probably due to age but whenever they meet yao usually cook shaq. Warriors have pachulia and mcgee, shaq is way way better than those 2 but they have size and height which is all u need to bother shaq and hope for an offensive foul.
Fix the audio, Shaq sounds like a guest.
That's an Ankh, and its not Arabic. That's the ancient Egyptian symbol of life.
There's no need for the Lakers to close in on the drive. No defensive doubling in the paint. The paint is Shaq's domain. Everyone stays home and cuts off Steph's escape passing lanes. Lakers in 5. Shaq averages 50 a night with about 4-5 blocks a game, and 12 rebounds per game.
You double Shaq, you got Fisher, Horry, Fox, Kobe you have to worry about.
Probably not
Lol everyone talk about how to guard curry until they get tried of chasing them nonstop.
2001 Lakers definitely wins. They have elite defenders like Fisher and Kobe who could slow down both Curry and Klay. Remember the Warriors against the Raptors in 2019? They aren’t good against teams with elite defenders. KD may get his numbers because he is unguardable but Shaq’s dominance would easily counter that production. Main difference is the role players as the Lakers team had good 3 & D players like Fisher, Fox, Horry, and Lue. Most of the warriors role players were all 1 way players who were horrible on defense with the exception of Draymond.
Interesting perspective. Curry just dominantly won a finals against the 2nd best defensive team(Celtics) of this years playoffs. In the 2019 finals Klay shot a ts of 70% averaging 26 ppg with fg% over 54% and 3P% of 58.5% against the defense you say he struggled against???? That’s him struggling? Not to mention he got injured mid game while hot so he could’ve done more?? Curry for sure had a tougher time scoring at his usual marks with only a ts% of 60%(which is still great), but his all time great co-star KD was injured the whole series and Klay injured in 2 games meant curry was the only offensive threat at times. This allowed the raptors to play box 1 defense on steph as the only main offensive threat because 2019 warriors had no spacing with those 2 gone. Warriors Barely lost in game 6 by 4 points despite this…
2017 was all 1-way players??? They were literally the second best rated defensive team through the regular season and playoffs.
Feel free to argue in favor of the Lakers, but please next time you comment, use your brain buddy.
This is the 2017 warriors not 2019 two different rosters
Kobe was a different beast. He would take it as a challenge to stop either steph, Kd, or klay
remember how Kobe tried to lock down Steph, but he just shot over him like it was nothing

So they aint got nothing this year 😹
Curry's cracked out if he believes that any Warriors team that he's been on could've beaten any Lakers championship team. Curry's floating on something if being able to make a three got him thinking like that 😂
Shaq is a real one! He tells it like it is!! I love listening to that man!!!! But I'm not still not taking that vax. 😜 I agree, 2001 Lakers, will beat the '17 Warriors, especially if the get to play "real big boy physical" basketball like they did back in the day! The warriors would get physically beat up and worn down. Also listen to the sit down with Shaq and Kobe before he passed, where Kobe basically tells how they can play in today's game, with Shaq down low, the game stops and how they can control pace and tempo.
Y’all need to chill cuz the warriors can definitely put the smack down on the 01 lakers.
The Warriors are the greatest team in the no defense era of basketball. If they ever had to play in a decade where defense was actually allowed they wouldn’t even make the finals.
You wrong
@@TheSwagIsBack you speak no English
46:50 He's right lol. As him vs Steph on offense. Like remember Bron vs Steph in 2016 finals? And Shaq is way bigger. Not to mention Kobe vs Klay on defense, and Kobe on offense too. Only thing would be KD offense who would kept GSW afloat. Though KD in the paint vs Shaq... I don't know, we saw him vs physical defenses with Boston this year. And in the 2000s people were defending pretty tough
A big reason why GSW lost in 2016 is because Harrison Barnes can't hit anything despite being hella wide open with the defense all over Steph & Klay. When they got KD, they were pretty much unbeatable because they have the 3rd guy to actually keep the defense honest when the Splash Brothers get hounded by the defense. Same goes also for the Warriors this year, you couldn't fully commit the entire defensive gameplan on the Splash Bros because you still have to worry about Wiggins & Poole, both of whom could go off on any given night.
@@jan279 Same is for the 3 and D guys in LA, Like Horry, Fox, even D-Fish
@@Eliras24 nah man, those guys aren't that, they're the Iguodalas & Livingstons of the Lakers.
@@jan279 well, not Fish for sure
@@Eliras24 he an Iguodala for sure.
They would let Shaq do his thing by throwing Some players from the bench on him knowing they will not stop him.
Defensively they would focus on a Young Kobe just like how the Pistons did with elite switching, elite help defense/recovery defense and versatile defenders and GSW would just clog the paint. Hack-a-Shaq in late game situations would happen as usual.
And on the other side they would expose the lack of 3pt defense, expose Shaq on switches, PnR defense and on his drop coverage.
GSW would need to outpace the Lakers if they want to win, and would need to fully use their PnR, pass and go, cuts, ball screens, screens assists, off ball movement, ball movement with extra pass to beat the Lakers by team basketball.
If they go on a ISO battle with the Lakers f the early 2000's who is a heavy iso league that would lead them to loose very quickly
PS: I forgot the refs, and if the refs call fouls like how they was doing for the Lakers back then ( hello Kings) then for sure GSW will loose anyway
great take, people keep saying on twitter rick fox, fisher, and horry will lock steph and klay out lol. Aint no fuckign way when Mike Bibby was shitting on them boys.
@@Impactframess Exactly plus ppl forget that the late 2010's is not a heavy ISO league anymore, there's more assists like in the 80's,
so if Curry play off the ball score within the flow of the ball movement, and benefits from screens (screens assists or to make space with the defender) plus with all the pass and go, he will score anyway.
PLUS having to defend Curry from the midfield PLUS having to keep up with GSW transitions and pace.
That would be a big difference for these guys to deal with compare to the slow ISO heavy league of the early 2000's.
Guys like Dennis Johnson, Sydney Moncrief who play in the fast 80's (faster than today's game) would be more suitable as they use to defend on transitions too
@@paquinraino8180 who curry would have defend? kobe? horry? :D et "live with O'neal do his things" is far more complicated than you think.... when someone who destroy good to legendary centers, will be defend by??? Draymond? please.... O'neal would go 45/20rebs and countless blocks... lakers would shot at ease as second shots will be many ... so i clearly don't know... but i bet on the big guy as kobe can defend him a bit, rick fox was a very good defender, and fisher wasn't bad either... so .. anthing curry can throw at them kobe can also...
Kobe wasn't that young when they faced the Pistons. That was just a bad Lakers team. Just like the one that LeBron assembled. A bunch of old all stars and too many egos. If they woulda played together more cohesively they woulda smoked Detroit
@@Hectorymusique you forgot that Duncan beat this Lakers team in 03 with a sophomore Parker and a retiring Robinson playing 8 min a game.
Dray will do what Dray does and they will throw bodies at him , but Shaq is Shaq just like vs the Spurs in 03 or during the 04 Finals he did his things regardless, less points than vs a weak Nets teams but still did his things.
Kobe tho? in both these that was the main point of why they loose. Remeber that's not a prime Kobe yet, he is still young.
Also Steph goes vs Jrue, Kawhi, Smart, Lowry went vs Allen, prime Conley, Gino and still did his thing.

People forget how good of a defender Ron Harper and Kobe were. The 1999 team was also great with glen rice and Eddie Jones. Don’t forget about big game rob.
Young Kobe will have his hands full with a prime KD and KD can hold his ground against Kobe. So can Iggy so can Klay so can Dray.
Shaq makes it sound as if had the stamina to run for 48 minutes. He literally was gasping for air in thar half court era and every time Shaq dunks Gs will make that team run. Even if Shaq average 60 ppg which I extremely doubt. That's not even enough for them to hold GS
@@joweydelanota7421 KD cannot hold Kobe. He was never an elite defender. Kobe destroyed the Kings and Spurs with the Twin Towers in the playoffs.
