Only thing I've found better than domain seeds is their customer service they are a company that really cares about their product, and their customers.

@@anthonykontos7931catching up on comments sorry for delay lol.
You can just mow it which will
Make it easier to fill back in. But wait until spring time before replanting to mow.
The setting would vary just open until seed just starts to come out and walk with that somewhere around 1.5-2. Start with small

I planted some sugar momma this season and it’s been a great plot for me. I had some turnips that I bet almost hit 10 inches in diameter. The deer are still hitting them here late season in Mn and I was able to shoot a 156” eight point a week ago.

I planted two blends last year. Big Sexy from Domain and a brassica blend from a very reputable company that i wont name because I do not want to do anything to dirty their name or anything, but same soil, same seed rate, fertiziler, plant date, same everything. Domain looked like it was on steroids. It was unbelievable how it turned out. Going to try Show Stopper this year.

Regardless of what I am able to do or not on my own land, I hunt some farms that plant roughage corn and I am gonna seed the edges of a couple I have permanent tree stands up on. I see Tractor Supply and Amazon have some varieties so the seed is at least easy to order. Seems reasonably priced too.

Can you make a video covering when to plant what? I’m a beginner in the whole productive food plots, I’ve planted rye and wheat for 3 years now and have seen a drastic increase in daylight bucks but I’m eager to give turnips and other seeds a try. I have a .75 acre plot I haven’t planted in and want to get it rolling for next deer season, what would you recommend for a slight hillside that was covered in oak saplings and a few pines?

Have no bs and smackdown.some clovers as well, tilling tuesday.going to plant in seperate rows(only have 1 acre) some winter rye.no spraying, wetlands on 1 side.will mix clover and brassicas together.what little rye took( 40 + flock of turkeys demolished my fall rye seed before germination.here in e tn we are on the higher elevation plateau but our winters generally arent tough.any advice for my seed placement, rows to see what gets browsed down 1st,what grows best in our soil etc.paying a guy to till and fertilize 1 acre( heavy hardwood on 2 sides, ours we dont hunt the woods, sanctuary bedding area)does not justify equipment purchase, dont even need a atv,got a jeep with deer hoist/ carrier attachment for the hitch.open field no shade we have acess to water to irrigate it if we have drought, usually in fall.great vid btw, looking forward to seeing your plots progress.👍

No sweat, the clover blends , and brassica blends are great. But its hard to beat late September broadcast of 150lbs a acre of rye, or wheat over the top of these blends. :)

Anything that might work on a forest edge bordering a swamp ? I hinge cut a couple areas out there and cleared a south facing spot about 1/4 acre and wonder if it's worth trying some seed.

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors

Yes you can always try NO BD and or hot chic those would be good options planted first. Then you can always overseed with some straight winter wheat to help fill in spots.

@@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors No way to get a tractor out there to break up the dirt at all, so just overcast with seed and hope it takes ? I think just because the trees are gone the place will green up nice on it's own. I will try a bit of the Domain seeds I see on the video, why not ?

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors

@@jeffhays1968 well obviously you would have to do it had a new plot so weed control would be a good idea along with a soil sample. You can spray it in spring an summer to control weeds then use some sort of drag to rough up dirt then broadcast your seed

@@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors Will try to get the small tractor down there when the ground thaws in the spring and try a spring tooth drag just to rough up the leaves and maybe some of the ground. Try some hand seeding as a Hail Mary down there, why not ? I still have a bit of hinge cutting to do on the edge too, This is the first year I have tried anything like this. I only have 8 acres and it's all mostly acorns that get deer in here. I want something better.
