I mean... Kirby already deals with planetary, galactic and Universal threats on the regular. Giving him a gun really wouldn't really make him _more_ dangerous (at least not by any appreciable degree), it'd only give him one more option to fight with.
And then you use the gun and realise he can fire Charge Shots from it, and upgrade it for rapid-fire dual-wielding

The idea is, a gun can be used to unintentionally kill someone. Give a gun to a baby and the baby isn't gonna know what it is.

nice to see that classic Kirby. I think he was perfect when he still had relatively narrow eyes, but still had cheek blushies instead of like, whiskers. Superstar, pinnacle of Kirby.
