My family moved to Corktown in 1839. My great grandfather, my grandmother, and my dad were all born there.
Detroit will be great again!

It is going to take a lot of money, patience, and hard work but Detroit will turn around. It will not be overnight.
So so encouraging! This was done a year ago in production, yet the for-running notes said it was filmed in October, 2016.
I truly hope that this area, along with many others in the city, completely renovate the businesses & spots of interest, along with the residential districts. Bring safety, quality, and that pride of bringing a famous city back to its "grand glory days". Leading the way...the car industry & various other famous Detroit companies that made the area fun to visit.
Thanks for the "good news" video-documentary.
Corktown is looking awesome!
Great video- never been to Corktown, and now, because of this video, I'm going to visit in a few weeks, and spend my money in this region. Best of luck to you all.....
I am visiting Detroit in 10 days. I can't wait to see the art and music scene, and Motown museum. It's been a dream to see it in person.
Davis Urdaneta how was your experience?
I’d love to live in a loft in Detroit!
2:43 I grew up in that house up until 3 yrs ago and seeing it now made me break down
Tremendously impressed .
I really wanna live in Detroit! MOTOWN IS MY LIFE, LITERALLY....!!
Thinking of relocating... wanting a fresh start in life. Detroit looks promising, affordable and I would love to be a part of the renewal of such a great city. any thoughts? tips?
Do it! Give yourself time to find a job, if that's your thing. Go out, meet people, enjoy.
So where did you relocate after all?
solid work , really gets a view of up and coming communities that look amazing, with adding people to follow
Ford's revitalization of the Michigan Central Train Station we'll make the neighborhoods of Corktown and Mexican-town thrive again!

Taking back Detroit one street at a time....Lamed Vav39....
I live in TORONTO ...blessed to live in beaches neighborhood by lake ontario on east side. Been to DETROIT...seemed quiet
It is compared to Toronto. In my youth we used to take VIA from Windsor to Toronto on weekends. Go there all the time now for my job. Still an incredible city with incredible people. I lived for fifty years in Cork Town. This video shows my house. My son lives there now. Cork Town is just begining its comeback. Ford Motor has bought Michigan Central Station and is converting it into a research center. Condos are being built everywhere. I live in Brush Park now and we are surrounded by construction projects. We will never be Toronto but give us a few years. 20 years ago you could literally walk up Woodward Avenue on a Friday night and run into 5 people. Today? In the summer the streets are jammed.
@Anne Harriman Hi Anne. I remember Brazzels. It was one of a dozen watering holes that lined Michigan Avenue between Michigan Central Station and Tiger Stadium. I grew up above Vinewood Book Sellers in Cork Town. My parents owned the store. I lived in Cork Town until 2017. My wife and I now live in Brush Park in the Summer and Key West in the Winter. The Mexican Town/ Cork Town Areas have come full circle. It broke my heart when they tore down Tiger Stadium and closed the old railroad station but now both sites are booming. Ford Motor is renovating Michigan Central Station and the old Tiger Stadium site has been developed into condominiums. Tons of construction in the area. I still frequent The Gaelic League, Nemos Bar and The Marine Corps League. I am glad you have good memories of the area. It went through bad times but is coming back strong.
I'm wondering why there isn't anything in this video about Spaulding Court on Rosa Parks. Place was bought in 2010 and undergoing renovation - I thought that historic (1912) 20-unit apartment complex would be something to highlight by now.....
We reached out to include them, our schedules didn't work. Thanks for watching.
Up date 👍🙏
coming soon :)

A Realtor participating in a video promoting residential growth wears a T-shirt for the interview. At least it was clean.
I think that's really great too bad they couldnt import some of that spirit and love for entrepreneurial charisma to downtown detroit. That might be helpful. like 50 years ago.
