Just got the rebuild kit for my 2002 frontier and after watching this looks like I need some new wrenches and Pittman arm puller. Very helpful .. thanks for sharing from Ontario , Canada
That was your best video that I have seen so far... great explanations and good images, Thanks for taking the time. It allows me to be the "youtube" mechanic Oh and the temp of the propane flame is over 3,000º F. not 200... ;-)
I needed adj steering slop after hitting big woopdt do towing heavy trailer. Top nut is reverse thread for lock. Somehow I stripped aluminum threads. Replaced top cap with different one. Slowly system started leak years later on top. Is there gasket iring around center adjuster? Wonderful condition other wise zero rust.
Been troubleshooting why it's hard to turn right. People saying I need a rack and pinion, but I don't even think my '04 Frontier even has that. Pretty sure I need a new box?
Hello Lester no I’m very sorry I do not. I only have video on showing you how to remove the shift control module rebuild it and replace it. That’s actually a pretty good video check out this link maybe this is your problem and you don’t need to remove your transmission I’m not certain. Because I don’t know what problem you’re experiencing Maybe this will help you let me know what you think have a great day ruclips.net/video/1fvM7TQaaMc/видео.html
Hey Clay, the reason for illustration to remove transmission is due to main seal leak. Head gaskets are clean. Oil pan? I cant't tell. Bout I think is coming from the main seal. Local mechanic is charging me $1,700.00 to do main seal and oil pan. Expensive is it? He mentioned if I want to keep my car that's the cost, if not to sell as is. Any recommendations? Best, Lester
Great video thank you, after re connecting the two lines is there any purging or bleeding I have to do or as you mentioned do I have to do a whole power steering flush I will be doing this in my driveway so if I don’t have to change the fluid in the whole system that would be great so if I re connect the lines and tighten everything is the truck good to drive or will there be air in the system
Well.. you will have to bleed the system.. Make sure there is fluid in the reservoir and then turn the wheel left and right, lock to lock, and that will pump the fluid and get the air out the system.
I have the same vehicle as this. I’m putting a new gear on and it has two small o-rings in the box.... one looks like it would work on the small line, the other looks too small for the large line. When you put the new gear on did you use the o rings?
Yes I did but you don’t have to as long as the old o-rings look good you’re good to go and generally I would use old ones before I would use the new ones if they looked appropriate I hope that’s helpful will have a good evening
I know it's been some years. But man with the right tools like you described. This job saved me hundreds..

I’m almost sure of it,I mean this thing is almost the same as taking off a Ford or a Chevy

Waiting to see you use that pitman arm puller
Great video but what was the truck doing that it needed to be replaced
The power steering was not working properly.
Do u have to calibrate it before installing lmk asap please
After replacing, was there any improvement in steering slop?
Oh absolutely there was

Had my planetary gear replaced in my '04 Frontier around this time. Then the rear dif was bad too. A cool 4k experience.

So... how did you remove the pitman arm??
Pitman arm removal tool and heat I’m certain there’s dozens of video showing you
🙌🏽
Could you post a link directing me to the part
Sorry don’t know it . That video is years old
The reason I want to remove transmission is to replace the engine rear main seal.
Yeah sorry Lester I do not have a video showing you how to remove the transmission. But if I ever have a chance I will certainly make one
The rear main seal is bad on my ‘02 Xterra 3.3l. Its a very common issue.
