Gotta say, I'm really starting to love the visual identity this remake has. Such a charming mix between the visuals of DS and the N64 original. Always glad to see you're still working on it!
It’s incredible how much you nailed the visual style. A great mix of modern graphics while keeping the feel of the original. An incredible reimagining.
This is amazing. I'm very pleased to have stumbled on this project, and I'll be following it going forward! I think an SM64 DS skin might be a nice addition to compliment the original skin.
The biggest problem with alot of these mario 64 remakes and remasters is they don't look like something nintendo would actually make in a modern mario style or even in the mario style of the gamecube or wii right after the 64 era.
I'd recommend possibly skins that copy the palettes (and possibly even art style) from other mario games, such as the first 3 Super Mario Bros. games on NES, Super Mario World, etc. Of course you can't forget green Mario
oh my god this looks like if 64 was remade on the wii! i can not wait to see more of this, really amazing work! two questions, 1. this will be a full on remake of 64 correct? 2. are you planning on including ds feature (wario, luigi, yoshi, new levels, new bosses) and can we expect new features? (waluigi cope)
I only plan to do Bob-omb Battlefield as I'd like to start making an original ROM hack after this update releases. I plan to include Luigi as a skin, and possibly Wario and Waluigi, but I don't plan to include new levels and bosses.
@64Modder Yeah, in that game it's always dynamic, but you can always press the triangle button for the full HUD to show up for a couple of seconds before going away again
That would be the focus blur highlighting the brightest parts of the image, creating a blotchy paint-like effect. Makes sense why it would remind you of Skyward Sword. I love that game's art style.
Could you add a Mario skin that is similar to classic SM64 mario but with a less blocky design? Similar to how Mario looks in Kaze Emanuar's hacks, he has a video about how to improve the default Mario model
Toad might not work too well, as he has a very different skeletal structure than Mario, meaning he might look rather odd as a skin. It might be possible to do, but it would be a little more difficult than Luigi, who I am planning to do.
hatsune miku just as recolored mario but seriously, maybe something simple like a pacman skin? other mainline mario characters would be pretty nice. maybe like the 3d world character set.
He actually did. He put my Bob-omb Battlefield model into RTYI and it ran from 30 to 40 fps on console. So although it could run on console, I don't have the engine he uses, so it doesn't.
i wonder how did you made that mario model replacement? I need to know because that would be useful for making different playble character and im trying to do that for my rom hack
If you're referring to replacing Mario's original model, I just exported over the original with Fast64 in Blender. If you're referring to having different models to choose from, I just included the new one and the old one, and made a function that changes his model depending on what you choose.
@@64Modder that maybe sounds stupid but will you make that function public or made a tutorial on how to do it because im trying to do the similar thing but im failing every time
No Hatsune Miku? Fine, then do Rin Kagamine. This is a small suggestion, but an option for the original voice wouldn't hurt it if could be easily implemented.
cool
cool
cool
me when i see vibri ribbon: cool

I think it's more like Mario Galaxy and 64
It’s incredible how much you nailed the visual style. A great mix of modern graphics while keeping the feel of the original. An incredible reimagining.
Thank you!
I feel like this could be a gamecube remake of SM64
This is amazing. I'm very pleased to have stumbled on this project, and I'll be following it going forward!
I think an SM64 DS skin might be a nice addition to compliment the original skin.
Thank you! A DS skin could be doable.
This is looking so friggen good! And the settings UI sound effects are a nice touch. Can NOT wait to see where this project goes!!!!
This looks like Ocarina of Time 3D, but for Mario 64. Really cool stuff!
Hatsune Mario would be a masterpiece of an addition to this rom hack!
This is the mario 64 remake ive always wanted
bro this is amazing keep going bro your the best you did a great job❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The biggest problem with alot of these mario 64 remakes and remasters is they don't look like something nintendo would actually make in a modern mario style or even in the mario style of the gamecube or wii right after the 64 era.
Is this the exception?
this is cool. maybe do smash bros. skins for recolors and maybe even the costumes from smash that have different models.
I feel like a Hatsune Miku skin would be the perfect addition to any ROM Hack. I'd highly recommend adding that.
Nah, waluigi is better, remember, you're nsfw, NEVER SAFE FROM WALUIGI
@caoistico669that's why hes not in smash bros
This looks like mario 64 on the gamecube this is so cool! excited for the release!
Also for skins, I'd love for Luigi to be playable
I'd recommend possibly skins that copy the palettes (and possibly even art style) from other mario games, such as the first 3 Super Mario Bros. games on NES, Super Mario World, etc.
Of course you can't forget green Mario
skins with the Mario World & SMB3 palettes would be awesome
(a syobon action skin could be funny)
such a cool project

We need a Hatsune Mario skin 🙏
It'd be nice for a specific bind to show the HUD at any time, like in Rayman 2
You're referring to pressing a button to make it appear or disappear?
@64Modder Yeah, in that game it's always dynamic, but you can always press the triangle button for the full HUD to show up for a couple of seconds before going away again
I could do that. Thanks for the idea.
looks amazing
Id love to see hatsune miku chibi version, luigi, reimu, retro 8bit mario, smash melee mario, smash brawl mario, etc
Is this the pc port?
I recommend chibi/field Young Sephiroth from final fantasy ever crisis as a skin! I think it would be cool!
that distance filter in the thumbnail really looks like skyward sword
That would be the focus blur highlighting the brightest parts of the image, creating a blotchy paint-like effect. Makes sense why it would remind you of Skyward Sword. I love that game's art style.
Could you add a Mario skin that is similar to classic SM64 mario but with a less blocky design? Similar to how Mario looks in Kaze Emanuar's hacks, he has a video about how to improve the default Mario model
I was considering adding a smooth Mario 64 model as well as the original.
The menu is so changed that you forget it's on an N64 ROM
I recommend adding a Luigi and Toad skin to the game, im curious of how they are gonna look like in this game.
Toad might not work too well, as he has a very different skeletal structure than Mario, meaning he might look rather odd as a skin. It might be possible to do, but it would be a little more difficult than Luigi, who I am planning to do.
hatsune miku just as recolored mario
but seriously, maybe something simple like a pacman skin? other mainline mario characters would be pretty nice. maybe like the 3d world character set.
I recommend adding the skin colors as an attribute modifier for each skin. So option below skin.
I'd love to add that. I was just working on it yesterday but it's quite hard to do.
@64Modder, nothing is ever as easy as you'd think. You're doing an awesome job on this project! Keep it up!
Waluigi skin is mandatory
Super Mario Odyssey or Sunshine skin with the sun glasses! Possibly 3D Land skin as well... 🤔
One suggestion I have.... Being able to change the voice pack ? I personally prefer the og Mario voice clips and would go for those
I'm considering that. It would be a lot of work, but not impossible.
@64Modder thanks for the self-sacrificing, hero!
@@64Modder you could just be able to switch the voice sfx on the fly based on the option.
love the videos but why the outro song is like that 😰
Because it's funny.
This will be Mario 64 in 2025
You're not gonna believe this, man...
@64Modder no way...
How about the render96 low-poly promo model for Mario? Does that qualify for a skin?
Waluigi
Does something like this run on real hardware? Or will this be a pc only project?
Not even Kaze could get an N64 game looking like this on OG hardware.
He actually did. He put my Bob-omb Battlefield model into RTYI and it ran from 30 to 40 fps on console. So although it could run on console, I don't have the engine he uses, so it doesn't.
I've always pronounced "HUD" like "mud"
That's what makes sense, but for some reason I've always pronounced it like "hood".
i wonder how did you made that mario model replacement? I need to know because that would be useful for making different playble character and im trying to do that for my rom hack

I can post it on my Discord server if you become a part of that, or I could DM you if you have Discord.
Would "Fox McCloud from the Super Smash Bros. Melee for Nintendo GameCube game" be a valid answer?
Will it works on the original hardware (the N64)?
It could if I had a better engine, but it's not optimized to run on console.
You're doing the (gaming) lord's work man
Give us the hatsune miku skin
never
Is this for PC. I refuse to install an emulator.
It's for an emulator. Why do you refuse to download an emulator?
luigi?
I definitely want to do Luigi.
pardon?
You heard me
We need a Wario please
No Hatsune Miku? Fine, then do Rin Kagamine.
This is a small suggestion, but an option for the original voice wouldn't hurt it if could be easily implemented.
luigi mangione skin
Mario defeats Bowser with a gun
You should port it to android the downloads being insane wild then
Any SM64 ROM hack can be played on an Android emulator, as long as it wasn't made for the PC port.
@ this a rom hack??
Yeah. It's a regular ROM hack of Super Mario 64.
This is N64!?
Was thinking Wii at first, it looks very impressive :0
please port to coopdx
sued by nintendo when
Please, I have no money
hatsune miku skin please
AAAAAAAAAAA
For a materialist, your speech demeans yourself. I can tell you try, though. You test.
Is this a bot account? I don't see any relevance in this comment to the video.
@@64Modder No.
@logolept Then could you please explain what you mean? Why are you assuming I'm a materialist, and what do you mean by "your speech demeans yourself"?
@@64Modder You say the word ‘thing,’ so I postulate so, and you deny titles, such as in “not a singer.”
