Just rewatching this. Got curious and Ryu is still ranked 40th on the speed run leaderboard. Considering this was 2 years ago and very soon after release this is pretty impressive. Not sure how popular it is as a speedrun game but still.
Ryu I say this as a lover of your content, and you obviously have no reason to listen to me, but I dont think you should try speedrunning many games. I have never seen you as uninterested and unhappy playing a game as you look and talk in this video. I hope you really do have fun playing and creating content for us!
You'd think after multiple wars, Rock would end up having a better processor than X, but no. Capcom should've put an after game option to be able to play as X, fully decked out, all upgrades from the original X. Imagine just using Hadouken on the current bosses

Hey Ryukahr, or anyone else reading this who has an answer. I only recently subscribed to this channel and never really appreciated how fun mario and other platformers could be. However I suck at platformers. I can claim that I have beaten every oficial mario game but I beat them like bacteria on a snails antenna. TLDR: Can anyone recomend tutorial videos or posts that explain all the technical moves that can be done in Mario games?
I don't think there's much of that around, and mostly in super Mario other than midairs there's nothing that really needs an explanation, for SMW I can suggest kaizo training hacks, that pretty much put you in spots where you can practice a specific trick over and over until you get it and can finish the stage. SMB1 it's pretty much just really precise inputs, smb3 I have no idea, Super Mario maker has kaizo college. The point of this games anyway, is that you don't really need to learn specific mechanical tricks, but you need to understand movement most of all, the rest of it is pretty much bashing your head on it until you find a setup. If you can't figure out shelljumps, I would say, try to see what's the shell doing when you change how far from the wall you are or how late in the jump arc you throw the shell, frame grabs are easy, you just stand on the throw block and press jump and grab at the same time, p-jumps are just very precise jumps, it's hard to get consistent but it's only a matter of jumping in the correct frame window, midairs are hard, and you can probably find some tutorial on those, but I'd say you have to jump, at almost the top of the arc you look left for a couple frames, look right and throw at roughly the same time. But I'll say again that the hard part is learning to manage the movement of mario and building up muscle memory for consistency.
