I'm 47, so yeah, I'm getting old, but I remember these games when they came out and I remember it quite clearly. I remember going to KB Toys or Babbages, in the mall, looking at all the newest games being released on the NES or, my jam, the C64. I remember going to Blockbuster video and getting a game to rent while my parents stocked up on rentals for the weekend where they would rent between two and five movies for the evenings. You know what I miss most? I miss that thrill, that joy, that complete excitement (blood rushing, palms sweating, legs jittering) that I used to get when we pulled into the parking lots of places like Blockbuster, Best Buy, or the video arcade. I miss that feeling of excitement.
Me too. I must have made it to the roadblock in Wily 1 a hundred times and could not figure out how to progress. Finally after a year I learned you could use the robot master weapons. And, yes, @Ryu you can die after defeating the robot master if their last attack does enough damage to take you out as well.
12:37 I just posted this on Twitter about a week ago(my clearing this with no damage), but while the timing is very tight for dodging the fire here in both sections, this obstacle can be dodged without taking damage. @@kraken5003 The easiest way, by far, is to stand still upon reaching the boss room and wait for Fire Man to shoot first. Do *not* move left or right. Mega Man will hit Fire Man and jump over the Fire Storm attack at once. Then repeat this when Fire Man begins to shoot again, never moving Mega Man left or right. Make sure not to jump again as soon as Mega Man lands, or he’ll jump too early and land in the fire on the floor, which will throw off the pattern. Lastly, as this is important, make sure you only fire one shot each time you try to hit the boss. Try to fire off more than one shot, and Fire Man will do the same, ignoring the pattern altogether. @@arnoldoctavianagungwibawa9083 I just tried this at Wily’s castle. To succeed in the same manner, you must be incredibly precise in your timing. Here’s how it’s broken down: When Fire Man’s life energy finishes filling up, you’ll need to get Mega Man to start running to the right, but for NO MORE than half of a second (5/10ths of a second). Let go of the directional button immediately, and Mega Man will slide to a full stop. Mega Man’s right (or back) foot should be lined up completely above the floor’s third light blue square from the left directly underneath him, but right behind the black outlining of the same square. This is just to get the correct positioning. You will not need to press the D-pad anymore for the remainder of the fight, if this first part was done correctly. During this time, Fire Man will begin to charge up his fire storm attack, with the first wall of fire appearing on (but not yet leaving) his Buster arm. It will take around 5/10ths of a second before he actually fires the attack at Mega Man. However, Mega Man will need to start jumping and shooting sooner than that, at precisely 2/10ths of a second after the fire storm first appears with Fire Man. If you follow these steps at these exact timings, you can continue from this point the same no-damage strategy that you used earlier at his own stage. You have to be very precise, or Fire Man will start shooting more than one fire storm at a time!

Let's see Ryu try Mega Man 3 buster only. It's hard cos the bodies that the MM2 bosses inhabit are larger so you can't jump over them like you could in MM2.
About "mandatory damage" in Fireman stage, or any other for that matter, you can do every Main line Mega Man games buster only*, no damage. MythrilDragon did all the games like this. *Excluding the necessary Wily stage power up uses etc.
37:15 You don't need Magnet Beam for that section. Jump onto the floating block, then a small hop back onto the platform. A big jump makes you bonk your head and not make the distance which is probably why you think it's impossible.
23:34 - that "ladder thing" definitely is a glitch - it's screen wrapping (jumping up past the top of the screen so that it counts as being at the bottom of the screen). Found out about this by using Magnet Beam a little too high crossing the pit in Guts Man's stage :(
If you wait on Fire Man to shoot and then jump straight up and fire (only one shot per jump), you'll (a) clear his fire shot and (b) keep him from going spaz-tastic. If you do that consistently, it's pretty easy to clear him no-damage. You do have to be careful on the very last shot to jump forward rather than just straight up; otherwise you'll land on the fire, which lasts a moment longer after he dies. Now for your next challenge, you can run it all no-damage like RoahmMythril. 🙂
