I have such a shallow zeal and faith, that at the slightest hardship or inconvenience, all my passions rise to the surface and my supposed faith crumbles :( Lord have mercy.. also sidenote, i really love the choice of background music, especially this one.
I'm begging you, please don't add reverb/audio effects to your speaking. The same goes for the generic "spiritual" music, all it does is cheapen the message imo
Praying doesnt say perfectionist, he spoke 5 thousand Jesus prayers hm, yes that is not productive, and that is why i fall, failing, no success morally and spiritually, i say too many prayers only to feel exhausted and not doing enough of the physical good actions so that i do feel great , then the good comes out, this man resembles me. And i am so sorry God. Im the same in years past or mabey i have the same evil passions in me as in the past, i think it is not me that is evil, but i dont know how to say this honestly, but i want to be good, god help me, let us focus on our own salvation, how much help does God give to us when we help others with their salvation?
Praising God 5,000 times a day is different from asking Jesus for favors and things you need in life and keep repeating it! Seek first the kingdom and the rest God knows what you need!!!
God needs no prayers from us. Let us be clear. The Jesus prayer is very centrally about vigilance/watchfulness. To have Christ and the truth of the Gospel set before us at all times and in all things. The remembrance of our sins and need of the Savior and His work of transformation in us. The prayer becomes a filter, keeping the Word of God constantly in on our lips, mind and heart, which guards against demonic lies and suggestions, that are fired at the mind. If we stop them within the noetic realm by focussing on the core Truth which is Christ, they hit a blockade and cannot pass through, be dwelt upon and root themselves in the heart and therefore bring about sinful actions. Likewise, when the man becomes purified, he has a greater possibility of transfiguration. I could go on, but I think this helps a bit! God bless!

Context: The society of that time and place was polytheistic. They would pray to one god, and in case that god was not listening, repeat the same prayer to another and another and another and so on. This is what is meant by "vain repetition, as the heathen do." I am not going to type out a whole explanation of the significance of the Jesus prayer. I pray that someday you will make a fine right-believing Christian and may the Lord have mercy on us both.

Definitely agree about the reverb, but I think the music didn’t take away at all from the message. It was subdued enough that it wasn’t a distraction

Jesus did say not to repeat prayers like fools do,for they believe that by repeating prayers they will be heard
