Very impressive work Ishan. You did a great job keeping the soul of the piece intact.

Neat idea to arrange the piece for octet. And what a beautiful arrangement! Full of class.

ISHAN: That was marvelous. The only thing that "failed" you was the VST or soundset you used, because it was so well thought out and such a pleasure to experience!

What an interesting and original approach, I like it a lot. I agree with Thomas that a regular string quartet might be a better choice for a chamber setting, and that switching one of the horns for a bassoon could also work. Still, I find it fascinating how you realise such a versatile and colourful score with deliberately limited resources.
Careful with the horn lip trill 2 bars before C, it will not be very subtle. But what a great effect it is of course. I read somewhere on a hornist's blog that hornists don't have a problem reading an octave worth of ledger lines below the staff in treble clef. That means you would hardly ever need a bass clef at all.

Excellent arrangement, Ishan. Really cool idea to arrange for octet! Two horns seems kind of heavy for an ensemble of this size to me, though. Maybe one could be replaced with something like bassoon?

Ishan: a beautiful arrangement. It’s a pity that your mock-up doesn’t bring out the lovely chamber sound you’ve written. Lovely close harmonies, and some delicate textures really stand out. (I agree with Thomas about swapping a horn for a bassoon. That might have opened up some options for you.) A charming score.
